Honor by Kenneth Copeland Pdf

"In my study of the Word of God, I discovered something very important about honor. Honor carries and is supported by the supernatural power of God. An honorable man may look like a lamb being led to the slaughter. He may look like he has just stuck out his chin for someone to hit. He appears this way because he lives by biblical teachings and principles. If we choose to do the honorable thing if we choose to live by the Word of God then the honor of God will hold us up. He has promised us that He will honor us when we honor Him." Kenneth Copeland. Honor Today, almost an entire generation has never experienced God s honor and presence. Now we live in a dishonorable society because the concept of honor is not being passed on from parent to child. Many parents don't even know what it means to be honorable. What Does Honor Mean? This powerful and scriptural look at the biblical definition of honor will challenge you to live the honorable life and demonstrate that God has provided a way to live and succeed the honorable way.

Truth and Honour (new Edition) by Greg Marquis Pdf

Updated and expanded edition of national bestseller detailing the high-profile murder of Saint John businessman Richard Oland and the trial of his son Dennis Oland. Truth and Honour explores the 2011 murder of Saint John businessman Richard Oland, of the prominent family that owns Moosehead Breweries, the ensuing police investigation and the arrest, trial, and conviction of the victim's son Dennis Oland for second-degree murder. Oland's trial would be the most publicized in New Brunswick history. What the trial judge called "a family tragedy of Shakespearian proportions," this real-life murder mystery included adultery, family dysfunction, largely circumstantial evidence, allegations of police incompetence, a high-powered legal defence, and a verdict that shocked the community. Today, the Oland family maintains Dennis Oland's innocence. Author Greg Marquis, a professor of Canadian history at the University of New Brunswick Saint John, leads readers through the case, from the discovery of the crime to the conviction and sentencing of the defendant. Offering multiple perspectives, Truth and Honour explores this question: was Dennis Oland responsible for the death of his father? This updated edition features a new chapter following Dennis's imprisonment and successful 2016 appeal, his subsequent retrial, and controversial acquittal in July 2019.

Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, Volume One: Summary by Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Pdf

This is the Final Report of Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its six-year investigation of the residential school system for Aboriginal youth and the legacy of these schools. This report, the summary volume, includes the history of residential schools, the legacy of that school system, and the full text of the Commission's 94 recommendations for action to address that legacy. This report lays bare a part of Canada's history that until recently was little-known to most non-Aboriginal Canadians. The Commission discusses the logic of the colonization of Canada's territories, and why and how policy and practice developed to end the existence of distinct societies of Aboriginal peoples. Using brief excerpts from the powerful testimony heard from Survivors, this report documents the residential school system which forced children into institutions where they were forbidden to speak their language, required to discard their clothing in favour of institutional wear, given inadequate food, housed in inferior and fire-prone buildings, required to work when they should have been studying, and subjected to emotional, psychological and often physical abuse. In this setting, cruel punishments were all too common, as was sexual abuse. More than 30,000 Survivors have been compensated financially by the Government of Canada for their experiences in residential schools, but the legacy of this experience is ongoing today. This report explains the links to high rates of Aboriginal children being taken from their families, abuse of drugs and alcohol, and high rates of suicide. The report documents the drastic decline in the presence of Aboriginal languages, even as Survivors and others work to maintain their distinctive cultures, traditions, and governance. The report offers 94 calls to action on the part of governments, churches, public institutions and non-Aboriginal Canadians as a path to meaningful reconciliation of Canada today with Aboriginal citizens. Even though the historical experience of residential schools constituted an act of cultural genocide by Canadian government authorities, the United Nation's declaration of the rights of aboriginal peoples and the specific recommendations of the Commission offer a path to move from apology for these events to true reconciliation that can be embraced by all Canadians.

Honor Denied by Allen Cates Pdf

Air America flight crews, hired as civilians, but castigated as mercenaries, malcontents, and psychopaths, operated military aircraft and performed yeoman service for twenty-five years until the war in Southeast Asia ended on a rooftop in downtown Saigon. They have never been recognized for their sacrifices. Author and former Air America pilot Allen Cates cuts through the myths and subterfuge surrounding this elite stealth Air Force used by the United States to fight a secret war in Honor Denied. The culmination of Catess years as a pilot and his in-depth research into Air Americas murky past, this intense study follows his escape from rural, small-town America to the US Marines, as well as his time as an officer and pilot flying combat operations in Vietnam and rescue missions for Air America. Peppering the narrative with vivid personal details, Cates describes the background and purpose of this unique organization and then discloses the startling casualtiesboth those killed in action and those wounded and injured with permanent disability. He shines the light on their cause, long hidden from the general public, and reveals how these brave men and women were denied recognition and benefits by those who knew the truth, including the US President, secretaries of state and defense, and even the director of the CIA. Proud, yet never boastful, Honor Denied tells a story that needs to be toldand heard.

Our Good Name by J. Phillip London Pdf

The Crisis That Rocked a Country and a Company... In April 2004, an illegally leaked U.S. Army report thrust CACI, an information technology company, into the international spotlight by casting suspicion on a CACI employee for being "either directly or indirectly responsible" for the mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. At the same time, pictures from the abuses were shown on national television and tarnished anyone associated with Abu Ghraib--including CACI. What ensued was a media frenzy rarely seen by any company in recent decades. The media twisted the unsupported allegations into a guilty verdict without regard for the facts or the truth, creating a damning public perception of CACI. Our Good Name recounts how CACI battled to defend itself against erroneous and malicious reports by a rampaging media, how it responded to the wide-ranging government investigations, and how it overcame misplaced anger and criticism that put the company's dedicated employees and excellent reputation--even it's future--at risk. Our Good Name is CACI's story of facing one of the biggest scandals in recent history...and coming out honorably with its head high.

Death and Honor by W.E.B. Griffin,William E. Butterworth IV Pdf

June 1943. Many Germans—some of them high-ranking officers—believe the tides of war have turned against them. Increased activity suggests there may be truth to whispers heard by Office of Strategic Services spies: that the Nazis are extorting Jews outside Germany to buy their relatives’ freedom from extermination camps, then smuggling the ransom in Operation Phoenix to fund safe havens in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay for senior Nazi officials when Germany falls. With so much money and more at stake, lives are, too, and it’s up to USMC Major Cletus Frade—the top OSS spook in “neutral” Argentina—to find out. That is, before the ruthless Nazis order his murder...

The Book Itch by Vaunda Micheaux Nelson Pdf

In the 1930s, Lewis's dad, Lewis Michaux Sr., had an itch he needed to scratch—a book itch. How to scratch it? He started a bookstore in Harlem and named it the National Memorial African Bookstore. And as far as Lewis Michaux Jr. could tell, his father's bookstore was one of a kind. People from all over came to visit the store, even famous people—Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, and Langston Hughes, to name a few. In his father's bookstore people bought and read books, and they also learned from each other. People swapped and traded ideas and talked about how things could change. They came together here all because of his father's book itch. Read the story of how Lewis Michaux Sr. and his bookstore fostered new ideas and helped people stand up for what they believed in.
