Words & Choices, These are the Issues of Life by Rex Fritchey Pdf

Rex digs deep, beneath the surface of superficial understanding of our behavior to show how, VITALLY IMPORTANT, and POWERFUL, the 'words and choices' we use are throughout our lives. Man is a free moral agent created by God to make these choices. GOD'S WORDS and His PROMISES guarantee BLESSINGS applied to our lives. Our words and choices, often idle, corrupt, and selfishly motivated, serves an idle, corrupt, world, void of Godly understanding. Corruption breeds corruption... God's Holiness and God's Righteousness, given freely by Him to ALL believers, produces balance, and "good fruit" in our lives. It's our choice, blessings, OR curses. These choices shape our thoughts, belief system, daily walk, our character, and, ultimately, our FINAL DESTINY...Heaven or hell!

Bioethics, Law, and Human Life Issues by D. Brian Scarnecchia Pdf

Bioethics, Law, and Human Life Issues: A Catholic Perspective on Marriage, Family, Contraception, Abortion, Reproductive Technology, and Death and Dying draws on the Magisterial teaching of the Catholic Church to outline a Catholic response to a host of controversial issues related to human life. Scarnecchia lays out a Catholic moral theology based on the writings of Pope John Paul II and Thomas Aquinas, and he then applies those Christian moral principles to today's most contentious ethical issues, including reproductive technology, embryo adoption, contraception, abortion, family and same-sex marriage, and euthanasia and assisted suicide. This review of Catholic moral principles brings together an in-depth consideration of the central human life issues of our day with abundant reference to the Church's social teaching and to contrasting positions of today's leading ethicists.

Assessment and Intervention Issues Across the Life Span by Stephanie M.C. Dollinger,Lisabeth F. DiLalla,Stephanie MC Dollinger Pdf

This volume evolved from the second life span development conference held at Southern Illinois University entitled "Assessment and Intervention Across the Lifespan." Providing an overview and consideration of important directions for research in areas of assessment and intervention across the lifespan, the presentations covered a variety of topic areas including social ecology, cultural diversity, attitudes about aging, as well as attention, visual, and linguistic skills. This volume consists of chapters based on the conference presentations as well as additional chapters by experts in related specialty areas discussing attachment theory, learning disabilities, and phonological processing. The second conference and volume continue the work of the first conference and its associated earlier volume. The chapters cover important interactions between assessment and intervention for each major developmental period; several emphasize the importance of early assessment and intervention. A common theme found throughout is the critical connection between basic research and practice. The editors hope this book will prove useful not only to researchers, but also to practitioners in related disciplines working with individuals of all ages.

Quality of Life Assessment: Key Issues in the 1990s by S.R. Walker,Rachel M. Rosser Pdf

It was over five years ago that the Centre for Medicines Research organized a workshop entitled "Quality of Life: Assessment and Application". This workshop brought together a unique group of participants, some of whom had been involved in studies on quality of life for well over a decade, whilst others were meeting the subject for the first time. This blend of experienced researchers and enthusiastic newcomers was a great stimulus to the discus sions which followed individual presentations as well as that resulting from the study groups. In the ensuing publication, a balance was sought between a consideration of the complex principles underlying the assessment of quality of life and the application of such assessments to specific clinical conditions which necessitated this approach. The organization in 1991 of a second workshop entitled "Quality of Life Assessment: Key Issues in the 1990s" resulted in a further consideration of the quality of life philosophy, concepts and key instruments together with an update on assessing quality of life in a number of major disease areas. Of particular importance was an examination of various viewpoints concerned with ethical questions and their implications, and quality oflife from industry, regulatory and health care purchasers' perspectives. As a result of this second workshop, the editors of the original book referred to above decided to produce a second edition with a number of updates and additional chapters.
