Measuring Spiritual Maturity by Randy Tompkins Pdf

Jesus commissioned His apostles""and, by extension, the church""to make disciples. Many church leaders have come to the conclusion that attending worship services and Bible study classes will result in making disciples. A review of statistical reports indicates a majority of church members and attenders do not believe this process will work, or they have come to the conclusion they do not want to become disciples. The 2010 US Religion Census report indicated 79% of the 150,686,156 members, children, and other attenders did not attend worship services. It also reported over 60% of the same group did not attend Bible study classes. In 2014 one of the major denominations in the United States reported 63% of church members did not attend worship services and 62% did not attend Bible study classes. There are literally thousands of spiritual surveys available to church leaders. A majority of these surveys develop conclusions based on a single survey being administered or two surveys being administered several months apart. If a disciple-making process is to be effective, there needs to be a method of measuring the progress of individuals moving toward spiritual maturity. This type of measurement would produce a visual of spiritual growth, spiritual decline, or spiritual non-growth. The only way to measure the spiritual progress of an individual is to create a measurement of the various elements of the spiritual life. The process of measuring spiritual maturity in this book is self-contained within the participating church, and the responses of the participating individuals are highly confidential and warehoused by the participating church.

Your Church Is Too Safe by Mark Buchanan Pdf

“These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also.” That was the startled cry, circa 50 AD, from a hastily assembled mob in Thessalonica. These men who have turned the world upside: their description of Paul and Silas. Holy vandals on the loose, anointed marauders running amok, men out ransacking Roman cities with the gospel. You’d think they were heralding the arrival of Barbarian hordes, fierce Berserkers descending on poorly fortified villages, not two hungry men with no more than a fire in their bellies and a wildness in their eyes. These were just two ordinary men. But, as Paul says to the Corinthians, he was a man who preached “with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,” a man whose weapons were not of the world but had “divine power to demolish strongholds.” Two simple, ordinary men, walking in the power of God. A whole town in uproar because of them. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the likes of this. Your Church Is Too Safe is an ebook based on a simple idea: that God meant his church to be both good news and bad news, an aroma and a stench – a disruptive force to whoever or whatever opposes the Kingdom of God, and a healing and liberating power to those who seek it. That the church has not always lived this mandate is well-documented. That the church needs to recover this mandate is much touted. Your Church Is Too Safe is a plea, a celebration, and a manifesto. It’s an attempt to call the church to be the church. It is a tribute to the many churches that seek to be this. And it is a roadmap to become this. Above all, Your Church Is Too Safe is a biblical reflection and exhortation on why we should be this. Its main narrative is rooted in the story of how the early church, for all her failings and heresies and squabbles, managed to turn the world upside down. And its principal claim is that the modern church, for all her failings and heresies and squabbles, has every advantage they had, and maybe more, and faces no more challenges than they did, and maybe fewer.

The Tell-Tale Signs of Spiritual Growth by Abi Popoola Pdf

In the birthing of a miracle or blessing, you must have equipped yourself with the reason, or the record of God, detailing that you are entitled to such a blessing, before making your request known to God. (Hebrews 11:6) "Without faith (His evidence that He can do what you came for, His testimony that you are eligible to ask for it, the record of His capability) it is impossible to please God...." So, it is your evidence or testimony of what God can do that should prompt you to come to God in the first place. Testimonies, therefore, are not an account of what has happened, but is the living account of what He said He will do for anyone that believes in Him. They are the account of His faithfulness and dependability for anyone who will obey His word and do them as commanded. Testimonies in our church, COTR-UK, should not be a recall of an event, but a recall of His faithfulness. Pastor Abi is the Senior Pastor and Founder of CHURCH ON THE ROCK UK, an evangelical and Pentecostal commission that started on January 15, 2005. The church is growing in the Southend-On-Sea area of Essex, UK. Pastor Abi is a qualified Medical Doctor and his best area of field was in Cardiology. He is married to Pastor Nike Popoola, a General Practitioner in training, and they started the church with their lovely bundles of joy, Abraham, Victor, and Victoria, their children. Pastor Abi was commissioned as a Pastor in 1993 and since then, has been privilege to Pastor churches both at the Universities and in the local communities of Ogun State, Nigeria and in London, UK; as a Mission Pastor to Barcelona, Spain.

No Silver Bullets by Daniel Im Pdf

What if I told you that you were only one step away from unlocking new levels of maturity and growth in your church? The myth of the silver bullet still exists because we desperately want it to. We all prefer quick fixes and bandage solutions to the long, hard, slow work that produces real change. So the moment we learn about a new ministry or strategy and see its effect in another church, we run to implement it in our own. Unfortunately, this impulse is usually met by opposition, skepticism, and ultimately, rejection. What if the solution isn't a new model or a complicated strategy, but a shift in perspective? What if you could keep your church's current vision, values, and model, and simply make a few micro-shifts...leading to macro-changes? This book explores five micro-shifts that have the potential to produce macro-changes in your church. As you read, you will discover how to integrate these micro-shifts into the life of your church, starting with the way you disciple. You will finish by developing a plan to structure, communicate, and evaluate these changes to ensure that they take root and pave the way for lasting change and kingdom impact.

Spiritual Growth by A.W Pink,Rev Terry Kulakowski, Editor Pdf

Spiritual growth is a mystery and is more evident in some than in others. The more the Holy Spirit shines upon the mind and puts forth His lifegiving influences in the heart, so much the more sin is seen, felt and loathed as the greatest of all evils. And this is an evidence of spiritual growth, namely, to hate sin as sin and to abhor it on account of its contrariety to the nature of God.

Mercy for Today by Jonathan Parnell Pdf

You cannot make it without God’s mercy. Do we just need God’s grace in dark and shameful moments? Are prayers for mercy only for those times when we really mess up? Jonathan Parnell says we need God’s mercy all the time. In fact, contrary to many church cultures, Parnell shows that asking God for mercy should be as regular as asking God for our daily bread. There’s no doubt that David was in a terrible predicament when he first prayed the words of Psalm 51. It was a dark and shameful moment in the Bible, and one so dark and shameful it seldom feels relevant to us today. But David’s most desperate prayer is really a prayer for all of us—and not just for our worst moments, but for our every moment. In these pages, you'll discover: how to pray a daily, memorable prayer derived from Psalm 51 how to practice daily repentance and soul care how to pursue God and experience his joy in the Christian life This is God’s mercy, and it’s Mercy for Today.
