The Church has historically played a significant role in the development and preservation of African American families. African American family preservation involves the appropriation of those spiritual and temporal resources, including values, traditions, methods, processes, systems, philosophies and theologies which will result in the ongoing sustainment, vitality and valuation of family structures and communities.This book offers a framework for the church's engagement in the task of African American family preservation.
