Although this is based on a true story, there is a good deal of fiction in it; you decide which is which. I had the displeasure of owning a panelbeating business for eight years and during those long hard years I was often tempted to succumb to devious individuals offering get-rich-quick schemes. Thankfully I didn’t. Because I would not accommodate them, I received less and less work and the little I did get I had to do at give-away prices. In the end honesty cost me my business, my home, furniture, cars and pride. Thank God for my wife who stood by me through it all: That was ten years ago and I still have nightmares.
