God's Strange Work by David L. Rowe Pdf

William Miller was the founder of the modern American millennial tradition. Using various dates found in scripture, he sought to calculate the chronology of Christ's return to earth. Although his prediction that Christ would visibly return in 1843 failed spectacularly, followers reinterpreted his message and laid the basis for the modern Seventh-day Adventist Church. In this book, David L. Rowe utilizes the vast collection of Miller primary materials to reconstruct Miller's life. He relies on information found in correspondence. Rowe gives special attention to the Miller family connections and to Miller's personal identity struggles, documenting a deep tension between proclivities for both obedience and rebellion.

Strange Work by Rev Herbert Melville Munson Jr Pdf

Strange Work is a verse by verse commentary on the Bible book of Revelation. Nearly three millennia ago, the prophet Isaiah predicted that the Lord God of hosts would one day rise up and do a strange work on the Earth. He said it would come as a destruction upon the whole earth (Isaiah 28:21-22). The last thing that modern man expects is that the true and living God will one day actually intervene upon the Earth. Yet, with one voice, the prophets of the Bible predict that is exactly what He will do. The book of Revelation is the most detailed of the Bible's prophecies of that fast approaching supernatural intervention on planet Earth. Someone has dubbed the book of Revelation, ""The prophetic Grand Central Station of the Bible."" That is a very good way to describe it. All the great eschatological (end time) themes in the Bible run to the book of Revelation like train-tracks to a central hub.

This book explores the importance of Ephraim and the lost tribes of Israel in regards to the establishment of Zion in the last days. In the restoration of all things, spoken of by the prophets of old, God will bring about the restoration of the whole house of Israel, gather the lost tribes to a place of refuge, and set up an ensign for a witness to the world. This event is a mystery that has been hid from the world, and its time is nearly upon us.

His Strange Work, His Strange ACT: The Death of 1/3 of the Human Race by Stanley Ole Lotegeluaki Pdf

God says that in the last days He will do a strange work and bring to pass a strange act. God is destroying Satan and his forces in these last days. He went about it in a strange way. First he commissioned the Carcase to go out and do a Roughwind against the planet, by destroying the U.S.S.R and destroying 500 million tares. When Satan saw the Carcase make his plans that God commissioned him, he destroyed the U.S.S.R himself so that there would be no war, and making God a liar because He said that in the last days there would be a war. Since that did not materialize, God would have lied and Satan would have won the whole Holy war, for God is Holy and does not lie. But Satan did not read the fine print, for God said in Isaiah 27:8 that He stayeth His Roughwind in the days of the East wind. Wind means politics and East wind is eastern politics or Communism. Roughwind means Jihad. Isaiah 27:1"In that day the Lord with His sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan (Satan) the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that is in the (political) sea. 27:8 "In measure, when it ( the church) shooteth forth, thou (satan) wilt debate with it: He ( God) stayeth (stops) His rough wind ( Jihad) in the day of the east wind." (Communism). God commissioned the Carcase to destroy the U.S.S.R but He also would not allow it to be carried out, but Satan destroyed the U.S.S.R anyway because he was spooked. So God did a strange thing and got results. This might seem brilliant but it did havoc to the Carcase. For he planned the assault of the U.S.S.R, tried to carry it out, but God stopped him. He did not know this so his nerves were shattered for he tried. Another thing God stopped the Carcase from doing was warn the Church. God told the Carcase to provide a gospel for the Church, but God did not equip or allow the Carcase to warn the Church that Jesus was returning. The Carcase was supposed to drink up the flood of Satan in Revelation chpt 12, where he was to tell the Church that Jesus talked about the pedophile scandal in Mathew 18:6,7, but so far God has not equipped the Carcase to warn the Church, he needs millions of dollars to advertise to the Church. The Carcase thought that the lottery was an easy way for God to equip him, but so far it has been fruitless. So God has sent the Carcase on an impossible mission. Not only did He not provide, God has given the Carcase bad health, demons infesting him, and having 1/3 of the fallen angels against him. Also God has given him bad kidneys, and boils like St. Job or infirmity like St. Paul, yet God wont heal him. So far it seems hopeless. But this is God doing His strange work, so He could bring about His strange act. Isaiah 28:21 " For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, He shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, ( when He made the sun stand still) that He may do His work, His strange work; and bring to pass His act, His strange act." ( the death of 1/3 of the human race). I know the Carcase will succeed because Isaiah 28:17-19 says a hail of gospel material or "water" will overflow the hiding place- "water" means gospel and Christians are hiding behind the Rapture, tribulation, antichrist, WWIII, doctrine and saying that they will be teleported out of here before the overwhelming scourge or death of 1/3 of the human race happens. That is all a lie, also the Carcase drank up the flood of Satan by disclosing to the Church that the pedophile scandal was predicted by Jesus Christ in Mathew 18:6,7. As Revelation chpt 12:16 says. The Lord informed me today-March 22 2019, that all my problems will end on March 30th when I win the lottery. I knew the numbers beforehand and published them. This is only possible if Jesus Christ was with me and I have been telling the truth about Satan and his frogs. I am vindicated! Ask kdp when I made this amendment.

