"Whisper Mountain is the lair of the beast," say the frightened mountain elves. "Beware the Shadow Demon, for it will hunt you down and eat you alive." Whisper Mountain gets its name from the cries of ghosts echoing down its slopes, the souls of victims who have run afoul of the demon. Miss Simone agrees the mountain is worth investigating, but as leader of the village, she has more immediate problems to deal with. A squad of armed soldiers has just crossed over from the old world, bringing with them the strong possibility of an industrialized, technologically advanced human invasion that threatens the magical land forever. The shapeshifters set off to the mountain, hoping all this talk of demons and ghosts is just superstitious nonsense. What they find there surprises everybody...

Many of us spend a great deal of our time dreaming about our next trip to the mountains, whether for a weekend getaway or our yearly vacation. We hear within that deep inexplicable pull toward the wilderness and would agree with John Muir, who said: "The mountains are calling and I must go." We sense that in the wild we are touching the edge of something that is both wonderful and mysterious. In this book Erik Stensland, a professional landscape photographer based in Estes Park, Colorado, explores this longing we have for the wilderness and suggests that it is the trailhead for a journey to wholeness. Through short daily reflections on the natural world paired with his gorgeous photos from Rocky Mountain National Park, he encourages us to go deeper within ourselves and discover the healing that nature is offering.

This is a collection of essays, short stories and book excerpts on various subjects. There are technical articles on our vision... there are stories on the out of doors... including a HOW TO on doing that trip of a lifetime... there is an excerpt from my Book, "Across the Wide Missouri" telling the story of the early mountain men and their relationships with the Natives they found... another is from my yet to be published book, "After Armageddon" chronicling a small group of survivors of the earth's impact with an asteroid the size of the one that did in the dinosaurs and 9 of ten species living prior to that 65 million years ago event... This book was primarily written to be a teaching tool. It will encourage readers to spend more time in the bible and make it fun as well. This book gives you an in-depth study of the characters in the bible, ranging from the obvious to the obscure. This book will not just give you answers like most books. There may be many different references to each riddle. This book was written with a wide range scope. My choice was to make the riddles range from very simple to extremely challenging. The simple ones were written to help capture the attention of the children, the unsaved, and the average saint. Even theologians will find this book informative, captivating and challenging.
