Yoga-Ayurveda Miracle by M. K. Agarwal,A. K. Sharma Pdf

The origin of world medicine can be traced to the Sindhu (Indus) and Sarasvati river valley civilization as of 8000 BC, or earlier, where Yoga-Ayurveda concepts, based on the Samkhya philosophy in the Vedas, assured complete mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing for reunion of the microcosm (man) with the macrocosm (God). Ayurveda surgeons were performing rhinoplasty, plastic surgery, caesarian delivery, cataract removal, catheterization, and the like, some of which cannot be improved upon even today, thousands of years before the Europeans in the 18th century CE. Ayurveda system of humors was later on adapted blindly for holistic care by the Greeks, Egyptians, Arabs, Chinese and others, although they could not understand the accompanying discipline of Yoga for which their culture had no theoretical basis. The unparalleled excellence of the Vedic-Aryan tradition formed the mother of all medicine and the backbone of all learning until the 17th century CE in Europe. The medical tradition assigned to the Hippocrates in Greece was an idea invented primarily by the British to assert white racial superiority although medicine in Greece was a handmaiden of philosophers whose medical theories were absurd indeed. Roman medicine was derived from Greek and Egyptian immigrants who had assimilated Ayurveda through trade and commerce as their surviving literature does not explain it. Similarly, the Abrahamic religions had nothing but the Pentateuch which is just Jewish history and which was to stifle all inquiry while the supreme will of God assured perpetual superstition, magic, misery, ignorance, poverty, hunger, and disease due to past sin. Muslim invaders were an illiterate lot from Arabia so their religious fanaticism, based on Koran, was to kill, mutilate, enslave, and castrate some 60-80 million Vedic-Hindus whose culture was now passed off as Arabic by false translations, distortions, omissions, and the like. Indeed, the vast theoretical treatises in Sanskrit in all aspects of human endeavor are to be found in no other peoples or culture. Europeans not only exterminated peoples and cultures around the globe, they freely copied from the traditions of the enslaved peoples, while false translations were planted to further ridicule the colored subjects and to embellish their own depraved patrimony. The fight to claim Vedic ancestry remains the best proof yet of its unsurpassed ideation. Although European imperialism has exercised an absolute monopoly on words like progress and civilization, and calls itself the society of tomorrow, it is in fact a society of yesterday as it adopts practices that it had previously rejected due its own vanity. Today, the Ayurveda tradition forms the underlying principle of the New Age Therapies and remains unsurpassed in its scientific inquiry, majestic resplendence, universal tolerance, and eternal timelessness.

The Path of Practice by Bri Maya Tiwari Pdf

"We are wellness. We are consciousness. That is our natural state. Disease is an imposter." As one of the world's only female experts on the ancient Indian tradition of Ayurvedic medicine, renowned teacher Bri. Maya Tiwari has devoted her heart and soul to sharing the philosophy and methods that saved her from terminal cancer and redirected her life. Now, in The Path of Practice, she offers a short course in healing and living and reveals how she has gone back to the sources of Ayurvedic wisdom to reclaim time-honored, natural, and spiritual techniques for contemporary life. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer at twenty-three, Bri. Maya was given two months to live. Her doctors' advice: die painlessly with heavy dosages of morphine. Instead, in the middle of winter, she left her career as a popular fashion designer in New York City and began several months of intensive meditation and holistic nutrition alone in a remote Vermont cabin. By Spring, her health and vitality had been restored. Inspired by dramatic visions and dreams of her family and ancestors, Bri. Maya became a student of one of India's few living masters of the traditional Vedas. Today, healthy in body and spirit, she devotes herself to teaching the wisdom practices of the Vedas to help others heal emotional and spiritual discomfort, dis-ease, and physical illness. In The Path of Practice, Bri. Maya's gentle, compassionate voice instructs you in living life consciously in the present moment, so that you can recover your natural rhythms and align yourself and your inner cycles with the universe. With particular emphasis on using the primordial feminine healing power of shakti--which everyone possesses--Bri. Maya leads you through the daily practice, or sadhana, of a three-part wellness program that includes nutrition and cooking with whole foods, breath work and meditation, and chanting with healing sounds. Encouraged by the inspirational stories of Bri. Maya's life and those of others who have made these simple but powerful practices an integral part of their lives, you will learn how to take charge of your own health. Through Bri. Maya's unique philosophy and practice of "cosmic memory," you will discover your personal, body wisdom and intuition, your singular mission in the world, and your connection to the divine within you and around you. Filled with illuminating insights, easy-to-follow recipes, and meditations and exercises that can be adapted to different lifestyles and traditions, The Path of Practice is one of the only holistic programs designed for women by a woman. Imbued with the spiritual strength and centeredness of its remarkable author, here is a practical and profound book you will turn to time and time again for instruction, wisdom, and peace of mind.

Patanjali and Ayurvedic Yoga by Vinod Verma Pdf

Patanjali Yoga Sutras or Aphorisms written about 2600 years ago, condense the yogic tradition that existed in India 3600 years before that time. This period was also the golden period of Ayurveda. Both these disciplines are concerned primarily with the well being of the body, though their aims are different. The aim of yoga is to achieve eternity by getting over the bondage with the body and being one with the Universal Soul or Purusha. One needs a strong and healthy body to rise over the physicality. Ayurveda is the Science of health and healing from ancient India and is primarily concerned with the optimum quality of life, longevity and freedom from ailments. The author has shown in her previous books how Charaka has emphasized the values of yoga for maintaining good health. Charaka has stressed the importance of sattva (inner peace and stillness) to balance rajas (activity) and tamas (inertia) for maintaining health and equilibrium. Present book integrates the disciplines of yoga and Ayurveda and demonstrates that both have the same fundamental principles of Samkhya school of thought. Dr. Verma has compared the concept of body in both these disciplines and given special programmes to integrate this timeless wisdom in everyday life of modern people. The book is extremely valuable for understanding both the classical yoga as well as essence of Ayurveda. It is a precious guide to manage stress, enhance concentration and memory, as well as body's energy. This book is equally important for scholars who are interested in the concept of body and human creative dimension. This is the third edition of the book.
