From the Pit to the Pulpit by Wanda Banfield Pdf

It has been said that books change lives, From The Pit to The Pulpit is one of those books. You often hear people say that someone has hit rock bottom, well Wanda Banfield hit rock bottom. She journeyed to the pit of hell and like the phoenix, she rose to now teach the word of God from the pulpit. It's no mystery how she did it; God did it! But her journey was not alone, her now husband Paul was at her side when her drug addiction caused her to do things that she could've never imagined. And Paul is at her side now as she shares the Good News. Wanda blames no one for the mess her life became, but she gives God total credit for fixing the mess. The road she traveled could have and some would say, should have led to her death. This country girl from Central Florida became a hardcore drug addict, willing to do any and everything to feed her addiction. But her life has changed and with this book and her ministry, she is determined to change the lives of others. If this book doesn't inspire and motivate you, perhaps nothing will.

From the Pit to the Pulpit by Allen E. Peratt Pdf

Allen E. Peratt, Sr. is a pastor, chaplain and cancer survivor whose story has taken him through abuse, addiction, military service, trauma, loss, imprisonment, and, eventually, salvation. From the moment he was born on April Fool's Day of 1948, it was clear he would face many challenges. Allen's earliest years were marked by abuse, time spent in foster homes, and his parents struggles with alcoholism. As a teenager, he and his family became Christians, and Allen eventually began attending seminary. His own struggles with alcoholism took over, though, and he was expelled from seminary and turned away from his faith, eventually falling into a lifestyle of addiction and crime that would ultimately land him in prison. Through this unlikely journey, Allen found his way back to God. Allen has devoted the later years of his life to helping others through Christ. He became an ordained minister in 1997, working with addicts, alcoholics, and convicts on the road to salvation. He became the first ex-convict to be a volunteer Chaplain at the South Dakota State Penitentiary. In May of 2011, Allen was granted a Presidential Pardon by President Barack Obama. He credits the saving grace of Jesus Christ for this monumental moment. Today, Allen serves as the Chaplain for Volunteers of America, Dakotas, a Christian nonprofit based in Sioux Falls, SD, where he is affectionately known as Pastor Al. He and his wife Teresa are the happy parents to two beautiful children, Allen, Jr. and Skyler.

From the Guttermost to the Uttermost by Winston Baker Pdf

“From the Guttermost to the Uttermost,” is the latest book from Apostle Winston G. Baker. It will take you through his captivating journey from being the number one dancer in his home town, Savanna-la-mar, to becoming one of God’s dynamic mouth-piece of this era. His story shows how God can shift one from condemnation to congregation and from the ‘pit’ to the pulpit. His call to God is nothing short of the Apostle Paul’s encounter on the Damascus Road. His many trials and temptations caused him to fervently seek the Lord; which resulted in him being moved out of the Gutter of poverty and sin, to the Utter of prosperity, peace, love and joy in the Holy Ghost. Journeying with God, Apostle Baker willingly shares wisdom keys to unlocking one’s harvest and being ultimately seated in the uttermost as a child of God. Journey with Apostle Baker – From the Gutter-most to the Uttermost.

Poverty from the Pulpit by Igho Herbert Pdf

Poverty has several definitions, depending on who's defining and from what perspective. For this discourse, we define it as emptiness that borders on acute lack--be it spiritual, social, material, economic, financial or political; the absence of basic provisions that makes a person's life meaningful and bearable. It's not just the absence of food, shelter or clothing but also the absence of health-care (by whatever definition), social rights and access to education, justice and public political space to shape events in the social environment. It's a measure of societal development (Seers 1977). Poverty level defines social status--which determines social access. Poverty is better explained or defined fully by the person experiencing it, with the right words and/or images for others to understand. Poverty is personal yet very public, As its presence is a collective condemnation of society (secular/spiritual). Paradoxically, poverty from close quarters (trusted by us), Is like friendly fire in a combat zone. Armies train their soldiers to take on enemy fire, and prevail. Friendly fire? It's not only a different kind of fire, it's unanticipated and response is difficult. Its impact is painful and response is challenging because relationships are involved. There's a shocking devastation because of its source. Poverty from a close quarter like a pulpit is really difficult to comprehend left alone deal with. Though difficult, friendly fire requires a response and to get on with the war at hand. We need the same approach in dealing with poverty from a very close source like a pulpit. Poverty from the Pulpit is a Christian-sociological analysis of poverty within the body of Christ in this era of "prosperity theology" that pervades Christendom today. it asks Christians everywhere to question their perception of poverty and see where the source of their poverty is and where the solution lies.

Expository Exultation by John Piper Pdf

“God has appointed preaching in worship as one great means of accomplishing his ultimate goal in the world.” —John Piper John Piper makes a compelling claim in these pages about the purpose of preaching: it is intended not merely as an explanation of the text but also as a means of awakening worship by being worship in and of itself. Christian preaching is a God-appointed miracle aiming to awaken the supernatural seeing, savoring, and showing of the glory of Christ. Distilling over forty years of experience in preaching and teaching, Piper shows preachers how and what to communicate from God’s Word, so that God’s purpose on earth will advance through Biblesaturated, Christ-exalting, God-centered preaching—in other words, expository exultation.