Worthy by Elyse Fitzpatrick,Eric Schumacher Pdf

What does the Bible say about the value of women? Does the Bible teach that women are as valuable as men or does it portray them as somehow more flawed, more suspect, or weak and easily deceived? Beginning from Genesis and working all the way through the storyline of the Bible, Worthy demonstrates the significant and yes, even surprising, ways that God has used women to accomplish His kingdom goals. Because, like men, they are created in His image, their lives reflect and declare His worth. Worthy will enable and encourage both men and women to embrace this true and lofty vision of God's creation, plan, and their value in His eyes. Bestselling author Elyse Fitzpatrick and pastor Eric Schumacher together invite women to embrace a transformative and empowering view of their Maker, themselves, and the church. But this isn't only a book for women. It is also a book for men, especially leaders, who want to grow in their understanding of God's perspective on women, people who normally make up the majority of their congregations; men who might be wondering if they've missed something amid the abuse scandals that are rocking the church. Might the headlines they're reading today about abuse have their roots in a denigration of the value and worth of women? Worthy: Celebrating the Value of Women will help every reader see the value, place, and calling of women through study questions and a "Digging Deeper" section that will help men and women discover how to cherish, value, and honor one another for God's glory.

Strange Gods by Keith M. Bailey Pdf

Strange Gods brings to life the reality of a growing mission field on our doorsteps and provides tools to vanquish the demons in our neighborhoods. Animism (spirit worship) is moving across North America with an insatiable appetite for destroying our culture, the Church, and our souls. Nothing less than the eternal salvation of millions is at stake. People are increasingly turning to the occult and darkness, but only the glorious and revealing light of Jesus Christ provides true answers. What once was practiced in secrecy is now in the mainstream. This trend is the result of the resurgence of Native American religions, the proliferation of New Age teachings, and the increase of animist immigrants. Dr. Bailey is eminently qualified to write this book. He contends that only through a Spirit-filled Church armed with sound doctrine and the integrity of practical holiness can animistic spirit worship be defeated.

The Word of God and Theology by Karl Barth Pdf

This classic volume of Barth's essays was first published in 1924 under the title 'Das Wort Gottes und die Theologie'. In this brand new English edition all the critical apparatus is translated, each chapter including an explanatory passage giving general historical context and details of Barth's own biography. These essays represent the very best of Barth's work. Far from being superceded by the Church Dogmatics, indeed, a thorough understanding of the Church Dogmatics must presuppose a close knowledge of them. The style is vivid, deeply engaged and engaging, often expressionistic (making frequent use of irony and hyperbole). Peter Gay described Weimar culture as a "dance on the edge of a volcano." If so, then it was essays like these that provided the music.

