Detect, Treat and Kill-The 3-Step Termite Control Guide for the Homeowner by Cassidy P. Juanich Pdf

Termite damage can cause billions of dollars in home repair every year. The average cost each year is estimated at $2.5 billion, but what "s worst is, most home insurers do not cover home repairs for termite damage. So, that "s dollars spent straight up from your own pocket. Imagine the financial and emotional strain this can cause the average American household especially in this difficult economic time. No wonder termites are called pests!Termites feed on wood most of the time but can also eat up paper stacks, books, insulation and any other part or things around the house that are rotting out.Termites populate abundantly during wet weather but they don "t go away during the summer months. That "s why the house needs to be termite-proofed before the wet season so that termites don "t get in. Once they get in and settle they can grow into colonies numbering in the hundred-thousands. Once a termite infestation happens it can be difficult to control and the damage to the house structure can become widespread very quickly. For total termite home protection, the homeowner needs to do 3 vital steps. The first, to detect the signs of termites within the home; the second, to apply the correct treatment to slow down the spread of existing termites and prevent the growth of new ones; the third, to kill the soldiers and queen and completely destroy the colony. Use the information in this book to guide you through the 3 steps needed for effective termite control.

Biology of Termites by Kumar Krishna Pdf

Biology of Termites, Volume I presents the anatomical, physiological, biochemical, and behavioral laboratory and field studies of termite species. Although termites have been associated mainly with damage, only less than 10% of the species have actually been recorded as pests, obscuring their important ecological role in the breakdown of vegetative matter and their variety and complexity of structure, physiology, social behavior, caste differentiation and regulation, and other aspects of their biology. After briefly describing the social organization, classification, and research history of termites, the book discusses the external morphology of these species and the similarities and differences between the various groups and the different castes. The subsequent chapters cover the internal anatomy of termites, including their digestive physiology, exocrine and endocrine glands, reproductive and nervous systems, and sense organs. Other chapters deal with the social behavior and communication in the termites and the termite colonizing flights and associated activities. The book also examines caste differentiation in the three lower termite families, namely, Hodotermitidae, Kalotermitidae, and Rhinotermitidae. This volume includes discussions on the rearing, feeding, and biochemistry of termites; the radioisotopes for feeding studies; and the moisture requirements for termite survival. The concluding chapters deal with the introduction or interception of termites by humans and their association with fungi, as well as the relationships of termite hosts with termitophiles. Termite biologists, zoologists, botanists, ecologists, behaviorists, biochemists, endocrinologists, and economic entomologists will find this volume invaluable.

Termite Control for Homeowners by Mifang Ruan Pdf

This book is arranged into two parts. The first part will present general termite knowledge. Knowing termites is a key to prevent termite from attacking properties and to catch early signs of termite infestation to avoid severe property damages. In the second part of this book we will present our newly invented termite detection and baiting solution based on a US patent we obtained in 2015 - Ruan's Termite Solution(R). It allows you to construct termite detection stations onsite using readily available materials, no devices to buy. Only when termites are detected you will need to buy a type of chemical to destroy the termite colonies; that chemical costs a little more than $20. Compared with other existing termite baiting methods, our method is faster, more effective and more reliable. Termites cause billions of dollars of property damages each year in the United States alone. The first reason is that homeowners often lack of termite knowledge and termites always hide from us, it often happens that termites cause severe damages to houses before homeowners even notice. The second reason is that termite control is difficult. For subterranean termites, that is the type of termites causing majority of property damages, they nest deeply underground where you will not be able to reach and find. Although many people might not see termites, the fact is that termites live in the yards of many American homes, and surely in the yards in other countries. The existing termite control methods for subterranean termites include barrier treatment that block termites to enter your house and termite baiting methods with objective of killing the termite colonies before they enter your home. The existing methods all have shortcomings. Barrier treatment is more costly and not environmentally friendly. It pours lots of chemical around your house. The existing termite baiting methods are not as effective as homeowners would have hoped. Using the existing termite baiting devices, it is commonly believed that it will take 4 months for termites to find the devices or the devices will never been found; even after termites found the devices they might not feed on the devices continuously; and also the poison used in most of the devices will kill only those young termites and will not affect termite already grown-up. Those shortcomings of existing termite baiting methods make them not as reliable as needed. In this book, we will explain in details why our new invented method can overcome all those shortcomings. We hope that after reading this book, readers will have a correct understanding of termites and know the ways to deal with termites. Also reader will be able to use our new method for detecting and eliminating subterranean termites by themselves with minimal costs. And the result is much better than using other existing termite baiting devices.

Termites You Have to Want To by James R. Melendez Pdf

The Book, "Termites, You Have To Want To", is written by Izzy, the reformed termite and Jim. It is written in the first person by both Izzy and Jim. The purpose of this publication is to put into every-day language the challenges that termite technicians have had to endure in the treatment of structures, understanding the label and in dealing with regulatory agencies for over the past four decades. We will briefly review and discuss the different kinds of termites and their biology so as to have reference points as we journey through this publication. We will then go back in our time machine to view the early developments of our Industry and how it developed and evolved into the monster that it is now. Then we will project into the future using the past and present as our guide. The language used is not fancy or necessarily scientific, as it tends to diminish the clarity of what is being spoken. It is rather in terms understandable to the everyday reader.
