Mr. Darcy the Rake by Valerie Lennox Pdf

A very different Darcy… Fitz Darcy is a second son, and his elder brother has inherited Pemberley and all the responsibilities that entails. So, Fitz has turned elsewhere to support himself financially. He owns an infamous gambling hell in London, partnering with his best friend George Wickham. He’s also infamous for other reasons, namely that is he widely considered the worst rake in all of England. Fitz has rules, though. Widows and other men’s wives are all fair game, but he doesn’t debauch innocent virgins. But then, at a trip to his aunt Lady Catherine’s country house, he first sets eyes on Miss Elizabeth Bennet, whose sharp tongue so readily handles his harridan of an aunt he can’t help but be intrigued by her. No, not intrigued, obsessed. Scruples be damned, he has to have her. He’ll stop at nothing to make it happen. The longer he pursues her, the more he begins to change in ways he can’t quite understand. What is it about this Bennet girl, and can his desire for her reform this wretched rake? Oh, this is not even remotely clean, dear reader. Also, quite obviously, both Darcy and Wickham are wildly out of character. I hope you enjoy this trip into an alternate imagining of the characters and situations we all know and love.

Open Your Eyes by Jann Rowland Pdf

When Elizabeth Bennet meets with Mr. Wickham in Meryton, he informs her of his past dealings with Mr. Darcy. During the course of this conversation, Elizabeth realizes that Mr. Wickham is perhaps not all he seems to be and that there may be more to the man than amiable manners and a handsome countenance. Though she decides she does not want to be involved with either of the men, she finds that it is not easy to extricate herself from the situation. One of the men turns out to be strangely compelling, and the other is intent upon inducing her to acknowledge that his version of events is correct. The further she is drawn into their intrigues, the more Elizabeth realizes that she may have misjudged the situation . . . and that her powers of observation might not be completely faultless in all cases. This tale of love and courtship tells the story of what might have happened had Elizabeth only opened her eyes and used some of her vaunted ability to sketch characters shortly after the beginning of her acquaintance with Mr. Wickham and Mr. Darcy.

Mr. Darcy's Decision by Juliette Shapiro Pdf

Marriage isn’t the end of the story, it’s only the beginning—in this delightful and suspenseful follow-up to Jane Austen’s classic Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen captured hearts with the passion-filled romance of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Now, Mr. Darcy’s Decision finds the couple in their tumultuous first year of married life at Pemberley, entrenched in the frivolous social pressures of their prying friends and family. While the sharp-tongued duo of Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Caroline Bingley criticizes Elizabeth, the new Mrs. Darcy has a happier matter on her mind—the fact that she is carrying the next Darcy heir. But when the sudden and unexpected return of Elizabeth’s sister Lydia brings alarming reports of seduction and blackmail that threaten the newlyweds’ future, Mr. Darcy is forced to make the most difficult decision of his lifetime . . . Written in a style that stays true to the Austen’s sardonic wit, Mr. Darcy’s Decision paints a vivid portrait of Regency society—full of romance, tragedy, humor, and intrigue.
