Scientific Facts in the Bible by Ray Comfort Pdf

An elderly lady once left 20,000 dollar and 'my Bible and all it contains' to her nephew. The young man knew what the Bible contained so he didn't bother to open it. He merely picked it up and put it on a high shelf in his house, and headed for Las Vegas. It wasn't long until all his money was gone. He lived the next 60 years as a pauper, scraping for every meal and barely having the clothes on his back. As he was moving to a convalescent home he reached up to grab that old Bible and accidentally dropped it from his trembling hands. It fell to the floor and opened, revealing a 100 dollar bill between every page. That man lived his life as a pauper when he could have lived in luxury, simply because of his prejudice. He thought he knew what the Bible contained. Most people don't know that the Bible contains a wealth of incredible scientific, medical and prophetic facts. The implications are mind boggling...

Supernatural by Heiser, Michael S. Pdf

Dr. Michael S. Heiser presents fifteen years of research on what the Bible really says about the unseen world of the supernatural, unfiltered by tradition or by theological presuppositions. Who were the sons of God? Who were the Nephilim? Where do angels fit into the supernatural hierarchy? What relation does Jesus bear to the rest of the supernatural world? Heiser tackles these questions and many more as he shines a light on the ancient context of Scripture. After reading this book, you may never read your Bible the same way again. In Supernatural, Heiser takes the core message from his recent best-seller, The Unseen Realm, and presents it for the person in the pew. He offers the same approach to reading and understanding Scripture, but without all the extra footnotes and supporting information needed for the scholarly treatment. “We can’t believe what we don’t understand. In Supernatural, Michael Heiser helps us to do both. It may open your eyes to the scripture in a new way.” —John Ortberg, author of If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat

The Jefferson Bible by Thomas Jefferson,Wyatt North Pdf

The Jefferson Bible, or The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth as it is formally titled, was a book constructed by Thomas Jefferson in the latter years of his life by cutting and pasting numerous sections from various Bibles as extractions of the doctrine of Jesus. Jefferson's composition excluded sections of the New Testament containing supernatural aspects as well as perceived misinterpretations he believed had been added by the Four Evangelists. In 1895, the Smithsonian Institution under the leadership of librarian Cyrus Adler purchased the original Jefferson Bible from Jefferson's great-granddaughter Carolina Randolph for $400. A conservation effort commencing in 2009, in partnership with the museum's Political History department, allowed for a public unveiling in an exhibit open from November 11, 2011, through May 28, 2012, at the National Museum of American History.

The Unseen Realm by Heiser, Michael S. Pdf

In The Unseen Realm, Dr. Michael Heiser examines the ancient context of Scripture, explaining how its supernatural worldview can help us grow in our understanding of God. He illuminates intriguing and amazing passages of the Bible that have been hiding in plain sight. You'll find yourself engaged in an enthusiastic pursuit of the truth, resulting in a new appreciation for God's Word. Why wasn't Eve surprised when the serpent spoke to her? How did descendants of the Nephilim survive the flood? Why did Jacob fuse Yahweh and his Angel together in his prayer? Who are the assembly of divine beings that God presides over? In what way do those beings participate in God's decisions? Why do Peter and Jude promote belief in imprisoned spirits? Why does Paul describe evil spirits in terms of geographical rulership? Who are the "glorious ones" that even angels dare not rebuke? After reading this book, you may never read your Bible the same way again. Endorsements "There is a world referred to in the Scripture that is quite unseen, but also quite present and active. Michael Heiser's The Unseen Realm seeks to unmask this world. Heiser shows how important it is to understand this world and appreciate how its contribution helps to make sense of Scripture. The book is clear and well done, treating many ideas and themes that often go unseen themselves. With this book, such themes will no longer be neglected, so read it and discover a new realm for reflection about what Scripture teaches." --Darrell L. Bock, Executive Director for Cultural Engagement, Senior Research Professor of New Testament Studies, Howard G. Hendricks Center for Christian Leadership and Cultural Engagement "'How was it possible that I had never seen that before?' Dr. Heiser's survey of the complex reality of the supernatural world as the Scriptures portray it covers a subject that is strangely sidestepped. No one is going to agree with everything in his book, but the subject deserves careful study, and so does this book." --John Goldingay, David Allan Hubbard Professor of Old Testament, School of Theology, Fuller Theological Seminary "This is a 'big' book in the best sense of the term. It is big in its scope and in its depth of analysis. Michael Heiser is a scholar who knows Scripture intimately in its ancient cultural context. All--scholars, clergy, and laypeople--who read this profound and accessible book will grow in their understanding of both the Old and New Testaments, particularly as their eyes are opened to the Bible's 'unseen world.'" --Tremper Longman III, Robert H. Gundry Professor of Biblical Studies, Westmont College

