How many in the upper room received the Holy Ghost? So how can Jesus be God? Who baptizes us with the Holy Ghost? What do we have by one Spirit? Daddy always gives favor to His children because of who He is! Does God want His Spirit to flow from you? Did Jesus say the Spirit would speak in you when you speak in faith in Him? Who asked, “Have ye received the Holy Ghost?” Do you want Jesus to take up for you? On the Day of Pentecost, who interpreted and how were the words understood? How could she be filled with the Holy Ghost before Pentecost? Who said, “The Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us?” And who was he talking about? Can a person be filled and baptized with the Holy Ghost at the same time? We all have access by one Spirit. How can we know the perfect will of God? What one promise has God made to all?

Haunted by the Holy Ghost by Charles Kiker Pdf

Haunted by the Holy Ghost is a geographical, chronological and spiritual autobiography. The author describes the place of his birth: a farm in semi-arid Swisher County in the Texas Panhandle in depression/Dust Bowl days. He describes his schooling at a two-room rural school through elementary years, and his years at a small town high school. The author reflects upon the richness as well as the poverty of those days. He describes his struggles with his call to ministry as a haunting by the Holy Ghost. The reader is taken on a travelogue of the places in which the author and his wife ministered. The spiritual aspect of their lives is always on or just below the surface. At times the author waxes homiletical and theological, with occasional narrations of humorous incidents.

The Holy Ghost by St. Didymas the Blind,D.P. Curtin Pdf

St. Didymas the Blind is one of the most famous Coptic theologians of the early Church, while he is famously regarded as a student of Origen, his own work remains within the orthodox realm. Regrettably, many of his works have been lost to time, as they were not copied for future generations of student. His friend, St. Jerome, was able to make a Latin translation of this work from its original Greek. His work emphasizes the presence of personhood of the Holy Ghost in the Christian Trinity, looking to clarify the orthodox position in the face of perennial confusion that existed amongst his peers and the laity.

Baptized with the Holy Ghost by Grant Ralston,Edward Ralston Pdf

Baptized with the Holy Ghost has been designed to briefly explain the Pentecostal perspective on the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Pentecostals are dedicated to a belief in a post-conversion work of the Spirit, a belief that is convincingly articulated in this important book. Pentecostals also maintain that speaking in tongues is the initial, physical evidence of this glorious experience. While many might shy away from the biblical teaching on speaking with tongues, we gladly affirm its existence and agree that it is the initial indicator that a believer has received the Holy Ghost, although it is not the only sign. There are many reasons why it is advantageous for Christians to be filled with the Holy Ghost that are presented. God has established certain conditions that must be met in order for the gift of the Holy Ghost to be received. We endeavor to answer questions and issues closely connected to this topic, such as if tongues ceased and whether every believer speaks in tongues. Baptized with the Holy Ghost will not only inform you about this precious experience available to every child of God, but it will also create within you a desire to enjoy for yourself the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

Getting the Holy Ghost by Peter Marina Pdf

This book carries an ethnographic signature in approach and style, and is an examination of a small Brooklyn, New York, African-American, Pentecostal church congregation and is based on ethnographic notes taken over the course of four years. The Pentecostal Church is known to outsiders almost exclusively for its members’ “bizarre” habit of speaking in tongues. This ethnography, however, puts those outsiders inside the church pews, as it paints a portrait of piety, compassion, caring, love—all embraced through an embodiment perspective, as the church’s members experience these forces in the most personal ways through religious conversion. Central themes include concerns with the notion of “spectacle” because of the grand bodily display that is highlighted by spiritual struggle, social aspiration, punishment and spontaneous explosions of a variety of emotions in the public sphere. The approach to sociology throughout this work incorporates the striking dialectic of history and biography to penetrate and interact with religiously inspired residents of the inner-city in a quest to make sense both empirically and theoretically of this rapidly changing, surprising and highly contradictory late-modern church scene. The focus on the individual process of becoming Pentecostal provides a road map into the church and canvasses an intimate view into the lives of its members, capturing their stories as they proceed in their Pentecostal careers. This book challenges important sociological concepts like crisis to explain religious seekership and conversion, while developing new concepts such as “God Hunting” and “Holy Ghost Capital” to explain the process through which individuals become tongue-speaking Pentecostals. Church members acquire “Holy Ghost Capital” and construct a Pentecostal identity through a relationship narrative to establish personal status and power through conflicting tongue-speaking ideas. Finally, this book examines the futures of the small and large, institutionally affiliated Pentecostal Church and argues that the small Pentecostal Church is better able to resist modern rationalizing forces, retaining the charisma that sparked the initial religious movement. The power of charisma in the small church has far-reaching consequences and implications for the future of Pentecostalism and its followers.
