Produces authorities for one fide and the Other, and points out the pronunciation which is preferable. Ln lliott, I have endeavoured to unite the ference of Mr. Elphinlton, the method of Mr Nares, and the general utility of Mr. Sheridan and, to add to there advan tages, have given critical obfervations on fuch words as are fubjeet to a diver fity of pronunciation, and have itivited the infpeetor to death according to analogy and the belt ufage.
