Lutishia Lovely: All Up In My Business Bundle with A Preacher's Passion & Reverend Feelgood by Lutishia Lovely Pdf

Lutishia Lovely: All Up In My Business Bundle with A Preacher's Passion & Reverend Feelgood All Up In My Business Lutishia Lovely serves up a sizzling behind-the-scenes tale of rivalry and scandal in a family's booming soul food dynasty. . . With brothers Malcolm and Toussaint Livingston at the helm, business at Taste of Soul is thriving and the family seems to have it all. But jealousy and competition threaten to tarnish their picture-perfect image. Toussaint is a risk-taker, determined to expand the restaurant chain at a record pace, but levelheaded Malcolm insists on challenging Toussaint's goals. And at home, there's more heating up than grits and collard greens. Malcolm is growing weary of his marriage and his ever-expanding brood of children. His brother's Casanova lifestyle looks more and more appealing. But Toussaint's playboy days aren't as carefree as Malcolm thinks. Toussaint's met his match in interior designer Alexis St. Clair, a woman who refuses to become just another dish on this player's mating menu. But if Toussaint has his way, the happenings in both the boardroom and the bedroom are all about to change. . . A Preacher's Passion Lutishia Lovely is back with another smoldering journey into the scandalous and occasionally sanctified lives of people who go to church but aren't always 100% Christian. . . Passion Perkins is hot to trot. After being celibate for five long years, she's ready, willing, and able to end her drought. But she's also determined to hold out for Mr. Right. . .a man her friends say doesn't exist--until Lavon Chapman walks into her life: a powerful and handsome man who has come to the community to film an inspirational DVD about Passion's minister, Doctor Stanley Lee, and his fiery wife, Carla Lee. But Lavon is only in town for eight weeks. . . Passion is now on a mission to make Lavon her husband and to end her celibacy. . .and not necessarily in that order. But she's not the only one. It seems Doctor Lee, though a master in the pulpit is a dud between the sheets, so Carla Lee has Lavon in her sights--and is determined to end up on top. Before long, other members of the church community are entangled in scandals of their own, and while some are getting busy in service to the Lord, others are just simply getting busy. . . Reverend Feelgood In Lutishia Lovely's wickedly sexy new novel, an energetic young pastor works overtime to keep the ladies in his congregation deliciously satisfied. . . Nathaniel "Nate" Thicke is a preaching prodigy. At only twenty-eight years old, he's the senior pastor of The Gospel Truth Church. In addition to carrying on the preaching tradition begun by his great-grandfather, Nate is also just plain carrying on, wherever the spirit--and the flesh--lead him. And when it leads him to three women from the same family, bickering and backstabbing follow. . . Content with having his pick of the flock, Nate is surprised to discover he's fallen head-over-heels in love, and decides to become a one-woman man. But the other ladies aren't about to give him up so easily. They're prepared to do whatever it takes to get their man back--even if it means adding a few more shocking sins to their list. . .

Passion in the Pulpit by Jerry Vines,Adam B. Dooley Pdf

Biblical exegesis doesn’t stop with the words alone. Faithful preachers exegete the emotion of the text as well. It’s easy to let our own personalities dictate the emotional dimension of our sermons, but the best preachers mirror the Bible’s emotive intent in their sermons. In Passion in the Pulpit, Jerry Vines and Adam Dooley will teach you how to exegete not just the verbal content of Scripture, but its emotional appeal as well. They show you the role the Bible’s emotional intent should play in each stage of sermon prep, and: Offer exegetical steps to discern the biblical pathos Teach you how to avoid manipulation while making your sermons emotional Help you determine the appropriate limitations of emotional appeal Give you verbal, vocal, and visual techniques to help convey the biblical emotional intent in your sermons When we elevate the Bible’s emotional intent above our own, we preach truth rather than personality.

Faithful Preaching by Tony Merida Pdf

What is a preacher? What is preaching? Pastor Tony Merida asks these foundational questions to arrive at this overview of his widely anticipated book, Faithful Preaching: “Faithful preaching is the responsible, passionate, and authentic declaration of the Christ-exalting Scriptures, by the power of the Spirit, for the glory of the Triune God. Expository preaching is the best approach for accurately explaining and applying God’s Word, and for maintaining a God-centered focus in preaching. It also offers wonderful spiritual benefits to both the preacher and congregation. To be faithful expositors today, we must avoid the common problems associated with expository preaching such as boredom, irrelevancy, and Christless messages. Faithful preachers will usher the people through the text passionately and authentically, pointing them to Christ.”

Preaching Jeremiah by Walter Brueggemann Pdf

Preeminent biblical scholar and preacher Walter Brueggemann says the book of Jeremiah is not a sermon, but it does sound the cadences of the tradition of Deuteronomy that serve as sermons--that is, as expositions based on remembered and treasured tradition. In this volume, Brueggemann conducts an experiment in homiletics. He wants us to wrestle with the question, What if we allow the canonical shape of the book of Jeremiah to instruct us concerning the shape and trajectory of the sermon? More specifically, he wonders: What if the book of Jeremiah is treated as a long sermonic reflection about the traumatic events that led to exile and displacement for the people of Judah? Why did it happen? Is God faithful? Does God punish? Is there any future? This theme and these questions can also be related to the crucifixion of Jesus and the displacement experienced by his followers. Brueggemann extends his wonderment further to the displacement experienced in modern American culture, as events jolt our notions of exceptionalism and chosenness. All of those same propensities were at work in ancient Israel in the wake of the displacement of Jerusalem, a wake given voice in the book of Jeremiah. Brueggemann analyzes the various parts of the sermon through the organization of the book of Jeremiah, looking at Introduction, Body, and Conclusion, comparing them to Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday. The task of the preacher mirrors the task of the prophet who seeks to pluck and tear down, as well as to plant and to build. The preacher cannot, as he says, participate in a cover-up. The preaching task requires honesty about what God requires and a clear proclamation of what God has done and will yet do.

The Passionate Preaching of Martyn Lloyd-Jones by Steven J Lawson Pdf

England in the twentieth century was in the grips of theological liberalism. It was thought that no modern person could accept the supernatural claims of the Bible. Preaching was filled with sentimental platitudes and empty moralizing. Into this dark atmosphere stepped the man known as "the Doctor." D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones was a physician by training, and he embarked on a promising career in medicine. But after his conversion, Lloyd-Jones experienced an irresistible call to preach. In answering this call, he engaged in a ministry that would exert profound influence on both sides of the Atlantic. From his pulpit at Westminster Chapel in London, he set a new standard for faithfully and fully proclaiming the Word of God while combating the influence of theological liberalism in his day. In The Passionate Preaching of Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Dr. Steven Lawson tells the story of the man who, more than nearly anyone else, is responsible for the resurgence of expository preaching in England and America. This book is part of the Long Line of Godly Men Profile series, edited by Dr. Steven Lawson.

Sanctification by John MacArthur Pdf

Among all the things that a pastor will do on any given day, he must not lose sight of his one ultimate goal: the sanctification of God’s people. This is the heart of God’s purpose for Christians. John MacArthur calls pastors to remember what all the countless hours preparing sermons, visiting hospitals, counseling, conducting weddings, and more are all about, even when the finish line seems so far in the distance that they’re tempted to give up. He encourages pastors with the power God gives them to place the sanctification of God’s people at the center of their ministry.
