The practice of Christian hospitality reaches back to the early centuries of Christian life as well as deep into Jewish history, life, and Scripture. This practice is alive today in Christian churches and in parachurch organizations within the United States, but new contextual realities--in particular twenty-first-century global migration patterns--have altered the conditions under which hospitality is practiced. The reality of migration and its effect on human lives disrupts static conceptions of hospitality and challenges ecclesial communities toward contextual appropriation of hospitality practice. This volume explores Christian hospitality practice in light of twenty-first-century U.S. Latino/a migration, and it develops the notion of a journeying hospitality of accompaniment with and among persons migrating, which fosters deeper relationships and formation. The shifting identities of persons "on the move" challenge assumptions about what it means to welcome another in hospitality and, ultimately, what it means to be church from within these new relationships. Rather, they are simply meant to help us have an idea of what could be the central message of each celebration. Brief stories and other biblical passages, quotes, popular sayings, and even personal life experiences have been employed in order to make the message clearer and more comprehensible to all. Above all, I have tried to keep it short and simple. However, great care has been taken in doing this by keeping in mind the rules of good biblical interpretation, without down playing the meaning and message of the individual readings. When all is said and done, Mykel and Nichole warmly weave together wayward members of a heavenly ordained project. Yet still, when a remnant of a long-forgotten evil rears its head once again, it claims an angelic prince. So angels must gather in a final thunderous conflict.
Our compassion and sensitivity for each other should not be limited by boudaries or contained within illusionary boundaries or borders. My allegiance is to the word of God, the love of life and to the message. My loyalites are to truth,altruism,non-violence, mercy,justice, and the protection of the weak, the feeding of the hungry, the freeing of the imprisoned, the respect for those whose language i cannot speak, the culture different yet equal to mine,the understanding that we are all on the same level and these truths are sheparding me in quiet gentleness on the golden pathway which is paved in humility,servitude and universal love for one and all.
