Vinegar of the Four Thieves by Donna R. Causey Pdf

This book is a compilation of some of the funny and helpful tips from our past history. Some recipes and tips date back to 1770s. One or two sound a little dangerous and I would never try them myself, but I've included then in this book for their humorous and historical value. A few are useful, especially for our 'green' society today

Gattefosse's Aromatherapy by Rene Maurice Gattefosse Pdf

Here is the missing link in Essential Oil literature, the first modern work written by the man who coined the word 'Aromatherapy.' In July 1910 René- Maurice Gattefossé discovered the healing properties of lavender oil after severely burning his hands in a laboratory explosion. This led him into a lifetime of research into Essential Oils. His remarkable book was first published in 1937 and has been out of print for many years. Now translated, it has been edited by Robert Tisserand, author of three books on aromatherapy (including the best-seller, The Art of Aromatherapy), editorial adviser of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine and editor of The International Journal of Aromatherapy. The book is a fascinating blend of ancient and modern knowledge and aromatherapists will find it an essential tool of reference. Extensive notes are provided by Robert Tisserand at the back of the book. Chapters include those on human smells and animal smells, toxicity, the properties of essential oils and their constituents, the treatment of many diseases, and over fifty case studies from doctors.

Utterly Wicked by Dorothy Morrison Pdf

Protect yourself (and maybe indulge in a little payback) with practical instructions from one of the most beloved figures of Wicca and the Neo-Pagan movement. “Utterly Wicked is one of the most important books I own and one that every serious witch and magickal practitioner should have on their shelf.” —Mat Auryn, author of The Psychic Witch Hexes, curses, and other unsavory notions—most magical practitioners won’t even discuss them. Why? Because they’d much rather find a positive solution that benefits all concerned. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Occasionally, though, our problems are such that nothing in the positive solution arena will handle them. It’s time to make a decision to stand tough, be strong, and take definitive action to defend ourselves. And if you‘re ready to do that—if you‘re ready to own that action and take responsibility for it—then Utterly Wicked is for you. Jam-packed with more than one hundred rituals, incantations, hexes, and curses, this is the quintessential primer for learning all the magical tricks no one wants to talk about. Do you know the proper way to enter a cemetery? Utterly Wicked tells you how, as well as the proper methods for collecting and using graveyard dirt. Explore the little-known secrets of the 11-inch fashion doll, and see why it‘s become such a valuable magical tool. Vinegars of the World by Laura Solieri,Paolo Giudici Pdf

Vinegars can be considered as acidic products of special importance for the enri- ment of our diet, and resulting from the desired or controlled oxidation of ethanol containing (liquid) substrates. The traditional use and integration of vinegars in numerous cultures can be traced back to ancient times. In fact, the cultural heritage of virtually every civilization includes one or more vinegars made by the souring action (of micro-organisms) following alcoholic fermentation. It has been do- mented that the Egyptians, Sumerians and Babylonians had experience and tech- cal knowledge in making vinegar from barley and any kind of fruit. Vinegar was very popular both in ancient Greece and Rome, where it was used in food prepa- tions and as remedy against a great number of diseases. In Asia, the first records about vinegar date back to the Zhou Dynasty (1027-221 BC) and probably China’s ancient rice wines may have originally been derived from fruit, for which (malted) rice was substituted later. The historical and geographical success of vinegars is mainly due to the low technology required for their production, and to the fact that several kinds of raw materials rich in sugars may easily be processed to give vinegar. In addition, vi- gars are well-known and accepted as safe and stable commodities that can be c- sumed as beverages, health drinks or added to food as preservatives or as flavo- ing agents.

But when Nick set out to explore the native outback of the Americas - meeting healers, shamans, and medicine women and tapping their well of ancient wisdom, nearly lost to the rest of the world - he had to bend that rule. As he found his way into highly sacred and often very private shamanic ceremonies, not participating ceased to be an option. Nick invites readers along on his journey of discovery to make indigenous knowledge of healing accessible to us all.
