Paul on Trial by Gregory Robbins Pdf

The Apostle Paul claimed to have a different gospel than what Peter and the other apostles preached. Paul said that he had the gospel of the uncircumcision while Peter had the gospel of the circumcision. There was constant friction between the followers of Paul and the followers of the church in Jerusalem, during the New Testament narrative. Paul did not teach what Jesus taught, but taught a different gospel which he claimed to have received by revelation by Jesus Christ himself. Did Jesus contradict himself? Did he change the original gospel for a new one given only to Paul? Or was Paul lying about the entire matter? The contemporaries of Paul in the New Testament were the writers of Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, James, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Jude, and Revelation. All of these books are in agreement with one another. They were all written in approximately the same time frame as the epistles written by Paul. Yet the epistles written by Paul are in opposition to these books. The book that I have written goes into great detail about the differences between what Paul taught and what Jesus and the other New Testament writers taught. The only source material that is used is the Bible itself, based upon the King James version. This subject is possibly the most important subject to be considered by modern Christians. The modern church has rejected the teachings and the commands of Jesus Christ and is founded upon the Pauline Epistles. If Paul is indeed a liar, then the entire modern church is as the Church of Sardis in Revelation chapter three, "You have a name that you live, but you are dead." Be like the Bereans and study the scripture to see if these things are so. Study it all for yourself and do not trust your eternal salvation to what other people say.

Saint Paul the Apostle by Mary Fabyan Windeatt Pdf

We just found out theres a plan to kill you! blurted out one man among the little group of Christians as they stumbled into the house of Soul (who later became known as Paul). The murderers have been hired, and the Damascus authorities have agreed to look the other way, put in another breathlessly. For a moment there was silence from Saul. Well, what are you going to do? Whispered the visitors fearfully. Saul thought joyfully of how Saint Stephen had been martyred for Christ. But he knew that was not Gods will for him just yet. Ill leave Damascus and escape to Jerusalem, he answered. Ill go after dark. Will you help me? But the watchmen will never let you pass the city gates. Theyve all been bribed by you enemies. Well bypass the city gates, answered Saul calmly. Just let me explain. What did Saul have in mind? Would it be dangerous? And would it work? This book tells what happened. It also describes how Paul won victories over the Devil, how he was mistaken for a god, and how he faced court trials, scourging, imprisonment, angry mobs and, finally, martyrdom for Christ. In short, this is the story of the many adventures in the life of the great Saint Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles.

The Trials and Voyage of the Apostle Paul by William S. Stob Pdf

From the moment the Apostle Paul is saved from the angry mob in Jerusalem in Acts 21, the experiences of his Roman arrest and imprisonment form the basis of the remaining chapters in Acts. In Jerusalem before the Sanhedrin, Paul is alone in his defense against his enemies, and even the Church seems to have forsaken him. His only possible friend is the chief captain of the Roman guard. A plot on his life brings him to Caesarea, where he eventually makes his defense before such celebrities as Felix, Festus, Agrippa II and the beautiful Drusilla As a Roman citizen Paul's insistence to be heard by the emperor brings him to Rome on that fateful sea voyage in chapter 27, which is a climatic point in the epic story of his life. All on board the wrecked and grounded ship were cast into the sea--some swimming to shore, "some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land." The final chapter finds Paul in Rome awaiting trial, and "teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."

Trial of Christ by David K. Breed Pdf

The great fact, and the Eternal Fact, in the life of Jesus was his death, because of our sins, upon the Cross. This was the fact which St. Paul declared he preached to the Corinthians first of all"; not that they were the first to hear it; not that it merely came first in the enumeration of the great truths of the Gospel; but that it was first in importance, the Eternal Fact of Redemption. The steps, therefore, by which Jesus was brought to the Cross are of great interest to Christian lawyers. Here is a careful study from a lawyer's standpoint of the trial of Jesus."

The Letters of the Apostle Paul by Charles Vergeer Pdf

“Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked.” Who was this man who had undergone such tribulations? For centuries, Paul’s letters have been read in a theological context, forming as they do part of the foundation of the Christian faith. This book, however, maintains that it is important to read these letters in a different way, to learn to analyse them in their original, contemporary context. It scrutinizes Paul’s letters, showing that the texts as we now have them form a kind of palimpsest in which other layers and text fragments are visible. It also studies Paul’s views on the resurrection, investigating Paul’s idea of the son of God and the sermon in Athens with whetted-knife precision. In addition, it deals with the alleged letter to the Romans and considers the trial of Paul and his burial place in Rome. In such ways, it poses questions about the authenticity of the Pauline letters and comes up with surprising answers. As such, it represents a fascinating study that breaks with many traditional beliefs and creates space for radical new insights.