How God Becomes Real by T.M. Luhrmann Pdf

The hard work required to make God real, how it changes the people who do it, and why it helps explain the enduring power of faith How do gods and spirits come to feel vividly real to people—as if they were standing right next to them? Humans tend to see supernatural agents everywhere, as the cognitive science of religion has shown. But it isn’t easy to maintain a sense that there are invisible spirits who care about you. In How God Becomes Real, acclaimed anthropologist and scholar of religion T. M. Luhrmann argues that people must work incredibly hard to make gods real and that this effort—by changing the people who do it and giving them the benefits they seek from invisible others—helps to explain the enduring power of faith. Drawing on ethnographic studies of evangelical Christians, pagans, magicians, Zoroastrians, Black Catholics, Santeria initiates, and newly orthodox Jews, Luhrmann notes that none of these people behave as if gods and spirits are simply there. Rather, these worshippers make strenuous efforts to create a world in which invisible others matter and can become intensely present and real. The faithful accomplish this through detailed stories, absorption, the cultivation of inner senses, belief in a porous mind, strong sensory experiences, prayer, and other practices. Along the way, Luhrmann shows why faith is harder than belief, why prayer is a metacognitive activity like therapy, why becoming religious is like getting engrossed in a book, and much more. A fascinating account of why religious practices are more powerful than religious beliefs, How God Becomes Real suggests that faith is resilient not because it provides intuitions about gods and spirits—but because it changes the faithful in profound ways.

Strange Gods by Elizabeth Scalia Pdf

Renowned in the blogosphere as The Anchoress and as Catholic Portal editor of the popular Patheos.com, Elizabeth Scalia offers a powerful critique of the “gods” we worship today, reminding readers that life’s deepest desires can be satisfied only in Christ. Strange Gods, Scalia's debut book, is packed full of the iconoclastic vim and vigor that has won her a large, faithful Internet following. She presents readers with a surprising look at the ways in which modern people still commit the sin of idolatry in their everyday lives. While literal golden calves no longer dot the landscape, Scalia describes how legitimate loves become obsessively twisted into idols. She unmasks idolatry in a number of everyday experiences—friendships that become needy or possessive, commitments political and religious that grow so intense they lead to hatred of others, to name a few—and points to the incarnation of Christ and authentic worship of him as a way out of idolatry and into peace, happiness, and love.

Gentle and Lowly by Dane C. Ortlund Pdf

Christians know that God loves them, but can easily feel that he is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. As a result, they focus a lot—and rightly so—on what Jesus has done to appease God’s wrath for sin. But how does Jesus Christ actually feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? This book draws us to Matthew 11, where Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. The gospel flows from God’s deepest heart for his people, a heart of tender love for the sinful and suffering. These chapters take readers into the depths of Christ’s very heart for sinners, diving deep into Bible passages that speak of who Christ is and encouraging readers with the affections of Christ for his people. His longing heart for sinners comforts and sustains readers in their up-and-down lives.

Strange Gods by Susan Jacoby Pdf

In a groundbreaking historical work that focuses on the long, tense convergence of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam with an uncompromising secular perspective, Susan Jacoby illuminates the social and economic forces that have shaped individual faith and the voluntary conversion impulse that has changed the course of Western history—for better and for worse. Covering the triumph of Christianity over paganism in late antiquity, the Spanish Inquisition, John Calvin’s dour theocracy, American plantations where African slaves had to accept their masters’ religion—along with individual converts including Augustine of Hippo, John Donne, Edith Stein, Muhammad Ali, George W. Bush and Mike Pence—Strange Gods makes a powerful case that nothing has been more important in struggle for reason than the right to believe in the God of one’s choice or to reject belief in God altogether.

Making Faith Magnetic by Daniel Strange Pdf

How to talk about Jesus in a way that connects with modern culture. As followers of Jesus, we know that the good news is deeply attractive. But we often fear that to those on the outside, it comes across as irrelevant or even repellent. Sometimes the Christian worldview feels so out of step with everything else going on that we don't know how to share our faith. However, author Daniel Strange wants to show you that the connections are there—in fact, the longings that our culture cannot help but express are the very ones that Jesus fulfils. Building on the work of theologian J.H. Bavinck, Dan reveals five recurring themes that our culture can’t stop talking about, or, as he puts it, the "five permanent ‘itches’ that in our work, rest, and play, we have to vigorously scratch." From TV to books to social media, these are the questions we can't stop asking and the tensions we can't stop wrestling with—and Jesus speaks powerfully into each one. This book will help you to spot these connections in our culture, excite you about how Jesus makes sense of humankind’s deepest questions and longings, apply them to your own life first and then equip you to speak of him to others in a way that is truly magnetic. "Dan Strange has written another terrific, down-to-earth book to help believers engage in fruitful conversations with friends about faith." Dr. Timothy Keller, who has also written the foreword to this book.
