Success Is a Calling! by Ashbel Vudzijena Pdf

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21) Its high time we realize that in the same way that life, in its broader version is a calling, success is similarly a calling. Nothing stands in the way of your calling, even a thousand troops! You cant even stand in the way of your own calling. Jonah failed to stop himself from succeeding. No matter how much you try, your success can only materialize if God wills. On the other hand, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you will succeed if it is the plan of God for you to succeed. He will lead you to places, people, circumstances, colleges, cities and villages that ensure your success. Among the various options life seems to offer, the best and only viable option is the plan of God for your life as an individual. The plan of God is ever inviting you towards the direction of your calling. If you dont look for success, it will still look for you if it is your calling for you to succeed in a particular way. This book helps you to rely on Gods plan for every minute of your life. Seek to find out this plan. Everyone has a calling. You have a calling upon your life. A calling makes success inevitable, unavoidable. Success is not corruption or nepotism. It is not a beautiful plan, a sound education or an insightful workshop. All factors can only propel you or apply in your life if there is a calling for that kind of success, first and foremost. Let your own plan give way to the plan of God for your life. Your destiny is guaranteed. A desire for success is like a smell. When you detect it you know the source is around. You can tell the level of success you will attain by the natural, not artificial, desire you have for it. Your desire does not give you a future. Instead it is the guaranteed future that gives you a desire for it. A desire is therefore a signal not the fuel towards the success that you are guaranteed by way of a calling. Read this book and realize that ultimate success is unconscious. It is a calling.

The Person and the Common Life by J.G. Hart Pdf

What follows attempts to synthesize Husserl's social ethics and to integrate the themes of this topic into his larger philosophical concerns. Chapter I proceeds with the hypothesis that Husser! believed that all of life could be examined and lived by the transcendental phenomenologist, and therefore action was not something which one did isolated from one's commitment to being philosophical within the noetic-noematic field. Therefore besides attempting to be clear about the meaning of the reduction it relates the reduction to ethical life. Chapter II shows that the agent, properly understood, i. e. , the person, is a moral theme, indeed, reflection on the person involves an ethical reduction which leads into the essentials of moral categoriality, the topic of Chapter IV. Chapter III mediates the transcendental ego, individual person, and the social matrix by showing how the common life comes about and what the constitutive processes and ingredients of this life are. It also shows how the foundations of this life are imbued with themes which adumbrate moral categoriality discussed in Chapter IV. The final Chapters, V and VI, articulate the communitarian ideal, "the godly person of a higher order," emergent in Chapters II, III and IV, in terms of social-political and theological specifications of what this "godly" life looks like.

Thinker’s Notebook by Nyanamoli Thera Pdf

This book contains the collected posthumous papers of the English monk-scholar Nyanamoli, who counts as one of the foremost translators of Pali Buddhist texts into English. Besides being a gifted translator Nyanamoli was also a gifted thinker, philosopher, and poet. Besides some longer essays, most of the notes are only one paragraph long and were written in the 1950s as a Buddhist monk. The notes and essays deal with profound topics such as ontology, metaphysics, nuclear physics, logic, but there is also humour, irony, sarcasm and light poetry. Four essays were earlier published in a Wheel Publication no. 52/53, Pathways of Buddhist Thought.

Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit by Pinkard Pdf

Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit has a long-standing reputation as one of the key books in the history of Western philosophy, but many are unsure just what it is about. Even the words in the title are disputed: What sense of "phenomenology" is being used? Is Geist to be rendered "spirit" or "mind"? What does this have to do with Hegel's original title, "The Science of the Experience of Consciousness"? To add to the perplexity, Hegel developed his own technical vocabulary in writing the book, but the jargon he created never caught on and thus there is no common usage for it. As a consequence, both the beginner and the Hegel specialist must make key decisions about to understand many basic terms in the book. This Oxford Guide walks the reader through this canonical text paragraph-by-paragraph using accessible and approachable language, such that both students and instructors--whether they come from philosophy, political theory, literature, or history backgrounds--will benefit.

The Intentional Life Series by Ramesh P. Richard Pdf

This set includes all three books of the Intentional Life Series: Soul Passion, Soul Mission, and Soul Vision. Throughout the Ages, humanity has pursued the "meaning of life." However, most of us live decidedly arbitrary lives, muddling through from day to day. In the Intentional Life Series, Dr. Ramesh Richard, who has been called the layman's Ravi Zacharias, articulates how a meaningful life must be a truly intentional life comprised of passion, mission, and vision. He believes that in order for us to embody our true selves and become what we were designed to be, we must reevaluate that passion, mission, and vision and conform them to God's will. In Soul Passion, Richard argues that even though many of us know there must be something more to life, we stumble about with undirected goals and undiscovered passion. He motivates readers to ask themselves what their passion is -- where they have placed their heart, love, trust, and sufficiency. Discovering your soul passion is the foundation for living a biblically well-built and profitable life. In Soul Mission, Richard explores what it means to have a mission for your life that is in response to God's universal purpose. Readers will find themselves deeply challenged to evaluate why they're here and find assistance with developing their own soul mission. In Soul Vision, Richard closes the trilogy by orienting his readers to the future, through guidance from the Divine Visionary.

