Discipleship 101 by R. J. Bartholomew Pdf

Discipleship 101 The Battle of Wills For false Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24: 24 NKJV Two thousand years ago, a series of events took place that radically changed the hearts and minds of many persons. This change of heart occurred in those who were exposed to, and believed in, the teachings of a man named Jesus. Since then many groups (de-nominations) have risen up. Each claim to have exclusive knowledge and authority that others should surely acknowledge and follow. As a result, a lot of wild growth flourishes along the true pathway making it difficult to walk on. Throughout this book Ive attempted to show many irrefutable truths using scripture and documented history where it seemed appropriate. My purpose has been to try to get people to think critically about what they believe and why they believe it. What Ive tried to do is cut through the briers and underbrush so that you can see the pathway more clearly and move ahead to new heights. Its a beautiful view up there. I invite you to walk along so that you can see it for yourself. If youre an atheist, I know how you feel. Thirty one and a half years ago I was an atheist as well. Back then, there was a lot I didnt know that I now know to be true. I hope youll open your mind and come along too. What youll see will surprise you. Look among the nations and watch and be utterly astounded. For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. Habakkuk 1: 5 (NKJV)

Christian Discipleship 101 by Roderick L. Evans Pdf

Christians are called to be disciples. Though we engage in religious services and ministries, the pursuit of discipleship must be the foundation for the Christian's life and service. In this study, we will examine three parables: the parables of the hidden treasure, the pearl of great price, and the unmerciful servant. As we learn from these parables, we will stay on the path to true discipleship.

Basic Discipleship 101 by Ron Hordyk Pdf

For we are God's fellow-workers; you are God's field, God's building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 1 Corinthians 3:9-10 When someone starts to build a house, he first lays the foundation on which the rest of the house will be built. If the foundation is not built correctly, the rest of the building will be compromised, affecting not only its immediate use but also its longevity. The previous scripture states that the church must also lay a good foundation in new believers. The Bible contains specific teachings that form the foundation of the Christian faith. To overlook even one of these teachings will affect how we perceive the rest of the Christian faith. An obvious example is to teach judgment without mercy, a teaching which causes the church to be legalistic. However, to teach mercy without judgment causes the church to give license to sin. Both teachings are essential, for the one teaching balances the other. When a person accepts Jesus as his Savior and Lord, most churches place the person in their ongoing programs, with the hope that he will grow. However, a new believer does not share the foundational truths that mature Christians have. The minister may make statements which out of context will appear harsh, but are not harsh when placed in the context of other accepted teachings. For this reason, the church must give new believers a foundation which will allow for a balance, in regard to the teachings to which they will be exposed. Basic Discipleship 101 is written to give new born believers the foundation on which they can build their Christian faith. In this collection of studies, we will examine what it means to become a Christian, identify the principle players in salvation, and examine the elementary truths on which the sermons they will be exposed to will be built upon. Welcome to Basic Discipleship 101.

Lord, Disciple Me by Richard Mull Pdf

Jesus commanded all of his disciples to "go and make disciples of all nations." This book dares you to examine how Jesus Himself made disciples. What is discipleship, according to Jesus? Can the church today possess the power of the early church? Does God still use His people to heal the sick? Are miracles and deliverance still part of Jesus' disciple making agenda? Richard Mull's honest account of his personal journey toward biblical discipleship presents a dilemma for twenty-first century believers: Will you adopt a system of belief that explains why we disciple differently than Jesus did, or admit that in spite of our education and experience, we may not be making disciples according to Jesus' teaching? God desires to take you on a journey much like that of Jesus' first disciples, who learned to do what Jesus was doing by observing Him in action and obeying what He taught. Lord, Disciple Me will challenge you to develop a biblical foundation for your journey. Jesus will provide the hand-on experience!

