Rich Wounds by David Mathis Pdf

Profound reflections on the cross that help you to meditate on and marvel at the sacrificial love of Jesus. This book can be used as a devotional, especially during Lent and Easter. These profound reflections on the cross from David Mathis, author of The Christmas We Didn’t Expect, will help you to meditate on and marvel at Jesus’ life, sacrificial death, and spectacular resurrection-enabling you to treasure anew who Jesus is and what he has done. Many of us are so familiar with the Easter story that it becomes easy to miss subtle details and difficult to really enjoy its meaning. This book will help you to pause and marvel at Jesus, whose now-glorified wounds are a sign of his unfailing love and the decisive victory that he has won: “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5) This book can be used as a devotional. The chapters on Holy Week make it especially helpful during the Lent season and at Easter.

Do you ever wonder why Jeffrey talks all of the time? Or why Toni can't sit still? Or why Alex loves work sheets? Or why Jordan is always trying something new? Each chapter is fun to read, stimulating, and immensely practical. This book is valuable to teachers, and for preachers, too. DAVID R. MAINS DIRECTOR, CHAPEL OF THE AIR It's about time. Creative Teaching Methods is not just another book on the theory of creativity (which we don't need). Rather, it is a book on the practice of creativity in the classroom (which we desperately need). This is a book you will use over and over again. Creative Teaching Methods is loaded with practical and usable ideas that will make creative teaching a reality in your classroom. Without hesitation, I would recommend this book to anyone who teaches young people or adults. MIKE YACONELLI PRESIDENT, YOUTH SPECIALTIES Marlene LeFever makes the principle of learning through creative participation come alive for Christian education. God Is with Us: A Teacher Devotional by Dru Cox Pearcy Pdf

God Is with Us was written with a heart to uplift and help other educators to remain faithful to God and recognize that He is with us in the classroom. This devotional is designed to encourage and challenge teachers with insightful devotions which use relatable classroom experiences, Bible passages, godly principles, and sincere prayers that will influence readers to recognize and consider God's presence in all aspects of their lives, including their classroom. A Bible reading is suggested to encourage readers to glean truth from the Word of God. Faith is built by reading His Word. God Is with Us is compiled of 90 devotions. They are divided into ten sections and organized by topics such as classroom practices, prayer, daily walk, and positivity. Each devotion is followed with a section for the reader to write thoughts, verses, and/or prayers. Circling back to specific devotions throughout the school year for encouragement and/or to reflect on previous notes or thoughts is a great idea! Rereading the 90 devotions and self-reflection pages may lead to further encouragement such as answered prayers, student growth, and scriptural reinforcement. As a bonus, a few prayers and poetry have been included. The prayers were developed and used at the beginning of a school year, before state testing, and with the use of Bible verses. The poetry was written for the holidays and are some of my favorites. Whether the scriptures used, devotions shared, sincere prayers offered, or self-reflection written, it is essential that we all remember God Is with Us. My name is Dru Cox Pearcy. I have been a Christian for over 50 years. I have been an educator for over 22 years as an upper elementary school teacher in three different buildings in the same corporation. I have been recognized by my colleagues in each building as their "Teacher of the Year" candidate. That honor was based on classroom teaching, teacher leadership, building cultural influence, and community interactions. I credit those honors to God's leading and blessing on my life. My father was my pastor and counselor. He taught me to listen intently, consider God's principles in every situation, and then draw from the Word of God and apply it to my life. He taught me to consider every detail and step in my life from the perspective of God and His Word. I have practiced those principles in my classroom and began ten years ago to write my own devotions to lead in my small Bible study groups. I'm approaching retirement and accepted a challenge by Dr. David Jeremiah to take a risk and do something meaningful for the Lord. This book came about because I accepted the challenge.

Bible-Shaped Teaching by John Shortt Pdf

The Bible can and should be an environment in which we live and move and have our being, an environment in which we are shaped by God in different and interrelated ways. As with aspects of our physical environment, we may have never noticed many elements of this spiritual environment before or may have only the vaguest sense of their influence. While we may be more familiar with certain elements, we may not realize the full extent of their influence or be too preoccupied to see how they relate to form the larger whole of how we are shaped. This book looks one-by-one at several ways in which the Bible's environment influences us as people and, in particular, shapes our beliefs, attitudes, and practices as teachers in the classroom. It is concerned with helping readers to be, at one and the same time, faithful to our common calling as educators and faithful to the Scriptures as Christians.

Future Grace, Revised Edition by John Piper Pdf

In this revision of a foundational work, John Piper reveals how grace is not only God’s undeserved gift to us in the past, but also God’s power to make good happen for us today, tomorrow, and forever. True life for the follower of Jesus really is a moment-by-moment trust that God is dependable and fulfills his promises. This is living by faith in future grace, which provides God's mercy, provision, and wisdom—everything we need—to accomplish his good plans for us. In Future Grace, chapter by chapter—one for each day of the month—Piper reveals how cherishing the promises of God helps break the power of persistent sin issues like anxiety, despondency, greed, lust, bitterness, impatience, pride, misplaced shame, and more. Ultimate joy, peace, and hope in life and death are found in a confident, continual awareness of the reality of future grace.
