Eldritch Prisoners by David Conyers,John A. DeLaughter,Matthew Davenport,David Hambling Pdf

Earth is home to us, but to others it is a prison planet, where alien convicts are imprisoned in human bodies. Four tales by veteran Cthulhu Mythos authors explore the collisions between humans and unwilling visitors among us. “Broken Singularity" by David Conyers: Former soldier Harrison Peel is resurrected on a vacuum shrouded moon on the edge of the galaxy after a million-year, dead-but-undreaming slumber and forced to repeat the same day endlessly. Why is he ordered to collect alien artefacts and how is his fate entangled with three peculiar incidents in Earth’s distant past? Can he break the endless repeating day before he descends into eternal madness? “The Prisoner from Beyond" by Matthew Davenport: After the Civil War, two surviving members of the Esoteric Cavalry head west to recruit, and tame the land. Barrenstand is a town with a problem, a new man at the edge of town is giving them nightmares … that bite. Who is the stranger and where, exactly, did he come from? “Body Snatchers" by David Hambling: In 1920’s London, investigator Harry Stubbs is drawn into a case involving an apparent madman with impossible knowledge, and discovers a web of strange sects, multiple identities and an ancient conflict between occult powers, leading to an unforgettable graveyard encounter. “Leng’s Labythinth" by John DeLaughter: Exchange student Francois Delapont is a man on the run. After he witnesses a ritualistic murder in Chartres, inhuman forces pursue him to discover the apocalyptic secrets behind the cabalistic rites he observed. Will he escape them or die during an interrogation that promises to literally turn him inside out?

Or maybe that's just what he wants you to think. Experience such stories as a redneck family dealing with their insane body-snatching ancestor, a resurrected pharaoh trapped in a museum, a depraved family of British nobles out to harness ancient forces, and a post-apocalypse town under siege by a an immortal gun-slinging god's avatar. Whether a hero or an ordinary human, none can triumph but maybe they can survive for another day. Tales of Yog-Sothoth by C. T. Phipps,Matthew Davenport,David Hambling,David Niall Wilson,David J. West Pdf

Yog-Sothoth, known as the Key and the Gate and a host of other names, is H.P. Lovecraft's most enduring creation after the Necronomicon and Great Cthulhu itself. An eldritch god that occupies all time and space, Yog-Sothoth is most known for his role as the antagonist in The Dunwich Horror but has played a role in many other Cthulhu Mythos stories. Sometimes as a being invoked for spells, others as a monster trying to enter reality, and a few places as a giver of hidden wisdom. TALES OF YOG-SOTHOTH features several stories centered around the creepy deity and its monstrous intelligence. Featuring the work of several Neo-Mythos authors who have already dabbled in the world of cosmic horror. C.T. Phipps (Cthulhu Armageddon), David Niall Wilson (The Call of Distant Shores), David Hambling (Harry Stubbs), Matthew Davenport (Andrew Doran), and David J. West (Let Sleeping Gods Lie). Whether pulpy heroes punching evil cultists, robed assassins hunting unnatural monsters, or rednecks dealing with monsters in their back yard, you won't be disappointed with the results. This book is a follow-up to TALES OF THE AL-AZIF.

Mother of Learning: ARC 1 by nobody103,Domagoj Kurmaic Pdf

Zorian Kazinski has all the time in the world to get stronger, and he plans on taking full advantage of it. A teenage mage of humble birth and slightly above-average skill, Zorian is attending his third year of education at Cyoria's magical academy. A driven and quiet young man, he is consumed by a desire to ensure his own future and free himself of the influence of his family, resenting the Kazinskis for favoring his brothers over him. Consequently, Zorian has no time for pointless distractions, much less other people's problems. As it happens, though, time is something he is about to get plenty of. On the eve of Cyoria's annual summer festival, Zorian is murdered, then abruptly brought back to the beginning of the month, just before he was about to take the train to school. Finding himself trapped in a time loop with no clear end or exit, he will have to look both within and without to unravel the mystery set before him. He does have to unravel it, too, because the loop clearly wasn’t made for his sake, and in a world of magic even a time traveler isn't safe from those who wish him ill. Fortunately for Zorian, repetition is the mother of learning…

Bomber Command: Reflections of War, Volume 4 by Martin W. Bowman Pdf

This, the fourth volume of a five part work that provides a comprehensive insight into all aspects of RAF Bomber Command in World War Two, begins in the spring of 1944 with a completely new insight on the catastrophic raid on Nuremburg on the night of 30/31 March and follows with the disastrous attack on Mailly-le-Camp in May. Gradually, the Allied Bomber Offensive began to bear fruit and in June 1944 the invasion of Normandy took place under an umbrella of almost total Allied air superiority. RAF Bomber Command was to play a huge part in what proved to be the final steps to ultimate victory, returning to the mass raids on German cities by night and even mounting raids on the Reich by day. The authors well-tried formula of using background information interspersed with the crews personal narrative takes you raid by raid through each tour of ops while carrying full bomb loads in sub-zero temperatures, blighted by atrocious weather conditions and dogged by fear of fire, death or serious injury or having to endure months if not years of miserable existence and near starvation behind the wire in notorious PoW camps. The path to peace was paved with the unmitigated slow ebbing of courage with an ever-present possibility of death unannounced from a prowling night fighter, nondescript and unseen, as night after incessant night, shattered and ailing bombers could run out of luck to crash in some foreign field while other crews, almost home almost empty - ran out of fuel and died horrible tortuous deaths in twisted and tangled wreckage. Not for them the glory that was accorded The Few but as Winston Churchill said: Fighters are our salvation, but the bombers alone provide the means of victory.

Arapaho Women's Quillwork by Jeffrey D. Anderson Pdf

More than a hundred years ago, anthropologists and other researchers collected and studied hundreds of examples of quillwork once created by Arapaho women. Since that time, however, other types of Plains Indian art, such as beadwork and male art forms, have received greater attention. In Arapaho Women’s Quillwork, Jeffrey D. Anderson brings this distinctly female art form out of the darkness and into its rightful spotlight within the realms of both art history and anthropology. Beautifully illustrated with more than 50 color and black-and-white images, this book is the first comprehensive examination of quillwork within Arapaho ritualized traditions. Until the early twentieth century and the disruption of removal, porcupine quillwork was practiced by many indigenous cultures throughout North America. For Arapahos, quillwork played a central role in religious life within their most ancient and sacred traditions. Quillwork was manifest in all life transitions and appeared on paraphernalia for almost all Arapaho ceremonies. Its designs and the meanings they carried were present on many objects used in everyday life, such as cradles, robes, leanback covers, moccasins, pillows, and tipi ornaments, liners, and doors. Anderson demonstrates how, through the action of creating quillwork, Arapaho women became central participants in ritual life, often studied as the exclusive domain of men. He also shows how quillwork challenges predominant Western concepts of art and creativity: adhering to sacred patterns passed down through generations of women, it emphasized not individual creativity, but meticulous repetition and social connectivity—an approach foreign to many outside observers. Drawing on the foundational writings of early-nineteenth-century ethnographers, extensive fieldwork conducted with Northern Arapahos, and careful analysis of museum collections, Arapaho Women’s Quillwork masterfully shows the importance of this unique art form to Arapaho life and honors the devotion of the artists who maintained this tradition for so many generations.