The Purposes of God by G. Michael Zbaraschuk Pdf

The doctrine of providence is one that has fallen into theological oblivion in recent years. How can the words God and history still be said in the same sentence? This book surveys important contemporary attempts to talk about God and history, examines why they haven't been successful, and offers a contemporary doctrine of providence that is historically realistic, adequate to religious experience, and grounded in the Christian tradition. The author draws on the philosophical orientation of Alfred North Whitehead and brings it into conversation with liberation and ecological theologies.

Vision Quest by Peter James Ford Pdf

“VISION QUEST” is a book recording the continual soul expansion of the seeker, Peter James Ford. Peter’s journey began after a powerful spiritual experience in the little historic seaport in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In Peter’s late night meditations which were along the Merrimac River, the boardwalk, the Salisbury Reservation on the Atlantic Ocean, Plum Island, Maudsley Estate State Park, Pow Wow Hill (Native American Burial Grounds) and Old Hill Burial Grounds he was having vivid explosions in his mind of ‘seemingly’ past life experiences and powerful insights. Peter began seeing the hidden secrets of this quaint little seaport that people never take the time to see. Peter’s intuition and senses increased in an almost scary powerful way giving Peter wisdom from unseen sources. The source may be the Akashic Records/Library that is not a physical library but a place in the ethers that contains all the wisdom and knowledge ever known to anyone over the eons. We can access this power through ancient spiritual practices and apparently Peter has done just that. Stories and Tales began flowing from Peter and he wrote his first book. In the last three years Peter has written eight more books and shares everything he has found from his journeys to the inner worlds. Peter wrote a seven-book series under the title “MYSTICISM IN NEWBURYPORT” with an eighth bonus/companion book called “MYSTIC”. Now you are holding his new writings in your hands. Peter laughingly calls himself “An Unlikely Messenger” as his younger years were nothing resembling anything spiritual. So, here is the story of just another seeker realizing his divinity and returning to his own heart...

A Cultural History of the Modern Age by Egon Friedell Pdf

Volume three of A Cultural History of the Modern Age finishes a journey that begins with Descartes in the first volume and ends with Freud and the psychoanalytical movement in the third volume. Friedell describes the contents of these books as a series of performances, starting with the birth of the man of the Modern Age, followed by flowering of this epoch, and concludes with the death of the Modern Age. This huge landscape provides an intertwining of the material and the cultural, the civil and the military, from the high points of creative flowering in Europe to death and emptiness. The themes convey multiple messages: romanticism and liberalism opens the cultural scene, encased in a movement from The Congress of Vienna and its claims of peaceful co-existence to the Franco-German War. The final segment covers the period from Bismarck's generation to World War I. In each instance, the quotidian life of struggle, racial, religious, and social class is seen through the lens of the mighty figures of the period. The works of the period's great figures are shown in the new light of the human search for symbolism, the search for superman, the rise of individualism and decline of history as a source for knowledge. This third volume is painted in dark colors, a foreboding of the world that was to come, of political extremes, and intellectual exaggerations. The author looks forward to a postmodern Europe in which there is a faint glean of light from the other side. What actually appeared was the glare of Nazism and Communism, each claiming the future.

The Poetics of Grace: Christian Ethics as Theodicy by Jeph Holloway Pdf

What is God doing about a world marked by conflict and division? What about a world in which our technologies promise great good but also threaten our existence? What is God doing in a world where the demands for accumulation and acquisition create division and despair? Can Christians hope to be of positive influence in a world that does not always support, reflect, or even understand Christian commitments? Christian ethics often raises such questions as these, and the possible answers vary widely. Paul's Letter to the Ephesians is a tremendous resource for exploring a faithful response to perhaps the toughest question of all: what is God doing about evil? The role of Christian ethics is to take seriously the challenge that, whatever God is doing, God calls us to participate in a distinctive task that embraces our own commitments and labors within the divine purpose. Ephesians says that God has taken the initiative to pursue that purpose and, remarkably, offers that we ourselves are part of the answer to the question, what is God doing about evil?
