Wounds That Never Heal... 'Broken' by Hazel Longley Pdf

The events of this story are true. It begins when the author was 11 and first learnt that she had been adopted. At 19, she walked out on a wonderful family, with a husband who loved her deeply and gave her three beautiful babies. She turned her her back on them and climbed on a train to London to find her birth mother. Being innocent, she had no idea that she would soon be homeless and sleeping on park benches in Hyde Park and mixing with drug addicts, eventually working for the Maltese Mafia, who employed her as a striptease dancer in their clubs in Soho. She eventually lived with one of these Mafia men who always carried a gun and she was slowly groomed into that life. She was not allowed to go to work without being followed or watched by this violent man, although she was besotted by him. He would beat her or slap her for no reason and still she stayed. She finally escaped the violence by walking the streets yet again with nothing except the clothes she wore. Terrified, she picked up men for sex to earn money and finally met a man whom she married and who took her back to her hometown. She had witnessed violence and murder and endured violence herself, but now she is in her golden years. She has gone through four husbands, two of whom tried to murder her and almost killed her, but she can now put the truth out there for young women who are thinking of running away to London, believing the streets are paved with gold. She can assure them that they are not. Her experiences were heartbreaking, violent and soul-destroying, but she is still here to tell her story... A childhood that could hardly be remembered, teenage years that were unforgettable, then came the unknown: fear, physical and mental abuse, pain, terror and beatings, drug abuse and going yet again into the unknown, resulting in rescue and contentment and peace... No one should travel the path I took... This book is a must-read and should be given to any young person thinking of doing what I did... JUST DON'T, as only heartbreak will follow. It followed me and still does. That's why I remain BROKEN.

When Kids Call the Shots by Sean Grover Pdf

If you want to fix your rebellious and disrespectful child, you need to start by fixing yourself. Are your kids pummeling you with demands and bossing you around with impunity? Have your once-precious preschoolers become rebellious, entitled, and disrespectful to authority? While there are plenty of so-called experts who might try to validate your convictions that you have done all you can to “fix” your “difficult” children, the hard truth is, they’re not doing you any favors by placing the responsibility solely on your children. Parenting struggles rarely originate from just one side. Instead, they erupt at the volatile intersection of a child's personality with a parent's own insecurities and behaviors. In When Kids Call the Shots, therapist and parenting expert Sean Grover untangles the forces driving family dysfunction, and helps parents assume their leadership roles once again. Parents will discover: Three common bullying styles used by kids Parenting styles that contribute to power balances Critical testing periods in a child’s development Coping mechanisms that backfire Personalized plans for calmly exerting authority in any scenario The solution to any problem begins with learning to control what you can control. In parenting, you’ve already learned how impossible it is to control your kids. Begin by controlling you!

Wounds That Never Heal by Ellen Williamson Pdf

Bhakti is a real, genuine search after God, a search beginning, continuing and ending in love. One single moment of madness of extreme love to God brings us eternal freedom. Devotional service is a process of spiritual understanding. Wherever devotional service exists, the material contamination cannot coexist. The book "Bhakti - Devotion" discusses Bhakti using various approaches. These include: a) Collection of "Sayings" from the Shastras. The ancient Hindu Shastras such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Puranas, Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagavata, etc., contain invaluable Sayings' which are a source of enlightenment. b) Sage Narada's Bhakti-aphorisms. Sage Narada describes Bhakti as "intense love to God; when a man gets it, he loves all, hates none; he becomes satisfied for ever." c) A discussion of "Bhakti-Yoga - The Path of Devotion", Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita. This chapter takes us deeper into the concept of Bhakti. d) "Bhaktas - Devotees" of the Lord. Their lives are a source of inspiration and instill in us a sense of devotion. e) Shri Adi Shankaracharya's devotional song "Bhaja Govindam". It is enchanting and elevates the mind to a higher plane. f) Sanskrit Epithets of Lord Krishna and Arjuna used in the Bhagavad Gita. There is great depth in their meanings.

You Can’T Heal a Wound by Saying It’S Not There by Dr. Saundra J. Taulbee Pdf

Today, men and women are running around empty, trying to fill a void with addictions to work, busyness, alcohol, drugs, high debt, pornography, serial dead-end relationships, and sex without commitment. My book speaks about the futility of this empty search and helps you find peace and meaning beyond yourself. You Cant Heal a Wound by Saying Its Not There is about recognizing the wounds we all have from growing up that cripple us until we face them and overcome them. Written in a case study format and interspersed with poignant illustrations and memoirs from the authors life, this book helps people identify what they need to do to grow up and become all that God intended so that they can use their life to help someone else be better. I have learned much from people who have taught me over the years in private psychotherapy practice. I have also learned much from people I have served in churches and from our church systems that sometimes leave people marginalized. Thus, I have a passion for and am drawn to those who have been alienated for one reason or another from church and institutionalized religion. With that said, I am currently planting a new church with outreach to people who feel disconnected from God. (www.connectionscommunitychurchirvine.net)
