Vibroacoustic Simulation by Alexander Peiffer Pdf

VIBROACOUSTIC SIMULATION Learn to master the full range of vibroacoustic simulation using both SEA and hybrid FEM/SEA methods Vibroacoustic simulation is the discipline of modelling and predicting the acoustic waves and vibration of particular objects, systems, or structures. This is done through finite element methods (FEM) or statistical energy analysis (SEA) to cover the full frequency range. In the mid-frequency range, both methods must be combined into a hybrid FEM/SEA approach. By doing so, engineers can model full frequency vibroacoustic simulations in complex technical systems used in aircraft, trains, cars, ships, and satellites. Indeed, hybrid approaches are increasingly used in the automotive, aerospace, and rail industries. Previously covered primarily in scientific journals, Vibroacoustic Simulation provides a practical approach that helps readers master the full frequency range of vibroacoustic simulation. Through a systematic approach, the book illustrates why both FEM and SEA are necessary in acoustic engineering and how both can be used in combination through hybrid methodologies. Striking a crucial balance between complex theories and practical applications, the text provides real-world examples of vibroacoustic simulation, such as fuselage simulation, interior-noise prediction for electric and combustion vehicles, train profiles, and more, to help elucidate the concepts described within. Vibroacoustic Simulation also features: A balance of complex theories with the nuts and bolts of real-world applications Detailed worked examples of junction equations Case studies from companies like Audi and Airbus that illustrate how the methods discussed have been applied in real-world projects A companion website that provides corresponding Python codes for all examples, allowing readers to work through the examples on their own Vibroacoustic Simulation is a useful reference for acoustic and mechanical engineers working in the automotive, aerospace, defense, or rail industries, as well as researchers and graduate students studying acoustics.

Simulation of the Noise Transmission through Automotive Door Seals by Andreas Hazir Pdf

Andreas Hazir is investigating the door seal contribution to the interior noise level of production vehicles. These investigations contain experimental contribution analyses of real production vehicles and of academic test cases as well as the development of a simulation methodology for noise transmission through sealing systems and side windows. The simulations are realized by coupling transient computational aeroacoustics of the exterior flow to nonlinear finite element simulations of the structural transmission. By introducing a linear transmission model, the setup and computational costs of the seal noise transmission are significantly reduced, resulting in the feasibility of numerical contribution analyses of real production vehicles.

Vibration and Structural Acoustics Analysis by C.M.A. Vasques,J. Dias Rodrigues Pdf

Vibration and structural acoustics analysis has become an essential requirement for high-quality structural and mechanical design in order to assure acoustic comfort and the integrity, reliability and fail-safe behavior of structures and machines. The underlying technologies of this field of multidisciplinary research are evolving very fast and their dissemination is usually scattered over different and complementary scientific and technical publication means. In order to make it easy for developers and technology end-users to follow the latest developments and news in the field, this book collects into a single volume selected, extended, updated and revised versions of papers presented at the Symposium on Vibration and Structural Acoustics Analysis, coordinated by J. Dias Rodrigues and C. M. A. Vasques, which was organised as part of the 3rd International Conference on Integrity, Reliability & Failure (IRF’2009), co-chaired by J. F. Silva Gomes and Shaker A. Meguid, held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, Portugal, 20-24 July 2009. These papers where chosen from the more than 60 papers presented at the conference symposium. Written by experienced practitioners and researchers in the field, this book brings together recent developments in the field, spanning across a broad range of themes: vibration analysis, analytical and computational structural acoustics and vibration, material systems and technologies for noise and vibration control, vibration-based structural health monitoring/evaluation, machinery noise/vibration and diagnostics, experimental testing in vibration and structural acoustics, applications and case studies in structural acoustics and vibration. Each chapter presents and describes the state of the art, presents current research results and discusses the need for future developments in a particular aspect of vibration and structural acoustics analysis. The book is envisaged to be an appealing text for newcomers to the subject and a useful research study tool for advanced students and faculty members. Practitioners and researchers may also find this book a one-stop reference that addresses current and future challenges in this field. The variety of case studies is expected to stimulate a holistic view of sound and vibration and related fields and to appeal to a broad spectrum of engineers such as the ones in the mechanical, aeronautical, aerospace, civil and electrical communities.

New Advances in Modal Synthesis of Large Structures: Non-linear Damped and Non-deterministic Cases by Louis Jezequel Pdf

The modal analysis of the structures appears to be an essential tool to master their dynamic behaviour. Particularly, the modal synthesis methods combined with the updating technics of the Finite Element models lead to the definition of strategies peculiarly efficient. At present, several developments are being carried out in order to spread these procedures to the latest requirements in structural dynamics: Vibro-acoustic . behaviour; Stochastic approach; Non-linear analysis; Introduction of composite materials. The target of the MV2 International Conference was to take stock of the new methods suggested and to assess their effectiveness. The interest in this book is to gather original works that rely on high-level approaches although these works are clearly intended to industrual applications.

Healthy and energy efficient buildings by Sunil K. Sansaniwal,Roberto Alonso González-Lezcano Pdf

This Research Topic on 'Healthy and Energy Efficient Buildings' focuses on the emerging need for sustainable and healthy indoor environments. The built environment contributes significantly to energy consumption and environmental degradation, leading to adverse effects on human health and well-being. Therefore, this Research Topic aims to bring together cutting-edge research that addresses the complex interplay between building energy efficiency and occupant health. The scope of the Research Topic covers topics such as energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, sustainable energy, health and well-being, building codes and standards, energy management and green building practices. The ultimate goal of the Research Topic is to promote sustainable building practices and enhance the well-being of building occupants while reducing the environmental impact of buildings. While energy efficiency has become a top priority in building design, there has been less emphasis on creating indoor environments that are conducive to good health. To achieve the goal of this Research Topic, recent advances in building design, construction, and operation must be incorporated. These include the use of advanced materials and technologies, such as smart sensors and automation systems that can monitor and control indoor air quality, temperature, and lighting levels to create optimal indoor conditions for occupants. Additionally, the integration of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, can help reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. In order to promote healthy buildings, there is a need for more research on the impact of building design and materials on indoor air quality and occupant health. This includes exploring the use of natural ventilation and passive cooling strategies, as well as the use of low-emitting materials and finishes that do not off-gas harmful chemicals. This Research Topic seeks to address the need for sustainable buildings that prioritize both energy efficiency and occupant health.
