Numerous studies undertaken globally and in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Region indicate that a high percentage of all who seek help in any health facility suffer only from a mental health related problem. These problems usually go undiagnosed, and the result is unnecessary load on already overburdened general health facilities.
