Craving a Hero: A Military Romance Collection by Kate Aster Pdf
Are you craving a hero? Allie certainly is... as she finds herself falling for the hot Navy SEAL who wants to adopt her beloved rescue dog. Then there's Annie who's hiding secrets from her Army Ranger boss in Hawaii... Freya who discovered she is head over heels for her SEAL best friend... and single mom Ava who is lusting over the SEAL next door. CRAVING A HERO is a steamy military romance anthology with four happily-ever-afters and all the friends-to-lovers, small town, billionaire, grumpy/sunshine feels... ...along with four heroes who have honor, brains, and eight-packs. Craving: satisfied. MORE, PLEASE Allie: I know exactly what I want. And it has nothing to do with the hot Navy SEAL I picked up in a bar. Really... it doesn't. Since graduating from college, I've been juggling two jobs while fostering abandoned dogs, with my sights set on opening a rescue kennel. I'll do whatever it takes to succeed, even if it means fighting back my cravings for the man who's been fueling my fantasies since I got my first taste of him in a hotel elevator. But when he slips his way back into my life, all I can do is remember that night... ...and ask for more, please. A IS FOR ALPHA Camden: Who put the "O" in Aloha? Yeah, that's me. Camden Sheridan. A guy who will bring you to "O" faster than you can text it. Former Army Ranger with the standard issue 8-pack. And now, a bartender who'll get you safely back to your hotel after too many margaritas… and you won't want me to leave. Believe me, you won't. I live life by my rules in my bachelor pad paradise here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Until a Ranger brother needs me to take care of his little girl while he deploys. A four-year-old cockblock in pigtails. My sex life comes to a screeching halt. Then the babysitter shows up - one who's got a fortress of secrets surrounding her. But I'll break it down and claim her as mine. If this kid will just take a nap. BFF'ED Freya: Mason Adler... Hot. Cocky. Sugar-coated Bad Boy. The type of man who knocks the big "O" clear to the front of the alphabet every time. Wrap up that eight-pack with Navy khakis and top it off with a shiny SEAL Trident, the kind that makes the girls swoon. That's Mason. My best friend. For me, he's off limits. Now that I've finished college, I need to focus on my writing career. And without his help, I don't stand a chance. But I need something from him. Something only he can give me. So I'll pull the blinds. I'll call it "research." And I won't let my heart get involved, especially with him leaving at the end of the week. Leaving me… even though my very soul is still in his grasp. ROMANCING CHRISTMAS Harris: I set the bar pretty low when it comes to the holidays. I have to. As a Navy officer, I spend plenty of them far from anyplace I'd call "home"… sometimes getting shot like I did on my last SEAL mission. So, yeah, I set the bar low enough that I can roll over it. That is, until I meet Ava. She's the type that bakes pecan pie, drinks egg nog, and goes caroling with her neighbors. I bet she even owns a stack of ugly Christmas sweaters. She's also got a son… and roots dug deep into this town that make life with a Navy guy like me impossible. Ava is the last thing I need. Yet she's all I want for Christmas.
He is less than a commoner and should be beneath her notice. Lady Lillian Innesford, oldest daughter of the Williams family, withdrew from society seven years ago. A governess now, she carries a secret that has drained all life from her. Jasper Thomsett, new butler to the Williams family, is the first and only person to realize the nature of Lilly’s troubles. Valor of Love is the second book in the Scandalous Scions, which brings together the members of three great families, to love and play under the gaze of the Victorian era’s moralistic, straight-laced society. Reader Advisory: This story contains frank sex scenes and sexual language. This story is part of the Scandalous Scions series: 0.5 Rose of Ebony 1.0 Soul of Sin 2.0 Valor of Love 3.0 Marriage of Lies 4.0 Mask of Nobility 5.0 Law of Attraction 6.0 Veil of Honor 7.0 Season of Denial 8.0 Rules of Engagement 9.0 Degree of Solitude 10.0 Ashes of Pride 11.0 Risk of Ruin 12.0 Year of Folly 13.0 Queen of Hearts A Sexy Historical Romance ___ Praise for Valor of Love: I have to admit crying like a baby through some passages of the book, they are so well-written that you can feel the character’s emotions. I won't ruin the story but even if you feel historical romances aren't your thing trust me this will change your mind. I'm glad I took the chance and read it. Wow! I was so moved by their story that I cried happy tears!! I'm so totally in love with these characters! The characters stepped out of the books' fictional realm into my life from the very first page and they stayed with me as I had to go about my daily commitments...I know I'll be thinking of them long after the last page has been read. This wonderful, suspenseful and romantic tale will make you believe that anything is possible. The family rallies around and helps put things right for them both. This is a must read if you like historical romance with some wonderful heat!!! At long last, we hear the individual stories behind Lady Lilly and Thompsett, Lord Marblethorpe's butler. Cooper-Posey has dropped little hints that both hid behind a painful and mysterious past, but for her to give the reader BOTH stories in the same book - was just wonderful.

