Long Road To The Manse by Gerald Gossage Pdf

LONG ROAD TO THE MANSE. By Gerald Gossage. About This Book.. This true story starts with a 13 year old Choir Boy who wants to follow his Mother's Jesus. He is fighting 111 Health, lack of education, and frustration with his view of the world and the church. The book concludes with him leaving College and University for the Manse of his first church then aged 37. The 'road' is full of humorous and interesting situations when he does almost every kind of work a man can think of, Lift attendant, Civil Servant, factory worker, office and shop work. A House Master to children, Motor mechanic, Actor, Preacher, Tea boy and Manager, and more. Set in the years 1937 to 1960 there are memories of war torn-, blitzed London with miracle escapes from bombs and Doodle Bugs, Nostalgic looks at shop girls when they lived in poor conditions over the shop. And the pre war Pawnbroker. We see him facing girl temptations where only God can deliver him, and later on marriage and family life. And through all these adventures he consistently holds to a belief that God has a plan for his life, and he must find it. In the end he gives up looking for God's plan, and then God steps in with a box of miracles which continue to the very last page. This book will cause laughter, sometimes a tear perhaps, will certainly entertain, and maybe make the reader ask "could something in this book be Just for me !" Comments of a few who have read this before publishing. "What a nice read. Pity there are not more books like this, they make you feel happy, and good" I really enjoyed your book, It is well written and of real interest. I'm not a religious man and therefore not so keen on the God-slot, but I admire your sincerity and without that the book would be spoiled. Keep it just as it is and try to get it published, if you write another I would buy it. Very Good work. Read your book by accident, couldn't put it down .Excellent, interesting and enjoyable. Would love to see it in print. (Another Book is coming soon "Long Road of Miracles")

Scottish Girls About Town by Jenny Colgan,Isla Dewar,Muriel Gray Pdf

Meet the Clanswomen... International bestselling authors Jenny Colgan, Isla Dewar, and Muriel Gray lead off this dazzling collection of stories by popular and rising Scottish women authors. A sometimes wild, sometimes poignant romp through the lives of Scotswomen, Scottish Girls About Town revels in the universal hilarity and strife of being a girl! They're looking for something moor. In Jenny Colgan's "The Fringes," a hapless heroine heads to the Edinburgh "Fringe" -- a massive theatrical and musical festival -- for a night of her own disastrous drama. Isla Dewar offers up "In the Garden of Mrs. Pink," one woman's look back at her girlhood and the life lessons she learned from an eccentric neighbor. In Muriel Gray's "School-Gate Mums," a single mother with killer instincts settles the score with one of the mothers at her son's school. Whether they're racing their flatmates in a weight-loss contest, reconnecting with long-lost friends, or grappling with the men in their lives, these daughters of Scotland prove that no one can top their audacious spirit and Highland charm.

Glenesk by Margaret Fairweather Michie Pdf

Glenesk is one of the most beautiful of the Angus glens. Though surrounded by high peaks in its upper reaches and seemingly remote, it is no isolated backwater. A network of hill-paths through the Mounth links Glenesk to Deeside and neighouring Angus glens, while its lower end opens out to the low country of the east. This is one reason why the Glen is so rich in the relics of life and work of the people who have lived there and who have passed through it from early times onwards. This is the story of an upland, rural community, told from the perspectives of the people themselves and covers almost every aspect of glen life. From the distant past to modern day, the book looks at people's changing relationships with the landscape, the buildings they lived, worked and worshipped in and the tools they used. Official documents record the effects of the famine and wars of the 17th-century, and the deprivations suffered either at the hands of marauding Highland caterans or the renegade offspring of their landlords. The text is complemented by many origianl, period photographs which portray the everyday life of the Glen.

Inspector Alan Grant of Scotland Yard MEGAPACK® by Josephine Tey Pdf

“Josephine Tey” was one of several pseudonyms used by Elizabeth Mackintosh (1896–1952), a Scottish author best known for her mystery novels. I have chosen to release this volume under this particular pseudonym since 5 of the 6 volumes were first published under it. (She published the first book as by “Gordon Daviot,” a name she primarily used for plays with historical themes.) In five of six novels in this series, the hero is Scotland Yard Inspector Alan Grant. (Grant appears in a sixth, The Franchise Affair, as a minor character—but it is included here for completeness.) The most famous of these is The Daughter of Time, in which Inspector Grant, while laid up in hospital, has friends research reference books and contemporary documents so that he can puzzle out the mystery of whether King Richard III of England murdered his nephews, the Princes, in the Tower. The Daughter of Time was the last of Tey’s books to be published during her lifetime. In 1990, the British Crime Writers’ Association selected it as the greatest mystery novel of all time. One final crime novel, The Singing Sands, was found in her papers and published posthumously. It is last in this collection. If you enjoy this collection, search your favorite ebook store for "Wildside MEGAPACK" to see the complete list of available titles. We have published more than 400 volumes in the series, covering mysteries, adventure, historical fiction, science fiction -- and much, much more!
