Eat This Book Or Use it for Toilet Paper by Mark Stibbe Pdf

Don't Panic in the Corona Storm! We are living, without any doubt, through one of the greatest global crises in history. Many nations are now in total lockdown as the virus known as COVID-19 spreads across the Earth. Hospitals are being overrun and entire economies are in great danger of meltdown. We are in what Mark Stibbe calls a "Corona Storm." While many news outlets and conspiracy theorists are inciting a spirit of fear, Mark Stibbe encourages us to realize that the best antidote is to press the reset button in our lives and to initiate a pandemic of love - love for God, for our neighbor, for ourselves. Many people are responding to the Corona Storm like orphans, hoarding food and toilet rolls, acting out of a center of fear. A much healthier, wiser and more Biblical approach is to behave like God's sons and daughters and to live from a center of love. This is not the time to stockpile toilet rolls. It's time for putting first things first and for falling in love with God. In this current storm, the world is waiting, and the Earth is groaning, for such as these.

We Are the Ocean by Epeli Hau‘ofa Pdf

We Are the Ocean is a collection of essays, fiction, and poetry by Epeli Hau‘ofa, whose writing over the past three decades has consistently challenged prevailing notions about Oceania and prescriptions for its development. He highlights major problems confronted by the region and suggests alternative perspectives and ways in which its people might reorganize to relate effectively to the changing world. Hau‘ofa’s essays criss-cross Oceania, creating a navigator’s star chart of discussion and debate. Spurning the arcana of the intellectual establishments where he was schooled, Hau‘ofa has crafted a distinctive—often lyrical, at times angry—voice that speaks directly to the people of the region and the general reader. He conveys his thoughts from diverse standpoints: university-based analyst, essayist, satirist and humorist, and practical catalyst for creativity. According to Hau‘ofa, only through creative originality in all fields of endeavor can the people of Oceania hope to strengthen their capacity to engage the forces of globalization. “Our Sea of Islands,” “The Ocean in Us,” “Pasts to Remember,” and “Our Place Within,” all of which are included in this collection, outline some of Hau‘ofa’s ideas for the emergence of a stronger and freer Oceania. Throughout he expresses his concern with the environment and suggests that the most important role that the “people of the sea” can assume is as custodians of the Pacific, the vast area of the world’s largest body of water.

Eat Like a Fish by Bren Smith Pdf

JAMES BEARD AWARD WINNER IACP Cookbook Award nominee In the face of apocalyptic climate change, a former fisherman shares a bold and hopeful new vision for saving the planet: farming the ocean. Here Bren Smith—pioneer of regenerative ocean agriculture—introduces the world to a groundbreaking solution to the global climate crisis. A genre-defining “climate memoir,” Eat Like a Fish interweaves Smith’s own life—from sailing the high seas aboard commercial fishing trawlers to developing new forms of ocean farming to surfing the frontiers of the food movement—with actionable food policy and practical advice on ocean farming. Written with the humor and swagger of a fisherman telling a late-night tale, it is a powerful story of environmental renewal, and a must-read guide to saving our oceans, feeding the world, and—by creating new jobs up and down the coasts—putting working class Americans back to work.

India by Fritz Blackwell Pdf

An all-encompassing and engrossing look at India—a land as diverse as its religions and as vibrant as its vast population. With a population second only to China's and the birthplace of Hinduism and Buddhism, it is hard to dispute India's central role in both the history of Asian culture and in the defining position it enjoys today. Although India has grabbed media attention for its armed conflict with Pakistan, it is a nation perhaps more notable for its internal diversity and challenges than for a single external conflict. India: A Global Studies Handbook unites the geography, history, culture, notable people, and events into a wide-ranging yet concise work that brings this fascinating land to the page. Of interest to academic and general audiences, this volume presents an uncomplicated look at the varied, bustling nation of India. From geography that includes the Himalayas to a cultural fabric built upon the often-criticized caste system, India remains a land of mystery and intrigue.

My Father's Guide for Prostate Cancer by Ricky Wuorenma Pdf

The book started out in 2010 as a private retirement project for the kids. It expanded into writing about the health benefits of eating real food after listening to what the grandchildren were eating in school. Then came the big announcement day. “Rick...you have cancer,” and the time clock for enjoying a full retirement promptly crashed and burned. Out of the ashes came the revelation that men are dying from prostate cancer and all I see and hear is a women’s cancer message. I was then motivated to share what the prostate cancer stage IV(c), Gleason score of 9 announcement felt like from a type-A personality, goal-setting man. Now a guide, the pages tell the story right up to when the time it takes for a half-day of production takes three days of rest and pain pills. Brutal is not a big enough word. Read the guide and soak in this fact. All men will have prostate cancer by age eighty-four. So says my oncologist. Suffer the consequences of not paying attention to the numbers and not going for a complete physical after age thirty-five. My red light flashed bright when I heard from the urologist the blood in my semen will go away in a couple of weeks. It did. The cancer did not. The year was 2011. I should have insisted further testing be done and closer follow-up visits be scheduled.
