"Gramp's Christmas Tales" is a book containing short stories written for my grandchildren, my little friends at school, and anyone else with a curious mind and a love for Christmas. Some of the tales came from listening to two kindergarten classes at the Elementary school in Gosnell, Arkansas. They were then written and tested on these classes. Most of the tales are from delving into Santa's personal life, which Santa is always eager to share with children of all ages. It does not matter if you are in kindergarten or in a nursing home Santa is always willing to talk if somebody is willing to listen. Gramps listened while he was visiting Santa at the North Pole. I have tried to incorporate good manners, love, friendship, laughter, sharing, safety, and imagination throughout the book. I am a volunteer that has been fortunate enough to find two kindergarten classes that will share their time and affection with me. They refer to me as, "Gramps."
Kindergarten Tales and Then Some by Lloyd Wright Pdf
Kindergarten Tales and Then Some is about students in kindergarten and then some more stories. The story about the bus is intended to show the children riding the school bus the first time there is nothing to fear. When I first went to school I only needed a Big Chief tablet, lead pencil, and a box of crayons. I wrote the story on required school supplies so someday the children now in kindergarten will be able to look back and compare what they needed versus their grandchildren. Santa is present in some of the stories along with his reindeer and sleigh. It goes without saying where there is Santa there will be some of his elves. There are stories about how holidays are celebrated by kindergarten students. The book also tells of the compassion and generosity of the children toward others. Put all the stories together and they will show you the world will be in good hands in the future.
The teenaged girl often asked her grandfather about the stories he shared regarding a ferocious snowstorm that had paralyzed the city in 1975. She was eager to hear more about it because that was the year of her own mother’s birth. Her grandfather decided that the events might have more meaning if he were to take the girl for a ride in the car to actually show her the routes and locations of his experiences during that winter weekend. While they drove through the city their conversation about a pregnant couple’s journey evolved into a deep discussion about another pregnant couple making their way to Bethlehem several thousand years ago. By the time the car ride was over, the young lady had not only discovered more about her own family history, she had also intensified her curiosity about the life and death of Jesus.
Family Ties and Tales (Final Edition) by Doug Boylan Pdf
I have been working about 40 years gathering family stories and digging through libraries and computer archives tracking the history of my families ancestors. It’s the age old question of where did I come from. I was able to find some interesting tales about who our ancestors were, what they did, and how we ended up where we are.

Holiday Specials on Television, 1939-2021 by Vincent Terrace Pdf
In November 1939, NBC's fledgling television station W2XBS broadcast the first known holiday special, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Despite its small viewership (very few TV sets existed at the time), the experimental telecast was a harbinger of a now-beloved American tradition: the holiday television special. This book offers a thorough account of holiday television specials in the United States from 1939 to 2021, highlighting variety shows, comedic performances, musical spectaculars and more. From familiar favorites (1964's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) to campy one-offs (1985's He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special), the 1140 programs are covered alphabetically and feature performance casts, production credits and storylines for each. Three appendices cover "lost" holiday specials, along with Christmas and Halloween-themed episodes of popular television series.
Take a delightful romp back through time and see the world through the eyes of your inner child. Revisit the world in the years following the end of the Second World War, to the children of this country's "Greatest Generation," when innocence, wonder, and awe were alive and well. Go back to the days of two pieces of candy for a penny, the introduction of the Hula-Hoop, and Red Ryder BB guns, the gift that every little boy dreamed of finding beneath the Christmas tree. The world of the baby boomer was a simpler place and time, a time when telephone service meant that you were a part of a "party line," a handshake was better than a signed contract. It was a time when the family sat together to eat their meals and share their dreams and accomplishments, as well as their failures. There was a sweetness to life during those decades. This book offers the reader an intimate look into the daily lives of those who lived the wonder. Recall the memories of many historical events and people. Let the child in you free to explore and reconnect with the values and people of those magical years before the birth of computers, cell phones, and television. Your vacation back in time will be one that you will always remember. Be ready to laugh and cry, but most of all, be prepared to revisit your youth and your dreams. Yesterday awaits. The sock monkey will be your guide.
