Cocos Island Treasure by Virginia Williams,Patrick John Rose Pdf

Where did those rasty, barbaric theft-driven pirates bury their treasures in the 17th and 18th Centuries? Perhaps just a little south of the main South Sea shipping lane in a secluded harbor where a short paddle through shark-infested waters to the steamy, fetid jungle island could yield fresh water, food, and gold! Turn-of-the-20th Century fortune hunters from the schooner, Bessie, hunt where only ghosts inhabit--or are they all merely apparitions? Captain Dan was ready to retire until he gained access to a secret cipher--one that he felt sure was authentic enough to reap him millions and willing to risk one more salty adventure to seek the insanely rich treasures of Cocos Island.

This book examines the evidence for the widespread idea that 'the Treasure of Lima' was buried on Cocos Island in the Pacific Ocean in 1820, and remains there to this day. The legend inspired some 500 expeditions to the Island between 1850 and 1978, when digging for buried treasure became illegal.

The Treasure of Cocos Island by James Otis Pdf

Excerpt from The Treasure of Cocos Island: A Story of the Indian Ocean Horsburgh the Borneo Coral Islands, a group in the Indian Ocean, about six hundred miles south of the coast of Sumatra, in 12° 5' S. Lat. And 90° 55' E. Long., well known as having furnished Mr. Darwin with the typical example of an atoll or lagoon island. There are altogether twenty-three small islands, nine and a half miles being the greatest width of the whole atoll. The lagoon is very shallow, and the passages between many of the islands of such trifling depth that it is possible to 'walk at low tide with some slight wading all the way from Direction Isl and to West Island.' An opening on the northern side of the reef permits the entrance of vessels into the northern part of the lagoon, which forms a good harbor known as Port Refuge, or Port Albion. The climate is temperate and extremely healthy. Terrific storms sometimes break over the islands, and it has been more than once visited by earth quakes. The Treasures of Cocos Island by Falcon Marine,Mike Riley Pdf

I categorically state in front of witnesses that I have never been ashore on Cocos Island and that this work is a work of fiction. In other words, I ain't telling! Did you ever want to dig up a billionaire fortune in treasure? They do exist. I know. One of those treasures is the subject of this book. A book full of adventure, sex, shark attacks, revenge, and all sorts of nefarious characters. And a few genuine heroes. This is a great read. More than that, a book that might well change the direction of your life. Are you happy the way things are going now? OK, don't read this book. If you are thinking about a change; read this book first. Really! Cocos stands alone even though my book the Good, the Bad and the Pirate introduces many of the characters and some of the plot. Be warned, Pirate contains very adult only scenes. Not for those under mature adulthood. Actually, Cocos is also only for adults if only for a few very explicit sex scenes. Don't let that put you off. It is a book that you will never forget!

Not illustrated. 1902 edition. Excerpt: ... CHAPTER IX. FREEDOM. As may be imagined, Winn was keenly on the alert for such conversation as might give him a clew to what had been done, and how the news of his escape was received. In the effort to ascertain this fact he was more successful than he had dared to hope, thanks to Joe, who intentionally made his report to the captain where the boy could readily overhear it. In fact, it seemed to Winn as if the old sailor was standing within a few inches of his place of concealment when he said: "I'm mighty sorry, Captain Robinson, to have to report that most likely the sharks have gobbled up Winn Burbridge." "Sharks?" Captain Jim repeated. "Ay, sir. When I carried the ungrateful little villain his breakfast, what does he do but make a rush out, upsetting me and getting on deck before I could so much as say 'Jack Robinson.' Then" "Didn't you have sense enough to think he might try some such game as that?" Winn heard Bart Gerry interrupt angrily. "I didn't allow he'd be so crazy as to go over the rail where the sharks are as thick as blackberries in 'Squire Kelly's pasture. Even if you'd warned me to look out for any sich trick, I'd 'a' said to myself he couldn't done more'n give me a chase 'round the decks for a spell. But it must have been in his head to kill hisself rather than go back to Fairhaven an' be tried for stealin', 'cause he took to the water as if he'd made up his mind for it beforehand." "Are you certain he didn't swim ashore?" Captain Jim asked anxiously, and Gerry said with a laugh, as if the news of the boy's probable death pleased him: "How far do you reckon he or anybody else could swim where the water is fairly alive with sharks?" "Of course it stands to reason he didn't live many minutes after goin' over the rail. How...

Secrets of the World's Undiscovered Treasures by Lionel and Patricia Fanthorpe Pdf

Treasures of many kinds still lie hidden below crumbling castles and ruined monasteries; in macabre tombs; in subterranean labyrinths and sinister caverns. Many sunken treasures lie beneath the seas, oceans and lakes of the world. Vast stores of pirate gold are still hidden on many a real life treasure island such as Oak Island at Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Many treasures were looted, hidden and lost after the two World Wars - Hermann Goering, for example, one of most powerful leaders of Nazi Germany, is strongly suspected of hiding huge treasures at Veldenstein and Lake Zeller. This fascinating, expertly researched book brilliantly reveals all these unsolved mysteries. The final section covers useful ideas for treasure-seekers: the study of old maps and charts; coded messages; secret symbols; and intensive research into the lives and locations of those people through out history who probably in all certainty, had treasure to hide.
