Goal Setter by Dr. Rashad Vance Pdf

Looking back, my life at school wasn't quite easy for me. Sometimes I hated school, but I was so determined to wrestle at the division I level, that I worked as hard as I could in order to accomplish that goal. I hardly ever focused on my problems; For the most part, I focused on exerting myself in ways that set me aside and away from the rest. Upon earning my masters and doctoral degree, I had to work just as hard, if not, way harder than I had before. During this process, I had an epiphany. If I put forth the effort into excelling and keeping my mind focused on achieving my goals, then I could and would accomplish anything I've ever dreamt of. This book talks about how wrestling at the division 1 level prepared me to earn my doctorate degree and equipped me for success despite having to face many ongoing challenges. Today, I am an educator for the Baltimore City Public Schools System (BCPSS) and a mixed martial arts champion. Furthermore, I run multiple small businesses while I teach fitness and mixed martial arts lessons in my community; In addition to performing sports administration duties for Baltimore City Recreation and Parks. Early in life, I developed a work ethic and learned discipline coupled with delayed gratification. This has prepared me to get through school as a collegiate athlete and to also make hard sacrifices which allowed me to earn my doctorate degree.

Reflective Goal Setting by Cheryl J. Travers Pdf

This book presents, for the first time, a comprehensive overview of the Reflective Goal Setting model, its theoretical framework and origins, and its practical applications for personal development, improved coping and reduced stress, academic growth and performance and leadership. Divided into three parts, the author begins by examining the particular importance of personal development, and in particular soft and interpersonal skills development. It addresses the limitations of current personal development and leadership education and training for the transfer of learning, before outlining how Reflective Goal Setting fulfils this need. It presents a critical review of Goal Setting Theory and approaches to reflective practice that demonstrates how the Reflective Goal Setting model was developed from, and builds upon, these earlier approaches. Drawing on original research and illustrative case studies, the author details the cyclical five step process of the Reflective Goal Setting model across 5 chapters - forming Part 2 of the book. Part 3 examines the practical applications and impact of using Reflective Goal Setting, employing illustrative case studies from a variety of settings including higher education, professional development and executive education. This innovative work will provide a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners in Organisational and Industrial Psychology, Education, and Business and Management and indeed anyone who wants to work on their own personal development.

Goal Attainment Scaling by Thomas J. Kiresuk,Aaron Smith,Joseph E. Cardillo Pdf

There is an extensive literature on Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS), but the publications are widely scattered and often inaccessible, covering several foreign countries and many professional disciplines and fields of application. This book provides both a user manual and a complete reference work on GAS, including a comprehensive account of what the method is, what its strengths and limitations are, how it can be used, and what it can offer. The book is designed to be of interest to service providers, program directors and administrators, service and business organizations, program evaluators, researchers, and students in a variety of fields. No previous account of GAS has provided an up-to-date, comprehensive description and explanation of the technique. The chapters include a basic "how to do it" handbook, step-by-step implementation instructions, frequently occurring problems and what should be done about them, methods for monitoring the quality of the goal setting process, and a discussion of policy and administration issues. There are many illustrations from actual applications including examples of goals scaled for the individual, the specific program, the agency, or the total system. Procedures for training and estimates of training costs are also provided.
