Bending the Binary by Deborah Lipp Pdf

A Groundbreaking New Perspective on Polarity Magic Break polarity free from outmoded ideas of gender and heteronormativity while still celebrating its energy. This pioneering book explores polarity from many angles, examining its evolution throughout history, why it's important in the occult, and how it relates to identity and sexual orientation. Deborah Lipp shows you what it means to both include polarity magic and be inclusive. Bending the Binary adds depth and nuance to polar concepts in magic, such as day and night, male and female, self and other. Deborah offers a third perspective on these opposites, inviting you to explore the space between them through rituals, journal prompts, and detailed research. She also teaches how to incorporate binary-bending practices into your personal magical system. This book encourages everyone to expand their perceptions and strengthen their magic.

Principles of Aeroelasticity by Raymond L. Bisplinghoff,Holt Ashley Pdf

Principle of Aeroelasticity constitutes an attempt to bring order to a group of problems which have coalesced into a distinct and mature subdivision of flight-vehicle engineering. The authors have formulated a unifying philosophy of the field based on the equations of forced motion of the elastic flight vehicle. A distinction is made between static and dynamic phenomena, and beyond this the primary classification is by the number of independent space variables required to define the physical system. Following an introductory chapter on the field of aeroelasticity and its literature, the book continues in two major parts. Chapters 2 through 5 give general methods of constructing static and dynamic equations and deal specifically with the laws of mechanics for heated elastic solids, forms of aerodynamic operators, and structural operators. Chapters 6 through 10 survey the state of aeroelastic theory. The chapters proceed from simplified cases which have only a small, finite number of degrees of freedom, to one-dimensional systems (line structures), and finally to two-dimensional systems (plate- and shell-like structures). Chapter 9 combines some of the previous results by treating the unrestrained elastic vehicle in flight. All these chapters assume linear systems with properties independent of time, but Chapter 10 takes up the subject of systems which must be represented by nonlinear equations or by equations with time-varying coefficients.

Introduction to Aircraft Aeroelasticity and Loads by Jan R. Wright Pdf

Introduction to Aircraft Aeroelasticity and Loads, Second Edition is an updated new edition offering comprehensive coverage of the main principles of aircraft aeroelasticity and loads. For ease of reference, the book is divided into three parts and begins by reviewing the underlying disciplines of vibrations, aerodynamics, loads and control, and then goes on to describe simplified models to illustrate aeroelastic behaviour and aircraft response and loads for the flexible aircraft before introducing some more advanced methodologies. Finally, it explains how industrial certification requirements for aeroelasticity and loads may be met and relates these to the earlier theoretical approaches used. Key features of this new edition include: Uses a unified simple aeroelastic model throughout the book Major revisions to chapters on aeroelasticity Updates and reorganisation of chapters involving Finite Elements Some reorganisation of loads material Updates on certification requirements Accompanied by a website containing a solutions manual, and MATLAB® and SIMULINK® programs that relate to the models used Introduction to Aircraft Aeroelasticity and Loads, Second Edition is a must-have reference for researchers and practitioners working in the aeroelasticity and loads fields, and is also an excellent textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students in aerospace engineering.

X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy of Semiconductors by Claudia S. Schnohr,Mark C. Ridgway Pdf

X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) is a powerful technique with which to probe the properties of matter, equally applicable to the solid, liquid and gas phases. Semiconductors are arguably our most technologically-relevant group of materials given they form the basis of the electronic and photonic devices that now so widely permeate almost every aspect of our society. The most effective utilisation of these materials today and tomorrow necessitates a detailed knowledge of their structural and vibrational properties. Through a series of comprehensive reviews, this book demonstrates the versatility of XAS for semiconductor materials analysis and presents important research activities in this ever growing field. A short introduction of the technique, aimed primarily at XAS newcomers, is followed by twenty independent chapters dedicated to distinct groups of materials. Topics span dopants in crystalline semiconductors and disorder in amorphous semiconductors to alloys and nanometric material as well as in-situ measurements of the effects of temperature and pressure. Summarizing research in their respective fields, the authors highlight important experimental findings and demonstrate the capabilities and applications of the XAS technique. This book provides a comprehensive review and valuable reference guide for both XAS newcomers and experts involved in semiconductor materials research.

Statistical Thermodynamics of Semiconductor Alloys by Vyacheslav A Elyukhin Pdf

Statistical Thermodynamics of Semiconductor Alloys is the consideration of thermodynamic properties and characteristics of crystalline semiconductor alloys by the methods of statistical thermodynamics. The topics presented in this book make it possible to solve such problems as calculation of a miscibility gap, a spinodal decomposition range, a short-range order, deformations of crystal structure, and description of the order-disorder transitions. Semiconductor alloys, including doped elemental semiconductors are the basic materials of solid-state electronics. Their structural stability and other characteristics are key to determining the reliability and lifetime of devices, making the investigation of stability conditions an important part of semiconductor physics, materials science, and engineering. This book is a guide to predicting and studying the thermodynamic properties and characteristics of the basic materials of solid-state electronics. Includes a complete and detailed consideration of the cluster variation method (CVM) Provides descriptions of spinodal decomposition ranges of crystalline alloys Presents a representation of thermodynamics characteristics and properties as a miscibility gap by using the different approximations of CVM Covers a unique, detailed consideration of the valence force field model with the complete collection of formulas
