Karma, Mind, and Quest for Happiness by Susmit Kumar Pdf

In Karma, Mind, and Quest for Happiness, Dr. Susmit Kumar seeks to explain certain facts of Tantric philosophy, such as the constituent parts of the mind, the effect of mantra on the mind, and how karma may be scientifically defined and explained. Until recently, people considered units of time and distance in terms of 100-200 years and 100-200 miles; astronomers now measure time and distance in billions of years and trillions of miles. Even so, science can study the scientific laws of only 4 percent of the materials in the universe, as it cannot "see" the remaining 96 percent, referred to as "dark matter" and "dark energy." Great individuals-such as Christ, Buddha, Moses, Prophet Muhammad, and Krishna-knew something about the workings of the Universe that is not common knowledge; this is why we claim their actions to be miracles or religious dogma. Furthermore, during the last 10,000 years, many saints in Asia have explored the human mind and its relationship with the Infinite. Most of them did it after first having established the limitations of physical pleasure and intellectual knowledge. When they started to explore the functioning of their minds and how everything around them was created, they developed a theory called Tantra. In Karma, Mind, and Quest for Happiness, Dr. Kumar will explore how Tantra is free from the distorting influences of time and place.

Casino Capitalism by Dr. Susmit Kumar Pdf

The Arab Spring continues to spread throughout the Middle East, and it will end up transforming Islamic countries just as much as the two World Wars changed Europe. The Great Recession that began in 2008, along with defects in the global economic system, played a large role in the unrest. During the 2000s, the economic prosperity of the United States and much of the world was based on borrowed moneyand, as it turns out, borrowed time. Hedge funds and economic policies of the United States complicated matters further. In this scholarly book, author Dr. Susmit Kumar examines how financial blunders have led to political upheavals in Islamic countries, as well as exploring the history of Islam and Islamic empires; the modernization of Islam; the state of the world economy, and where its headed; and the present situation in Islamic countries. The immediate future promises bloodshed and grandstanding, but in the end, the majority of Islamic countries will become secular and democratic. As with the two World Wars, a cataclysmic turn of events will ultimately unify the world as Islamic countries deal with the fallout from Casino Capitalism.

Companion to Divine Ascension: A Journey to Enlightenment via Selfless Service by Keith R Parker Pdf

In the tapestry of spiritual exploration, Keith R. Parker's "Companion to Divine Ascension" threads an illuminating path through the profound teachings of the early chapters of the Bhagavad Gita, drawing upon the timeless wisdom of Karma Yoga. This work elucidates the idea that “When serving others' desires, we innocently renounce our own," offering a refreshing insight into the balance between self-sacrifice and self-discovery. The book delves deep into the essence of selflessness as verified by Krishna’s teachings, revealing that true liberation and enlightenment stem from the fulfillment of duties without attachment to personal gain. Parker masterfully interprets these ancient scripts, making them accessible and resonant with contemporary seekers of spiritual depth and understanding. Through engaging narratives and practical examples, he revitalizes Krishna’s call to action, encouraging us to dissolve our selfish desires through dedicated service to others, thereby aligning ourselves with the universal flow of creativity and fulfillment. As we navigate the complexities of modern existence, "Companion to Divine Ascension" serves as a guide to achieving higher consciousness through selfless action, embodying the spirit of Karma Yoga in every aspect of daily life. This book is not merely a reflection on spiritual principles but a call to live them authentically, making it an essential companion for anyone on the path to spiritual and personal liberation.

Karma Yoga by Swami Vivekananda Pdf

The word Karma is derived from the Kri, to do; all action is Karma. Technically, this word also means the effects of actions. In connection with metaphysics, it sometimes means the effects, of which our past actions were the causes. But in Karma-Yoga we have simply to do with the word Karma as meaning work. The goal of mankind is knowledge; that is the one ideal placed before us by Eastern philosophy. Pleasure is not the goal of man, but knowledge. Pleasure and happiness come to an end. It is a mistake to suppose that pleasure is the goal; the cause of all the miseries we have in the world is that men foolishly think pleasure to be the ideal to strive for. After a time man finds that it is not happiness, but knowledge, towards which he is going, and that both pleasure and pain are great teachers, and that he learns as much from evil as from good. As pleasure and pain pass before his soul they leave upon it different pictures, and the result of these combined impressions is what is called man's "character." If you take the character of any man it really is but the aggregate of tendencies, the sum-total of the bent of his mind; you will find that misery and happiness are equal factors in the formation of that character. Good and evil have an equal share in moulding character, and in some instances misery is a greater teacher than happiness. In studying the great characters the world has produced, I dare say, in the vast majority of cases, it would be found that it was misery that taught more than happiness, it was poverty that taught more than wealth, it was blows that. brought out their inner fire more than praise. Now this knowledge, again, is inherent in man; no knowledge comes from outside; it is all inside. 'What we say a man "knows," should, in strict psychological language, be what he "discovers" or "unveils"; what a man "learns" is really what he "discovers," by taking the cover off his own soul, which is a mine of infinite knowledge. We say Newton discovered gravitation. Was it sitting anywhere in a corner waiting for him? It was in his own mind; the time came and he found it out. All knowledge that the world has ever received comes from the mind; the infinite library of the universe is in your own mind. The external world is simply the suggestion, the occasion, which sets you to study your own mind, but the object of your study is always your own mind. The falling of an apple gave the suggestion to Newton, and he studied his own mind; he rearranged all the previous links of thought in his mind and discovered a new link among them, which we call the law of gravitation. It was not in the apple nor in anything in the centre of the earth. All knowledge therefore, secular or spiritual, is in the human mind. In many cases it is not discovered, but remains covered, and when the covering is being slowly taken off we say "we are learning," and the advance of knowledge is made by the advance of this process of uncovering. The man from whom this veil is being lifted is the more knowing man; the man upon whom it lies thick is ignorant, and the man from whom it has entirely gone is all-knowing, omniscient. There have been omniscient men, and, I believe, there will be yet; and that there will be myriads of them in the cycles to come. Like fire in a piece of flint, knowledge exists in the mind; suggestion is the friction which brings it out. So with all our feelings and actions - our tears and our smiles, our joys and our griefs, our weeping and our laughter, our curses and our blessings, our praises and our blames - every one of these we may find, if we calmly study our own selves, to have been brought out from within ourselves by so many blows. The result is what we are; all these blows taken together are called Karma, work, action. Every mental and physical blow that is given to the soul.

Mind Training by Thupten Jinpa Pdf

Compiled in the fifteenth century, Mind Training: The Great Collection is the earliest anthology of a special genre of Tibetan literature known as "mind training," or lojong in Tibetan. The principal focus of these texts is the systematic cultivation of such altruistic thoughts and emotions as compassion, love, forbearance, and perseverance. The mind-training teachings are highly revered by the Tibetan people for their pragmatism and down-to-earth advice on coping with the various challenges and hardships that unavoidably characterize everyday human existence. The volume contains forty-four individual texts, including the most important works of the mind training cycle, such as Serlingpa's well-known Leveling Out All Preconceptions, Atisha's Bodhisattva's Jewel Garland, Langri Thangpa's Eight Verses on Training the Mind, and Chekawa's Seven-Point Mind Training together with the earliest commentaries on these seminal texts. An accurate and lyrical translation of these texts, many of which are in metered verse, marks an important contribution to the world's literary heritage, enriching its spiritual resources.
