THIS BOOK CONTAINS THE RESULTS OF TWO INDEPENDENT ARCHAEOLOGICAL STUDIES CONDUCTED IN THE HEART OF GLASTONBURY TOWN CENTRE AT 11 HIGH STREET, NOW THE FOOTPRINT OF THE BUSY DOUBLE AWARD-WINNING GAUNTLET SHOPPING THOROUGHFARE. The studies were commissioned by the Developer and Landlord/owner Doug Hill between 2005-2007. They were request ed as a pre-condition for planning by Somerset CountyCouncil as it was considered imperative to document the history of the site, the development of which offered a unique opportunity prior to the commencement of the building works. This is a Grade 2 listed building positioned in the centre of a conservation area in the heart of Glastonbury (adjacent to the Tri - bunal, a Grade 1 Listed building) and as such is considered to be of great importance. The land at 11 High Street was stripped, mapped and the artefacts logged. The broad spectrum of finds were subsequently donated to the Somerset Museum, Taunton. The Bones Below by Sierra DeMulder Pdf

A clear voice of her generation, Sierra DeMulder’s writing offers a gritty, sincere perspective on the subtle joys and modern pains of living. Her debut collection The Bones Below delicately carries the reader to a place of brutal, beautiful honesty. DeMulder’s personal revelations complete a touching portrait of the young artist and her fearless exploration of the human experience, bare in its rawest and most tender forms. DeMulder possesses the most important quality a young writer can have, a unique voice. That voice exploded onto the national poetry scene. Sierra uses subtlety and tension the way photographers use angle. She will eat your heart out with a spoon. -Karen Finneyfrock, “Ceremony for the Choking Ghost" DeMulder is intensely personal. - Huffington Post violently passionate and sweet, deftly moving between the two modes. - The Lamron, New Journal of SUNY Geneseo

The Stars Beneath Our Feet by David Barclay Moore Pdf

"The right story at the right time. . . . It’s not just a narrative; it’s an experience. It’s the novel we’ve been waiting for." —The New York Times A boy tries to steer a safe path through the projects in Harlem in the wake of his brother’s death in this outstanding debut novel that celebrates community and creativity. ** WINNER OF THE CORETTA SCOTT KING–JOHN STEPTOE AWARD FOR NEW TALENT! ** MICHAEL B. JORDAN TO DIRECT MOVIE ADAPTATION! SIX STARRED REVIEWS! It’s Christmas Eve in Harlem, but twelve-year-old Lolly Rachpaul and his mom aren’t celebrating. They’re still reeling from his older brother’s death in a gang-related shooting just a few months earlier. Then Lolly’s mother’s girlfriend brings him a gift that will change everything: two enormous bags filled with Legos. Lolly’s always loved Legos, and he prides himself on following the kit instructions exactly. Now, faced with a pile of building blocks and no instructions, Lolly must find his own way forward. His path isn’t clear—and the pressure to join a “crew,” as his brother did, is always there. When Lolly and his friend are beaten up and robbed, joining a crew almost seems like the safe choice. But building a fantastical Lego city at the community center provides Lolly with an escape—and an unexpected bridge back to the world. David Barclay Moore paints a powerful portrait of a boy teetering on the edge—of adolescence, of grief, of violence—and shows how Lolly’s inventive spirit helps him build a life with firm foundations and open doors. Aliens are on earth, buried in the southwest of England for many hundreds of years, waiting for mankind to reach a sufficiently advanced level of technology; then when conditions suit, they will emerge. In 1991, two girls, Harriet and Emily, on a school trip to the cathedral discover the activity of the aliens. However, they are warned of the dangers by the ghost of the first bishop. The girls, using the Internet, uncover several accounts in the cathedral archives, where bones have come alive. Matters become serious when several aliens take over a policeman and army major sent to control the situation. Excavations take place as the aliens search for the craft in which they arrived to enable them to conquer the whole planet. Together with information from the diary of an eighteenth-century milliner, Mrs. Pendlebury, the two girls direct humanity’s fight back.

Journey to the Center of the Earth, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Round the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne Pdf

Jules Verne’s most beloved novels are gathered here in one hardcover volume: three thrilling tales of fabulous journeys under, through, and around the earth. Verne was one of the great pioneers of science fiction. Born in France in 1828, he wrote brilliantly about space, air, and underwater travel long before airplanes and space ships had been invented, and he is still one of the most widely read internationally of all science-fiction writers. But beyond charting new territory for adventurous fiction, his creations have entered our culture and taken on the magnitude and vitality of myth. It is hard to imagine anyone who has not heard of Captain Nemo and his giant submarine exploring the ruins of Atlantis in Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Phileas Fogg’s frantic race around the world by every means of transportation in Round the World in Eighty Days, and the harrowing descent through a volcanic crater to underground caverns where prehistoric creatures roam in Journey to the Center of the Earth. These stories have seized the imaginations of readers for generations and are as vivid and exciting now as when their author first imagined traveling beyond the bounds of the possible. The Light-years Beneath My Feet by Alan Dean Foster Pdf

“Foster is in top form here, entertainingly mixing politics, comedy, and intriguing alien anthropology.”—Booklist Abducted by aliens to be sold as pets in a more civilized part of the galaxy, earthlings Marcus Walker and a scruffy dog named George (speech-enhanced to increase his market value) have managed to escape their captors. Walker loves being humankind’s first galactic traveler—until he remembers he hasn’t a clue where home is or how to get there. So the erstwhile commodities broker becomes a chef, whipping up delicacies for demanding alien palates. Of course he never imagined that the way back to Chicago would involve swapping his easy-living adopted planet for an all-out, age-old war many parsecs away. But hey, it’s all for a good cause, he has George and their two fellow escapees for company, and what else is there to do, besides avoid nasty aliens? Plenty, as it turns out. “An enjoyable read . . . Foster’s writing is smooth and his characters engaging.”—SFReader “Sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, and always entertaining.”—Library Journal

How to Stay Out of the City Beneath Your Feet by Richard W. Menear Pdf

"This is one book you CAN judge by its cover!" Dan Lyons President, World Business Capital Corp. Richland, WA How important are language and words, right and wrong believing, thinking and speaking? What is life all about and where is it heading? Is death the end with one destiny? Is there a real Satan, and is Hell a real place or an overused metaphor? Do angels really exist? Are we really created in the image of God and if so, what does that mean? Where is the mind? As important as these questions are, it seems that most people have forgotten to ask them. Who bewitched them? Are there in fact ultimate answers to the ultimate questions? In this book, Author Richard W. Menear, Ph.D. addresses these topics and many others.  Humanity's distance from God and closeness to the enemy.  Religion, ethics and standards being reduced to a trash pile.  Sin. Man's view vs. God's view.  Specific moral issues like abortion, homosexuality, infidelity.  The resurrection of the body.  What Hell is really like! Explained in depth, Dr. Menear explores the plight of fallen mankind and unmasks the enemy's deceptions designed to destroy, and to replace scriptural truth. All these mysteries have been revealed to the world through God's Son, and are examined here. This book will take you on your solo journey that includes the most important aspects of life from the beginning to end just like God said it would be! Richard W. Menear holds a Th.B., Th.M. from Full Gospel Bible Institute, and a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling from International Bible College and Seminary, three - year certificate from Rhema Bible Training Center. Dr. Menear is a Vietnam era veteran with the U.S.A.F, and lives with his wife in Branson West, Missouri.