Accelerating Human Evolution by Theosophical Initiation by Yves Mühlematter Pdf

The main subjects of analysis in the present book are the stages of initiation in the grand scheme of Theosophical evolution. These initiatory steps are connected to an idea of evolutionary self-development by means of a set of virtues that are relative to the individual’s position on the path of evolution. The central thesis is that these stages were translated from the “Hindu” tradition to the “Theosophical” tradition through multifaceted “hybridization processes” in which several Indian members of the Theosophical Society partook. Starting with Annie Besant’s early Theosophy, the stages of initiation are traced through Blavatsky’s work to Manilal Dvivedi and T. Subba Row, both Indian members of the Theosophical Society, and then on to the Sanâtana Dharma Text Books. In 1898, the English Theosophist Annie Besant and the Indian Theosophist Bhagavan Das together founded the Central Hindu College, Benares, which became the nucleus around which the Benares Hindu University was instituted in 1915. In this context the Sanâtana Dharma Text Books were published. Mühlematter shows that the stages of initiation were the blueprint for Annie Besant’s pedagogy, which she implemented in the Central Hindu College in Benares. In doing so, he succeeds in making intelligible how “esoteric” knowledge was transferred to public institutions and how a broader public could be reached as a result. The dissertation has been awarded the ESSWE PhD Thesis prize 2022 by the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism.

Family Discipleship by Matt Chandler,Adam Griffin Pdf

The most important disciple a parent will make is within their own home, and yet this is the most difficult disciple to make. Family Discipleship by Matt Chandler and Adam Griffin helps readers develop a sustainable rhythm of gospel-centered discipleship through a guided framework focusing on moments of discipleship in 3 key areas: time (intentional time gathering your family around gospel activities or conversations), moments (leveraging opportunities throughout the day), and milestones (celebrating significant life events). Each section provides parents with Scriptures to consider, questions to answer, structures to implement, and ideas to try out as they seek to see Christ formed in their children. Here is a book that begins with the end in mind, offering ideas and examples of what gospel-centered family discipleship looks like, helping parents design their own discipleship plan as they seek to raise children in the love and fear of the Lord.

Intermediate Discipleship 201 by Ron Hordyk Pdf

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have--Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials--gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. 1 Cor.3:11-13 NLT My second book of the series on discipleship builds on the foundation laid in Basic Discipleship 101. When I first received Christ into my life, I began to change dramatically. However, after the initial change, many other sins still needed to be addressed--some that proved to be more tenacious. Even though other people could not see these sins, I longed to be free from them. Driven by my guilt, I asked Christian leaders how to overcome sin. No one knew how to present principles that would enable me to overcome sin. In fact, many respected Christians denied the possibility of living a holy life, pleasing to God. One day, I read in the beatitudes: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled." I started fasting and asking Him to teach me. God responded by showing me principles which enabled me to have victory over my sins. Sometimes it came by watching a program or listening to a message, other times in conversation, and still other times through personal Bible study. After forty years, I have accumulated Biblical principles that through Christ can enable a person overcome sin. I am not perfect, but am being perfected. The more I become like Christ, the more I am aware that I am not like Christ. I am on a journey of progressive sanctification in which I continue by faith to gain victory over sins. We will never become sinless, but we can sin less and less as we surrender our lives to Christ. In this collection of studies, we will examine the concept of sin, identify the causes of sin, and consider the principles from the Bible which will enable us to overcome sin. Households and Discipleship by Warren Carter Pdf

This study addresses the question of whether a coherent sequence of pericopes can be identified in Matthew chapters 19-20. Employing audience-oriented criticism, it argues that the authorial audience's knowledge of the philosophical tradition concerning household structures provides that coherent sequence. But the audience also encounters in these chapters a critique of the household tradition's patriarchal and hierarchical structure of the rule of husband over wife, father over children, master over slaves, and the accumulation of wealth as an indicator of social identity. It understands that the community of disciples is to exhibit more egalitarian patterns. this alternative structure is placed in the context of wider socio-cultural forces which were also resisting aspects of the conventional household pattern. Features of the alternative structure - opposition ot hierarchical structures, a more egalitarian pattern, a temporal framework, marginal social location, minimalization of gender differences and authority roles and relationships, opposition to wealth - can be seen as aspects of an existence which Victor Turner identifies as normative or permanent liminality. that is, the study of chapters 19-20 contributes significantly to the formulation of the larger pattern of Matthean discipleship.
