A Mormon's Unexpected Journey - Volume II by Naylor Carma Pdf

Pastor Chuck Smith (founder of the worldwide Calvary Chapel movement) said the following about this sequel to A Mormon's Unexpected Journey, Vol. 1: "...a must read for any who have wondered what Mormonism is all about." A Mormon's Unexpected Journey, Vol.2 not only exposes the hidden secrets of Mormonism, it is a powerful presentation of the true gospel of grace. Carma's compelling story reveals the difficult struggle of leaving the Mormon religion and confirms the sword that divides the surrendered disciple of Jesus from loved ones. Sealed by Katie Langston Pdf

Katie Langston is an unlikely convert to Christianity. She grew up in a devout, conservative Mormon family in Utah, served a proselytizing mission to Bulgaria when she was 21, married for "time and all eternity" in the Mormon temple when she was 23. From the outside, she had a typical Mormon life. Inside, she was coming apart at the seams. From childhood, she battled "The Questions"—obsessive-compulsive disorder, though she didn't have a diagnosis for it until much later—and lived inside a complex maze of anxiety and fear. This was compounded by Mormonism's emphasis on "worthiness," a designation of acceptability in Mormon practice, that brought her to the edge of despair as a young mother. Then, almost by accident, she had an encounter with the grace of Jesus Christ—and her world changed. In candid but not sensationalized ways, Langston explores little-understood Mormon practices and teachings while grappling with universal human questions such as the nature of faith, the complexity of family, the process of healing, and what it means to truly belong. This book is intended to be a bridge-builder, a way to help non-Mormons understand Mormonism and Mormons orthodox Christianity through the power of personal narrative. Most of all, it is a testimony of Jesus Christ, in the hopes that those who read it—Mormon, Christian, or neither—will catch a glimpse of the spectacular, life-changing grace of God.

Born Again Truths by Kay Wiley Brown Pdf

BORN AGAIN TRUTHS Born into the bondage of the LDS Religion-- Born-again of the Spirit through God's Mercy and Grace "When I studied LDS history and doctrines against the Bible, seeking truth to help my questioning child, I found deceits and occult origins that would lead me out as well. I took my petitions to God, pouring out my heart to Him, and pleading for direction. I could see that I had caused God sorrow. I told Him that I was sorry for following man and promised Him that "from this day forward, it will be me, Jesus Christ, and You, God" (speaking to the Father.) Miraculously, God allowed me to witness my rebirth, as He instantly peeled the bondage I had been under, off of me before my eyes! A grayish matter fell away from me, heavy toward the ground, then dissipated. I heard my lungs fill up with a gasp as God breathed into me. A brightness then immersed me as God filled me with the Holy Spirit. Such joy, peace, and a feeling of freedom I had never known enveloped me! The scenery about me became vivid--the outlines of the mountainous terrain were instantly crisp and clear. I knew that my eyes had been opened; I was forever changed, and there would be no going back. God heard my feeble prayer, has saved me from spiritual blindness, given me new birth, and sealed me His by the Holy Spirit--forever!" -Author Kay is a wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoys family activities, reading, painting, photography, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Religion? of God or Man? by Wayne Talbot Pdf

Is there evidence for the existence of God, defined as the transcendent entity responsible for all material existence? The author believes that there is, albeit such evidence is not necessarily proof for everyone. In this two-part study, Wayne Talbot firstly presents the evidence that has convinced him that God is the most plausible explanation. With a limited but sufficient understanding of the nature of existence, in terms of energy, matter, space, and time, he demonstrates his primary axiom: that nothing can explain itself. The natural corollary of this is that scientists will never be able to explain the origins of material existence by examining the material itself. An explanation of origins must always lie outside the entity being examined. This is why scientists cannot explain the origin of the proposed singularity and why some scientists seek an alternative to the Big Bang model of our universe, even resorting to logical absurdities such as the universe creating itself out of nothing while in the presence of something. With the reality of God being his presupposition for what follows, the author examines the case for monotheistic religions versus polytheistic, concluding that the latter are antithetical to a God who is one. Left with a choice between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, he concludes that if God has communicated his guidance for living to any, it is most likely Judaism as recorded in the Hebrew scriptures. The question becomes, Which parts of those scriptures were intended for the children of Israel alone, and which were for all people for all time? Researching ever deeper, he reveals what he has come to believe about how God wants us to relate to him and the specific guidance that should be reworded for contemporary times. The spirit of Torah is so much more than the mere words.
