Inhaltsangabe:Gang der Untersuchung: Die Arbeit beschreibt das BEP (Basic Economic Principle Wirtschaftliche Grundprinzipien) Seminar in dem südafrikanischen Township Alexandria in Johannesburg im europäischen Sommer 2002 durch die Mitliberalen Friedrich Naumann Stiftung im Rahmen eines dort absolvierten Praktikums. Die Arbeit ist in 5 Hauptteile gegliedert, wobei Teil 1 bis 3 die Einleitung bilden, Teil 4 den Hauptteil und Schluß der Arbeit darstellt und Teil 5 auf die Anhänge verweist. Im Teil 1 findet sich u.a. sowohl eine Danksagung als auch die persönliche Motivation des Autors. Teil 2 versucht NGO und NPO von einander abzugrenzen und Teil 3 beschäftigt sich mit politischen Stiftungen in Deutschland, ihren Aufgaben und Zielen im Allgemeinen und der Friedrich Naumann Stiftung im Besonderen. Teil 4 beschäftigt sich einleitend im Überblick kurz mit dem historischen Südafrika und beschreibt zum besseren Verständnis die möglichen Zielgruppen vor Ort. Im 2. Unterabschnitt geht der Autor auf die Segmentierung der Zielgruppen ein und beschreibt im Folgenden deren Targeting, im 4. Unterpunkt das Positioning. Es folgt die Einbindung Porter's 5 Faktorenmodell am BEP, wo sich die Erfolgsfaktoren anschließen. Im 7. Unterabschnitt präsentiert der Autor 2 selbst geschriebene Geschichten, die als Marketingtool bei der speziellen Zielgruppe sehr erfolgreich waren, bevor im Schlussabschnitt Zusammenfassung und Aussicht, resp. Empfehlungen aus den evaluierten Ergebnissen folgen. Teil 5 hat die Hauptfragebögen und somit die Untersuchungsgrundlage, die Bibliographie und einen nützlichen Adressenhang von Partnern der Stiftung zum Inhalt. In politics, ideas matter. They provide the foundation for economic policymaking, which in turn shapes what is possible in domestic and international politics. Yet until now, little attention has been paid to how these ideas are produced and disseminated, and how this process varies between countries. The National Origins of Policy Ideas provides the first comparative analysis of how "knowledge regimes"—communities of policy research organizations like think tanks, political party foundations, ad hoc commissions, and state research offices, and the institutions that govern them—generate ideas and communicate them to policymakers. John Campbell and Ove Pedersen examine how knowledge regimes are organized, operate, and have changed over the last thirty years in the United States, France, Germany, and Denmark. They show how there are persistent national differences in how policy ideas are produced. Some countries do so in contentious, politically partisan ways, while others are cooperative and consensus oriented. They find that while knowledge regimes have adopted some common practices since the 1970s, tendencies toward convergence have been limited and outcomes have been heavily shaped by national contexts. Drawing on extensive interviews with top officials at leading policy research organizations, this book demonstrates why knowledge regimes are as important to capitalism as the state and the firm, and sheds new light on debates about the effects of globalization, the rise of neoliberalism, and the orientation of comparative political economy in political science and sociology.

A deep investigation of neoliberalism's proselytizers in Eastern Europe and the Global South Where does free market ideology come from? Recent work on the neoliberal intellectual movement around the Mont Pelerin Society has allowed for closer study of the relationship between ideas, interests, and institutions. Yet even as this literature brought neoliberalism down to earth, it tended to reproduce a European and American perspective on the world. With the notable exception of Augusto Pinochet’s Chile, long seen as a laboratory of neoliberalism, the new literature followed a story of diffusion as ideas migrated outward from the Global North. Even in the most innovative work, the cast of characters remains surprisingly limited, clustering around famous intellectuals like Milton Friedman and Friedrich Hayek. Market Civilizations redresses this absence by introducing a range of characters and voices active in the transnational neoliberal movement from the Global South and Eastern Europe. This includes B. R. Shenoy, an early member of the Mont Pelerin Society from India, who has been canonized in some circles since the Singh reforms; Manuel Ayau, another MPS president and founder of the Marroquín University, an underappreciated Latin American node in the neoliberal network; Chinese intellectuals who read Hayek and Mises through local circumstances; and many others. British institutions had already permitted the dumping, which due to institutional investigations didn’t violate the international environmental conventions made in Oslo and Paris to protect the sea. But suddenly the environmental organization Greenpeace launched a European-wide protest campaign to prevent the dumping of Brent Spar, which resulted in massive boycotts of Shell’s petrol stations all over the continent. The enormous public support of Greenpeace’s campaign forced Dutch-Shell not to dump Brent Spar but to tow it into a Norwegian fjord where it has been stored until today. By now there hasn’t been a solution for the disposal of the oil rig. In the case of Brent Spar everyone mentioned responsibility. The responsibility of the Dutch-Shell company to protect the environment, to report about future actions and their consequences and to base decision-making on more than just the opinions of shareholders. According to the public opinion, Dutch-Shell hadn’t taken this responsibility, the so-called social responsibility, which turned out to harm the image and sales of the company for years. This project work will explain the meaning and the role of social responsibility in marketing concerning past, present and future developments.
