When Maria is accused of witchcraft, he opts to stay with her in the past, offering to marry her to save her from a lifetime in prison. Maria agrees, but vows she will never love anyone but Black Sam. Can Dr. Angus win her love? And can he protect her from Black Sam, if he returns? A page-turning challenge ensues, proving that hopefully good once again triumphs over evil. Watch for the sequel, PORT CALL TO THE FUTURE, to learn the other half of the story: what really happened to Black Sam Bellamy?

Holiday House Call by Jen Doyle Pdf

Dr. Karen Carmichael prides herself on being capable, optimistic and always in control. But even neurosurgeons have breaking points, especially as the holidays approach. When Karen finds herself on the side of the road, explaining to a cop that her less-than-stellar driving was due to stress and tears rather than too much booze, it’s humiliating. When that cop turns out to be a one-night stand from her past, it’s icing on the bad-day cake. Officer John “Tuck” Tucker didn’t expect to see Karen again after their night together. The circumstances may not be ideal, but convincing this beautiful, stubborn woman to get to know him with his clothes on is more fun than he could have imagined. Karen swore she’d never fall for someone who risks his life for his job. She sees enough heartbreak at work without inviting it into her personal life, and she has no interest in becoming involved in the small town Tuck calls home. But despite valiant efforts to keep her walls up, her affection for Tuck is growing into something much stronger. With a life built around work alone looking less appealing by the day, Karen will have to take a leap of faith—and trust that Tuck will leap with her. Family Medicine by J. L. Buckingham,E. P. Donatelle,W. E. Jacott,M. G. Rosen,Robert B. Taylor Pdf

JOHN S. MILLIS In 1966 the Citizens Commission on Graduate Medical Education observed that the explosive growth in biomedical science and the consequent increase in medical skill and technology of the twentieth century had made it possible for physicians to respond to the episodes of illness of patients with an ever-increasing effectiveness, but that the increase in knowledge and technology had forced most physicians to concentrate upon a disease entity, an organ or organ system, or a particular mode of diagnosis or therapy. As a result there had been a growing lack of continuing and comprehensive patient care. The Commission expressed the opinion that "Now, in order to bring medicine's enhanced diagnostic and therapeutic powers fully to the benefit of society, it is necessary to have many physicians who can put medicine together again. "! The Commission proceeded to recommend the education and training of sub stantial numbers of Primary Physicians who would, by assuming primary responsi bility for the patient's welfare in sickness and in health, provide continuing and comprehensive health care to the citizens of the United States. In 1978 it is clear that the recommendation has been accepted by the public, the medical profession, and medical education. There has been a vigorous response in the development of family medicine and in the fields of internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics. One is particularly impressed by the wide acceptance on the part of medical students of the concept of the primary physician. Dr. John S.

New Directions in Geriatric Medicine by Lee Ann Lindquist Pdf

This book is designed to present the clinical geriatric trends within general internal medicine and family practice, which practitioners often encounter in caring for their older adult patients. Chapters focus on increasingly difficult clinical decisions that practitioners have to make in caring for older adults, who often experience medical complications due to memory loss, physical disability, and multiple chronic conditions. Written by experts in geriatric medicine, each of these chapters start with the most up-to-date clinical geriatric research and provide specific examples or case studies on how to use this information to address the clinical needs of older adult patients. In addition, there is a set of concise “take-home points” for each chapter that are easy to commit to memory and implement in clinical care of aging patients. As the only book to focus on current trends in geriatric research and evidence-based eldercare practice, Clinical Trends in Geriatric Medicine is of great value to internists, family practitioners, geriatricians, nurses, and physician assistants who care for older adults.
