Chromatography and Its Applications by Sasikumar Dhanarasu Pdf

Chromatography is a powerful separation tool that is used in all branches of science, and is often the only means of separating components from complex mixtures. The Russian botanist Mikhail Tswett coined the term chromatography in 1906. The first analytical use of chromatography was described by James and Martin in 1952, for the use of gas chromatography for the analysis of fatty acid mixtures. A wide range of chromatographic procedures makes use of differences in size, binding affinities, charge, and other properties. Many types of chromatography have been developed. These include Column chromatography, High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Gas chromatography, Size exclusion chromatography, Ion exchange chromatography etc. In this book contains more details about the applications of chromatography by various research findings. Each and every topics of this book have included lists of references at the end to provide students and researchers with starting points for independent chromatography explorations. I welcome comments, criticisms, and suggestions from students, faculty and researchers.

Modern Advances in Chromatography by Ruth Freitag Pdf

Chromatography is the separation method for biological molecules from the analytical to the preparative scale. Few of the recent advances in life science, whether in "proteomics" or in the industrial production of recombinant therapeutics, would have been possible without the help of chromatographic separations. Concomitantly, chromatography nowadays stands for much more than a batch column packed with porous particles. In this book eminent experts from academia and industry introduce the reader to some of the recent new developments in this exciting area. Ranging from evolving nanoanalytical techniques to advances in the material sciences and artificial antibodies and finally continuous large scale separations of the most fragile biologicals, this book should provide interesting reading material for students and practitioners from various fields.

Chromatographic Methods by R. Stock,C. B. F. Rice Pdf

Classification of chromatographic methods Chromatography is the name given to a particular family of separation techniques of great effectiveness. The original method was described in 1903 by Tswett, who used it for the separation of coloured substances, and the name chromatog raphy stems from this. However, the limitation to coloured compounds never really obtained, and most chromatographic separations are nowadays performed on mixtures of colourless substances, including gases. Like fractional distillation, chromatography relies on the relative movement of two phases, but in chromatography one is fixed and is known as the stationary phase; the other is known as the mobile phase. Chromatographic methods may be classified first according to the nature of the mobile phase and, second, according to the nature of the stationary phase. The mobile phase may be a liquid or a gas, and the stationary phase may be a solid or a liquid. There are thus four main sub-divisions of the chromatographic process, as set out in Table 1.1. The system is called adsorption chromatography if the stationary phase is a solid, and partition chromatography if it is a liquid.

Chromatography by Elsa Lundanes,Léon Reubsaet,Tyge Greibrokk Pdf

Finally a book on chromatography which is easy to grasp for undergraduates and technicians; covers the area in sufficient depth while still being concise. The book includes all recent technology advances and has core textbook features further improving the learning experience. This book is the perfect introduction into a methodology which is the underlying principle of the vast majority of separation methods worldwide. Everyone working in a lab environment must be familiar with the basis of these technologies and Tyge Greibrokk, Elsa Lundanes and Leon Reubsaet succeed in delivering a text which is easy to read for undergraduates and laboratory technicians, and covers the area in sufficient depth while still being concise. The book includes all recent technology advances and has core textbook features further improving the learning experience. Importantly, the text does not only cover all major modern chromatography technology (thin layer, gas, high pressure liquid, and supercritical fluid chromatography) but also related methods, in particular electrophoretic technologies.

Open Tubular Columns in Gas Chromatography by Leslie S. Ettre Pdf

For my past sins, Leslie Ettre has given me the privilege of writing a few words to preface his excellent little book. It gives me great pleasure to do so, because of the many years of fruitful collabo ration we have had at Perkin-Elmer, because it is refreshing to see a treatise in gas chromatography in which the theoretical treatment has been bared to its essentials, without a mushrooming of formulae which, by means of an ever increasing number of parameters, account for more and more, and explain less and less, and because the author has recognized that the gas chromatographic column is a nearly passive element in its own right which deserves to have a treatise written nearly exclusively about it, just as electrical circuit theory can be discussed without elaborate references to vacuum tubes and meters. I wish this conscientiously written volume the success it deserves. M. J. E. GOLAY VII Preface Gas chromatography is a separation technique used primarily in analytical chemistry. Therefore, it is evident that special emphasis should be placed on that particular part of the apparatus in which the separation takes place. This part is the column, the heart of the gas chromatograph. The goal of researchers in the field of gas chromatography has been-from the beginning-to understand the separation process so that they might design columns with the best possible performance. Such investigation led M. J. E.

Handbook of Chromatography by Hamir S. Rathore Pdf

Handbook of Chromatography provides a detailed description of significant aspects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The sources, occurrence, nomenclature, and carcinogenicity of PAHs are covered, and a comprehensive record of data of sample preparation, detection, separation, determination, and characterization of PAHs by liquid chromatography is presented. The book also summarizes extraction and enrichment procedures (e.g., Soxhlet extraction, ultrasonic extraction, liquid-liquid partitioning); presents data from paper chromatography, thin-layer chromatography, high-performance thin-layer chromatography, and electrophoresis of PAHs; and discusses the methodology and applications of extrography in analyzing complex aromatic materials. Handbook of Chromatography also provides a PAHs book directory and a list of suppliers of PAHs and HPLC columns. The volume will be an essential reference for analytical chemists, environmental toxicologists, organic chemists, biomedical specialists, and biotechnicians.
