Varicose Veins and Related Disorders by David J. Tibbs Pdf

Varicose Veins and Related Disorders focuses on the valvular incompetence in the superficial veins. It evaluates the widespread valve failure in superficial and deep veins. It addresses the congenital venous disorders and the complication of superficial vein incompetence and varicose veins. Some of the topics covered in the book are the differential diagnosis and treatment of edema of the lower limb; acute and subacute deep vein thrombosis in the lower limb; venous and other vascular disorders affecting the upper limb; and role of perforator. The book discusses vascular factors in the management of leg ulcers and the interrelationship of venous disorders with ischemia and other conditions. It also tackles the surgical treatment of superficial vein incompetence; the functional phlebography in venous disorders of the lower limbs; and valveless syndrome and weak vein syndrome. The book can provide useful information to doctors, vascular surgeons, students, and researchers.

Venous Disorders of the Legs by Lawrence L. Tretbar Pdf

Within the last five years a number of new books on venous disorders have been produced. Previously the study of venous disease was well-served by the classic texts of Foote, Anning, Dodd and Cockett, and Hobbs, but these texts are now out of print and out of date. How does Larry Tretbar's book equate with its competition? Those of you who pick up or purchase this delightful little book will not be disappointed. It is a single author text which is clearly written and succinct. In just over 100 pages Tretbar distils the work of many of his larger competitors without losing any vital information along the way. He also provides new insights and ideas in many areas. Contents are set out in a standard format but the writing is pithy and the line drawings (mostly by the author himself) are clear and helpful. It excels in the management and treatment of varicose veins where the author has made his major contribution. The book contains many of the classic venous references though these of necessity cannot be comprehensive in the interest of brevity. Linton pointed out that diseases of the veins of the lower extremities are one of the commonest of human ailments that can be remedied by surgical measures. These disorders are often poorly managed by junior doctors who fail to acquaint themselves with the anatomy and pathophysiology of these disorders.

A Treatise on Venous Diseases by N Radhakrishnan Pdf

Venous disease is a condition in which the veins have problems sending blood from the legs back to the heart. Chronic venous disease is a long-term condition and occurs because a vein is partly blocked, or blood is leaking around the valves of the veins (MedlinePlus). Venous disorders are very common and whilst not usually life threatening, can cause pain and disability. This practical guide provides an understanding of the pathophysiology of venous diseases and their management. Beginning with an introduction to anatomy and physiology, the following chapters exam clinical manifestations, staging, and management options including laser therapy, surgery and sclerotherapy (injection of a substance directly into the vein). The final sections discuss more complex disorders such as deep vein thrombosis, chronic venous ulcer and morbid varicose vein. The final chapter provides a photographic presentation of venous diseases to enhance understanding of the text. Key points Practical guide providing understanding of pathophysiology of venous diseases and their management Covers common disorders (varicose veins) and more complex diseases (deep vein thrombosis) Examines various treatment options including laser therapy and surgery Includes photographic presentation of venous diseases

Venous Disease by Charles V. Ruckley,Francis G.R. Fowkes,Andrew W. Bradbury Pdf

Varicose veins are a very common problem. The precise aetiology of primary varicose veins remains unclear. It seems likely from the available evidence that inherited structural weakness combined with haemodynamic or microcirculatory abnormalities eventually lead to reduced vein wall elasticity, dilatation and the formation of varicosities. Increasing age, female gender, parity and occupation may all promote the development of varicose veins in susceptible individuals. Further clinical and experimental studies are necessary if the relative contribution of each of these factors is to be fully elucidated. References 1. Editorial. The treatment of varicose veins. Current Management of Venous Diseases by Cassius Iyad Ochoa Chaar Pdf

This text provides an overview of venous diseases and focuses on clinical evaluation and management. It is intended to guide the treating physician by summarizing the evidence, giving technical tips, and outlining algorithms for common conditions. A unique feature of this book is clinical pearls given by experts in the field that are highlighted in each chapter. The first section of the book describes the essential anatomy and physiology/pathophysiology. It also includes evaluation of common presentations of venous diseases such as extremity edema and lower extremity ulceration with a summary for work up that includes conditions that can mimic venous diseases. The organization of the book follows the basic pathophysiology of venous disorders with chapters addressing special conditions of common interest such as pelvic congestion syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, and May-Thurner syndrome. There is emphasis on novel treatment modalities and emerging technologies through dedicated chapters to anticoagulant agents, emerging modalities to treat superficial venous reflux and venous stent technology. Finally, this book is a melting pot for physicians who have shown dedication and passion to the care of patients with venous disease regardless of specialty and location. The authors are an international panel of vascular experts who trained in vascular surgery, interventional radiology, interventional cardiology, hematology, pulmonology and critical care medicine. Therefore, the book will be of great value to the physicians and trainees in those specialties and to any person interested in developing in depth knowledge of the management of venous diseases.

Practical Approach to the Management and Treatment of Venous Disorders by Neil S. Sadick,Neil Khilnani,Nick Morrison Pdf

This text evolved as a response to numerous requests to present a simplified approach to the diagnosis and management of most of the common aspects of both cosmetic and medical venous disorders. The authors, representing experienced plebologists from several different primary disciplines, have attempted to present simplistic paradigm-oriented approaches on how to thoughtfully evaluate and manage common vein issues with contemporary solutions. Several areas of phlebology were not addressed in this text. The management of vascular malformations are beyond the scope of this text and were not covered in detail. Although indications for the appropriate use of IVC filters are discussed, the details about the specific devices, their placement and removal are also beyond the scope of this text. Deep venous obstruction from prior thrombosis, venous compression by arteries such as the compression of the left common iliac vein by the right common iliac artery and pelvic venous insufficiency can now be managed with minimally invasive image guided treatments; the technical aspects of such treatments are complex and not discussed in detail in this handbook. This book will increase the therapeutic skill of the practicing phlebologist and thus increase the quality of care for patients faced with problems related to venous disorders.
