Unitary Analysis, Synthesis, and Classification of Flow Meters by Horia Mihai Moțit Pdf

This book is the first to present flow measurement as an independent branch of the measurement techniques, according to a new global and unitary approach for the measurement of fluid flow field, starting from finding its unitary fundamental bases. Furthermore, it elaborates the method of unitary analysis/synthesis and classification of compound gauging structures (CGS): the UASC – CGS method. These methods ensure, in a systematic and predictable way, both the analysis of the types of flow meters made until present (i.e. CGS) and the synthesis of new types of flowmeters. The book outlines new contributions in this field, including separately, for flow meters, and CGS: structural schemes and their unitary, unitary classification, unitary logical matrix, method of unitary analysis/synthesis and classification.

Fundamentals of Reaction Flowmeters by Horia Mihai Moțit Pdf

This book is the first one that presents both the new elaborated method of the flow measurement, named by the author the "Flow Measurement Based on Reaction Force", including its specific "reaction measurement system", which ensures its practical implementation, and the new basic types of flowmeters, configured according to it, named "reaction flowmeters". These achievements were the result of the first implementation, in the last two years, of the Unitary Synthesis and Design Method of Flowmeters (European Patent EN the 3364159, granted in 2020). Due to its universality and flexibility, the "Flow Measurement Based on Reaction Force" keeps the same configuration of the reaction measurement system for the design of any new basic types of reaction flowmeters. The book presents the reaction flowmeters by following the logical sequence of their structural (implicitly functioning) evolution, which rendered the logical systematic way followed for their configuration. The book details successively (main analytical, constructive, and functional features) the individual (single) reaction flowmeters, configured both without and with moving parts, respectively, the specific connections of two single reaction flowmeters, named "extended reaction flowmeters" and the bypass type reaction flowmeters. All of these flowmeters can be used for both liquids and gases. Presenting the practical results and using the knowledge of the unitary bases of the flowmeters, identified by the previous book, Unitary Analysis, Synthesis, and Classification of Flow Meters (2018), this new publication is written for all specialists in the field of flow measurement and instrumentation, and especially for flowmeters manufacturers and R&D specialists, in addition to the teaching staff and students at such specialized, technical, and high-level universities. The book is also an efficient tool for predictable design of new types of reaction flowmeters, by following the logical steps (questions) already taken in the configuration of the reaction flowmeters presented, and by diversifying with new answers given to them.

Guyton & Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology - E-Book by Mario Vaz,Tony Raj Pdf

Guyton and Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology continues this bestselling title’s tradition as one of the world’s favourite physiology textbooks. The main aim of the South Asian Edition of Guyton & Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology is to meet the needs of undergraduate medical students and faculty in South Asia in alignment to the teaching methods in the subcontinent and also in terms of volume of content required. Presentation of the South Asian Edition is quite reflective of the way the lectures are being delivered in the classroom, both in terms of the breakup of topics and the basic level of detailing and explanations. The South Asian Edition incorporates several features aimed at aiding learning for students while retaining the flow and explanatory approach. Chapters have been rearranged and often split to work towards one chapter–one lecture model so that the text is linked to curriculum objectives which appeals to both students and faculty. Narrative length has been reduced while ensuring the original flow and explanation of concepts is not affected. Topics that are likely to be covered by other subjects and redundancies from the point of view of curriculum have been removed. Includes Learning Objectives and Glossary of Terms in the beginning of every chapter. Mobile App of physiology animations covering difficult and important concepts to enhance the learning process of students.

Information Technology in Medical Diagnostics by Waldemar Wójcik,Andrzej Smolarz Pdf

For many centuries, people have tried to learn about the state of their health. Initially, in the pre-technological period, they had to rely only on their senses. Then there were simple tools to help the human senses. The discovery of X-rays, which allowed people to look “inside” the body, turned out to be a major breakthrough. Contemporary medical diagnostics is increasingly being assisted by information technology that allows, for example, thorough image tissue analysis or pathology differentiation. They also allow very early preventive diagnostics. Influenced by information technology, “classic” diagnostic techniques change and new ones arise. Information Technology in Medical Diagnostics presents selected and extended conference papers from Polish, Ukrainian and Kazakh scientists. They address problems of the application of new methods of image processing for analysis of medical images, new methods of classification of medical data as well as new medical imaging methods. Some of the presented technologies are inspired by the functioning of living organisms. Information Technology in Medical Diagnostics is of interest not only to academics and engineers, but also to professionals involved in biomedical engineering, and seeking for solutions for issues that cannot be solved with the help of “traditional” technologies.

Notes on the Synthesis of Form by Christopher Alexander Pdf

"These notes are about the process of design: the process of inventing things which display new physical order, organization, form, in response to function." This book, opening with these words, presents an entirely new theory of the process of design. In the first part of the book, Christopher Alexander discusses the process by which a form is adapted to the context of human needs and demands that has called it into being. He shows that such an adaptive process will be successful only if it proceeds piecemeal instead of all at once. It is for this reason that forms from traditional un-self-conscious cultures, molded not by designers but by the slow pattern of changes within tradition, are so beautifully organized and adapted. When the designer, in our own self-conscious culture, is called on to create a form that is adapted to its context he is unsuccessful, because the preconceived categories out of which he builds his picture of the problem do not correspond to the inherent components of the problem, and therefore lead only to the arbitrariness, willfulness, and lack of understanding which plague the design of modern buildings and modern cities. In the second part, Mr. Alexander presents a method by which the designer may bring his full creative imagination into play, and yet avoid the traps of irrelevant preconception. He shows that, whenever a problem is stated, it is possible to ignore existing concepts and to create new concepts, out of the structure of the problem itself, which do correspond correctly to what he calls the subsystems of the adaptive process. By treating each of these subsystems as a separate subproblem, the designer can translate the new concepts into form. The form, because of the process, will be well-adapted to its context, non-arbitrary, and correct. The mathematics underlying this method, based mainly on set theory, is fully developed in a long appendix. Another appendix demonstrates the application of the method to the design of an Indian village.