Experience with the Supernatural in Early Christian Times by Shirley Jackson Case Pdf

The Bible is rich in miracles. Supernaturalism runs like a scarlet thread through the whole book from Genesis to Revelation. Many people tend to pass hastily over the miracle stories, however, and find greater satisfaction in the Bible's less spectacular portrayals of moral ideas and spiritual struggles. So how can we account for the prominence of the miraculous in Hebrew religion and more particularly in early Christianity? Why did the advocates of the new religion concern themselves so extensively with the imagery of supernaturalism? These are the questions Shirley Jackson Case seeks to answer in this provocative work. SHIRLEY JACKSON CASE (1872-1947) was a liberal theologian at the University of Chicago. Case was regarded as perhaps the finest scholar of the socio-historical method, which viewed the Bible as telling and reflecting the history of a movement that had its own needs and goals. She is also the author of The Historicity of Jesus, which is one of the earliest book-length scholarly refutations of the Jesus Myth.

The Supernatural in the Old Testament by John William Rogerson Pdf

When people read the Old Testament they are sometimes puzzled by the supernatural stories: animals that talk, jars of oil that are never empty, dead people restored to life, seas that divide and rivers that dry up. Some have no difficulty with such stories. This is the world of the Bible and the reader must expect such like. Those who cannot believe that have either abandoned the Bible and its world altogether or else they have devised ways of explaining (or explaining away ) events that puzzle them. John Rogerson does neither. Instead of asking what happened and how it happened he chooses instead to ask what it meant. Why did the early church relate and record these tales' And what did they mean' What did they say about God' So the reader begins to see that beyond the stories themselves there is truth about God and his world for every generation. Teachers will find useful lesson materials here, discussion group leaders will find something to start folk talking, and preachers will find a new approach to familiar passages. A companion volume, The Supernatural in the New Testament by Bruce Kaye, is also published by the Lutterworth Press.

The Messiah Code by C. Thornton Chick Pdf

What if there was an embedded Code in every chapter and verse of the Bible that is Empirical Proof the Bible is of Supernatural origin? The Messiah Code doesn’t just make that assertation-it empirically proves it to be true. After surviving three bouts with cancer, and a supernatural rescue from drowning, I always wondered what God had saved me for. I prayed about it for over thirty years, then, just before my eighty-fourth birthday, the Lord Yeshua Jesus revealed to me, that all numbers including chapter and verse in the Bible are personally signed by HIM with a supernatural mathematical algorithm that was hidden in plain sight. True believers accept that all 785,000 words of the Bible are the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God by faith. Unfortunately, an unbeliever always wants proof. Now, they can have it. The Lord Yeshua Jesus revealed to me the cypher to the mathematical code, and anyone, layman, scholar or skeptic, can discover for themselves the author of the Bible is Messiah Yeshua Jesus. If after disclosing the Messiah Code to your unbelieving friends and letting them test the empirical proof themselves, and they are still not 100% convinced the Bible is of supernatural origin, then with all due respect, they probably don’t believe in gravity. They are lost, but God is in the lost and found business. I am a layman, not a Bible scholar, I was a professional inventor for over forty years learning you cannot defy the laws of mathematics. Millions of patents are searched every year to determine If an idea is new or novel and 99% of all patent applications are dismissed because it is “obvious” the idea already exists. What is proven in the Messiah Code is obvious that imbedded in numbers of chapter and verse is the signature of our Lord Yeshua Jesus.

The Supernatural, the Occult, and the Bible by Gerald A. Larue Pdf

Several New Age magazines have devoted stories to a burgeoning "Cult of the Goddess." But this cult isn't a result of the women's movement or the product of environmental consciousness - nor is it really new. In fact, the Catholic Church has been making use of a similar cult for two thousand years. In this book, Gerald A. Larue examines the scriptural underpinnings of occult and supernaturalistic notions that survive in contemporary society. The Supernatural, the Occult, and the Bible is based on the author's thorough knowledge of the history of ancient Near-Eastern cultures and their mythology. Larue argues that biblical supernaturalism and modern occultism are two sides of the same coin, and illustrates in fascinating detail how they engender and support each other. He suggests that contemporary religions cannot shirk responsibility for some of the more foolish excesses of occult practice. Larue points out that present-day churchgoers are not as a matter of course made aware of archaeological findings that shed light on scriptural teachings - research into biblical and related languages, literary analyses of biblical texts, and studies of the relationship between concepts found in the Bible and aspects of contemporary occult beliefs and practices - and explains why this is so. The breadth of Larue's research and depth of insight, and his common sense approach, make this book both engrossing and important.
