Karma by Percell Smith Pdf

Karma in the Life After is about young a street hustler who died but he didn’t know that he was dead. He was transformed into a fly in the afterlife. He suffered the pain of dying as a fly. He also was seeing old friends whom had died years before him. They were living a miserable life in the afterlife. He was able to see his friends dying over and over. They were getting killed in the shape of animals and insects. Somehow, he was able to see them dying as humans. If they were not dying, they were going through a lot of pain. They did so much wrong on earth that they never got a chance to meet the creator. The young hustler was able to see the mysteries and answers to questions he always had in real life. He was living as a fly in the afterlife and was attracted to the things real flies were attracted to. He often prayed and hope it was all a dream. He no longer knew the time of day or the day of the week. Everyday seemed to be the same. When he met his guardian in the new life he didn’t know if he was there to help him or make fun of him. Then he realized he only died when his guardian disappeared. He was able to see the things that others could’ve own if they lived an honest life. During this afterlife he realized that he didn’t want to die. He now realized that the life he lived wasn’t a good one. He did not want to live as an insect that was being killed every ten minutes. He didn’t want to eat dog poop forever and he was no longer wanted to see his friends die over and over. Everything was becoming too painful to watch.

Treats, Play, Love by Patricia Gail Burnham Pdf

Treats, Play, Love is the collected wisdom of Patricia G. Burnham, the author of the highly successful Playtraining Your Dog, which has been in print for more than twenty-five years. Now, after fifty years in the business, she brings to this new book a focus on food training your dog with small treats, while still incorporating fun and games into teaching basic and advanced obedience. Burnham uses no compulsive training or punishment for incorrect or unwanted behaviors (such as barking, biting, urinating inside, or begging), but rather offers rewards for correct behavior, thus reinforcing it. Topics covered include: · Basic obedience training for puppies (exercises for sit, down, heel, and stay) · House manners for older puppies and adult dogs (no whining or barking) · Recipes for tasty dog treats that your four-legged friend will do anything for · Understanding your dog's personality · Preventing dog bites · Dealing with shy or fearful dogs · Advice and exercises for training and showing a dog in obedience trials in novice class, open class, and utility class · Reflections on the end of your dog's life There are more than 100 photos and line drawings throughout the book to illustrate movements and exercises, and for owners who want to show their dogs, there are detailed descriptions of what they can expect once they enter the ring. Although Burnham works almost exclusively with greyhounds (which are notoriously difficult to train), her wisdom and expertise apply to all breeds, and her warmth, sound advice, and personal tone make Treats, Play, Love a joy to use.

You Gotta Be Kidding! by Workman Publishing Pdf

Gross, embarrassing, and just plain silly questions about boogers, bugs, smelly socks, itchy scabs, and more! Adapted from the hugely popular board game, this interactive and completely engaging book serves up hundreds of bizarre, embarrassing, sometimes ethical and sometimes stomach-churning dilemmas that kids will love to pose to their friends and siblings, whether in the backseat, on a sleepover, at a party, on a rainy day, or during a lull in the lunchroom (if you dare). Ponder the icky: Would you rather eat 10 pounds of cheese -OR- a bucket of peanut butter—with nothing to drink? The exponentially icky: Would you rather drink liquid found leaking from a garbage can -OR- chew on a hairy clump found between the cushions of an old couch? The fantastic: Would you rather be able to talk with all animals -OR- be able to understand all languages? The priority-testing: As a soccer player, would you rather mess up and score a goal for the other team but still have your team win -OR- play your best game ever even though your team loses? And the hair-raising: Would you rather swim across a river that is filled with crocodiles -OR- spend the night on an island where man-eating tigers live? Fascinating sidebars throughout are filled with interesting ancillary information—the nature of drool, left-handedness vs. right-handedness, what’s dangerously filthy and what’s just gross, why we blush when we’re embarrassed—so kids can learn something as they laugh!

Raising Contributors in a Culture of Consumerism and Skepticism by Dr. Brandon Tatum Pdf

What do we want for the next generation? What does our future hold? What can we do as adults to foster a positive future for our kids? Most parents, grandparents, teachers, and ministers I talk to want to equip the next generation with the necessary tools to be difference makers in their world, but they don't know how to. It feels as if we are fighting against a cultural wave that is making it harder and harder to lead our kids to love God and make a difference. So what do we do? This book takes a deep look into the culture of Generation Z and Generation Alpha. The intent is to create an understanding of how to raise a generation of contributors to the kingdom and how to remove the barriers that stand in our way. We all know that these emerging generations are welcoming us into a new digital frontier full of consumption, technology, and entertainment that is more focused on happiness than contribution. Our kids are also living in a world of skepticism about truth and faith. We will unpack these faith questions and explore the tensions that exist between older and younger generations. Our kids are the future of our churches, cities, states, and country. It is critical that we begin to acknowledge that as adults, we must be intentional in understanding the culture our kids live in and be humble in our approaches to developing them as faithful servants and successful adults. So how do we raise contributors? Let's begin to discuss practical ways to raise kids who are image bearers and difference makers. I call these kids contributors.

The Girl from Cairo by Peggy Hinaekian Pdf

“For many of us in the disconnected 21st century, it is time to speak about our heritage. This memoir creates a whole world bridging memory and narrative. It has a sense of longevity, no so much in the number of years, but with the depth and range of felt experiences. The writer is an artist who brings to the page an astute eye for the meaning of belonging and identity as she shifts between her many selves. There’s a real sense of looking at people in the Middle Eastern world through the lens of her mixed ethnicity—Egyptian, British, Armenian. The sense of tension with her characters, particularly her roguish, bon-vivant father, who gambled away the family fortune, and her strong-willed, fashionable but secretive mother ever vigilant about neighbors gossiping as they lived in gentile poverty. Nevertheless, she maintained a sense of normalcy while railing in her “headstrong” daughter. “The memoir finds humor in dark places like a childhood spent in trauma, cowering from overhead bombing raids during WWII, telling how entire families were able to find resilience to survive constant danger. Following WWII, Peggy’s fascination with American GIs stationed in Cairo sets her off on a life path. When the Suez Canal political upheaval after “Black Saturday” happens, it catapults her to leave Egypt. “The author’s coming of age story is composed of her education in a Catholic Girls’ School, her sexual awakening, her first love, and her childhood daydreams of becoming a film star or a fashion designer that sets her on a journey through several countries: Canada, Switzerland and the U.S.A. The narrative plays on the reader’s question of ‘what’s next?’ as the writer weaves her family story with compassion, finding inspiration in the ‘showing’ of ordinary people living their lives against an exotic and, often, foreign backdrop.” “Frances Roberts Reilly--poet, playwright and memoirist”.