Established in Waco in 1968, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum honors the iconic Texas Rangers, a service which has existed, in one form or another, since 1823. They have become legendary symbols of Texas and the American West. Thirty-one Rangers, with lives spanning more than two centuries, have been enshrined in the Hall of Fame. In The Ranger Ideal Volume 1: Texas Rangers in the Hall of Fame, 1823-1861, Darren L. Ivey presents capsule biographies of the seven inductees who served Texas before the Civil War. He begins with Stephen F. Austin, “the Father of Texas,” who laid the foundations of the Ranger service, and then covers John C. Hays, Ben McCulloch, Samuel H. Walker, William A. A. “Bigfoot” Wallace, John S. Ford, and Lawrence Sul Ross. Using primary records and reliable secondary sources, and rejecting apocryphal tales, The Ranger Ideal presents the true stories of these intrepid men who fought to tame a land with gallantry, grit, and guns. This Volume 1 is the first of a planned three-volume series covering all of the Texas Rangers inducted in the Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco, Texas.
Tanya Huff—acclaimed author of the Blood Series—begins her celebrated Confederation series that will launch readers into a future where Humans are not the most evolved species... Good thing they can take orders. Brought into the multi-species Confederation, Humans earn their place along the Taykan and the Krai by acting as military guardians of the Elder Races, who have risen above societal aggression and violence. When Staff Sergeant Torin Kerr and her platoon are dragged from some well-deserved R&R to play honor guard for a diplomatic mission to the non-Confederation planet of the Silsviss, Torin suspects that something is about to go wrong. You don't make staff sergeant in the CMC without a well-developed sense of paranoia. Justified paranoia when word reaches them that the enemy has been spotted in this sector of space. The diplomatic mission becomes a race to recruit the Silsviss into the Confederation before the enemy returns, claims the reptilian warriors as their own, and turns them loose on the Confederation. One battle-weary platoon has to step up to stop the slaughter.
The Dividing of America is a true story taken from volumes of court transcripts, depositions, news articles, video news presentations, felony booking warrants, and voluminous personal notes that all became public documents with the fraudulent arrest of an Oklahoma contractor and businessman. What began as nothing more than the bidding of a construction project led down a path of corruption, shady lawyers, corrupt public servants, and judges who hide the truth from the juries and hire criminal hitmen as special process servers!
True to My God and Country by Françoise S. Ouzan Pdf
True to My God and Country explores the role of the more than half a million Jewish American men and women who served in the military in the Second World War. Patriotic Americans determined to fight, they served in every branch of the military and every theater of the war. Drawing on letters, diaries, interviews, and memoirs, True to My God and Country offers an intimate account of the soul-searching carried out by young Jewish men and women in uniform. Ouzan highlights, in particular, the selflessness of servicewomen who risked their lives in dangerous assignments. Many GIs encountered antisemitism in the American military even as they fought the evils of Nazi Germany and its allies. True to My God and Country examines how they coped with anti-Jewish hostility and reveals how their interactions with Jewish communities overseas reinforced and bolstered connections to their own American Jewish identities.
The Legal Aid Society’s mission is to advance, defend, and enforce the legal rights of low-income and otherwise vulnerable people in order to secure for them the basic necessities of life. Everyday Justice is an on-the-ground history of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, the story of how national debates about access to justice have impacted the work of its lawyers, and a warning about why the federally imposed limits on that work must be lifted in order to fulfill the pledge of justice for all. Those surviving on low incomes often see the legal system as an oppressive force stacked against them. Everyday Justice is about lawyers trying to make the law work for these people. This book traces the development and evolution of legal aid in Middle Tennessee from the late 1960s to the turn of the millennium, as told by Ashley Wiltshire, who worked for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands in all its incarnations for four decades, beginning a year after its inception. Set in the context of the legal aid movement in the United States—beginning as a part of the social awakening in the post–Civil War era, continuing with volunteer efforts in the first part of the twentieth century, and coming to fruition beginning with the OEO Office of Legal Services grants of the 1960s as part of the War on Poverty—Everyday Justice is a story of Nashville, which levied an extended period of opposition because of prevailing cultural and religious views on race and poverty.
