Star Wars Millennium Falcon by Ryder Windham Pdf

The Millennium Falcon is a legendary spaceship, made famous by its adventures under the command of smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, who made numerous special modifications to transform the beat-up Corellian light freighter into one of the fastest ships in the galaxy. This Haynes Manual traces the model history of the Corellian Engineering Corporation's YT series of spaceships and the development of the YT-1300 model line before focusing on the Millennium Falcon, itself a modified YT-1300. Onboard systems, controls, and their operation are described in detail and supported by a host of photographs, line art, floor plans, exploded diagrams, and stunning computer-generated artwork, all newly created by acknowledged Falcon experts Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas. Text is by Ryder Windham, author of more than fifty Star Wars books. Covering operational history, piloting, propulsion, weapons, engineering systems, sensors, and crew facilities, this is the most thorough technical guide to the Millennium Falcon available. This Haynes Manual is fully authorized and approved by Lucasfilm.

Star Wars: Tie Fighter by Ryder Windham Pdf

Just as the Galactic Empire used great fleets of starships to expand Imperial control across the galaxy, the subsequent authoritarian government, the First Order, used even more technologically advanced ships to unify planetary systems and crush all opposition. With both regimes, the most abundant and ubiquitous ships in their respective fleets were the notoriously lethal TIE fighters. The TIE Fighter Owners’ Workshop Manual presents a thorough history of Sienar Fleet Systems’ twin ion engine space superiority fighter, from early concepts and prototypes to the mass-produced starfighters that fought countless battles against insurgent groups. The history of TIE fighters—including bombers, boarding craft, and shuttles—is fully illustrated with numerous photographs, schematics, exploded diagrams, and computer-generated artwork by Star WarsTM vehicle experts Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas. Text is by Ryder Windham, author and co-author of more than 70 Star Wars books. This Haynes Manual is the most thorough technical guide to TIE fighters available, and is fully authorized and approved by Lucasfilm. Coverage includes: Sienar Fleet Systems and the TIE series Imperial TIE Fighters TIE Starfighter series First Order TIE Fighters Weapons and defensive systems The pilots, training and gear Size comparison chart

My Affair with the Falcon by James A. B. Mahaffey Jr. Pdf

This book describes my on-again, off-again affair with a "studio scale" special effects filming model the "Millennium Falcon"(R). When I first saw it on the big screen in 1977 in a new movie called "Star Wars" (R). I was completely captivated by it. Over the next 42 years I would draw it, draft it, build models of it and when possible purchase collectibles. This is my story of discovery and my pursuit to have a perfect replica of this now iconic space ship of the future.I include photos of a T-shirt that I had made over the holidays in 1977, with a bow view sketch of the Millennium Falcon® on the front and a stern view sketch on the back of the shirt. I then present my process for drafting and producing, what might have been a bestselling old school "blue print" poster of the Falcon in 1983 with an interesting back story if I had only had the time and money to obtain licenses and then market it. Who knows my back story for this poster might have impacted the "Star Wars" (R) Universe... I then have photos and descriptions of my efforts to make one accurate Falcon model by using two plastic model kits after I completed my "blue print" poster project in August of 1983. I have comparison sketches and descriptions of my observations of the differences between the 5 foot studio scale special effects model made for the first movie and the second 32 inch studio scale model made for the second movie.I also include scale dimensions for a full size Falcon based on measurements of a well-designed scale model using the current accepted length of the vehicle. The print version of this book has 150 pages that contain: 53 color plates, 17 color diagrams, 3 color comparison sketches, 1 color graph, 2 black and white plates and 2 tables. The Appendix also contains an additional 18 color plates, 2 black and white plates and 12 black and white drawings.Qi PressFirst Printing November 2019

Some More Connections by Richard Macarthur, M.d. Pdf

Richard MacArthur, MD, understands the power poetry has to reflect life in all its joy, love, and unexpected pain. In Some More Connections, MacArthur's third book of verse, he digs deep into his personal life to produce a new collection of poignant, powerful poems. MacArthur's verses run the gamut of human emotions, from the sweetest phases of love to the challenges of dealing with a debilitating disease. No subject is too small or too grand to escape MacArthur's pen-he jumps effortlessly from the loss of a beloved pet to pride in his country's history and from memories of his medical training to the miracle of new life. To read MacArthur's poems is to open yourself to your own memories, experiences, and emotions. He reminds readers of the simple joys of life as well as disappointments, triumphs, heartaches, and wonder. Written in MacArthur's trademark style-short, punchy lines of evocative free verse-Some More Connections follows in the poetic footsteps of his earlier works, Connections and More Connections. Fans will find poems at once familiar in tone and varied in subject, while new readers will delight in the discovery of a poet who dares to share his deepest feelings.

The Sumerians by Samuel Noah Kramer Pdf

The Sumerians, the pragmatic and gifted people who preceded the Semites in the land first known as Sumer and later as Babylonia, created what was probably the first high civilization in the history of man, spanning the fifth to the second millenniums B.C. This book is an unparalleled compendium of what is known about them. Professor Kramer communicates his enthusiasm for his subject as he outlines the history of the Sumerian civilization and describes their cities, religion, literature, education, scientific achievements, social structure, and psychology. Finally, he considers the legacy of Sumer to the ancient and modern world. "There are few scholars in the world qualified to write such a book, and certainly Kramer is one of them. . . . One of the most valuable features of this book is the quantity of texts and fragments which are published for the first time in a form available to the general reader. For the layman the book provides a readable and up-to-date introduction to a most fascinating culture. For the specialist it presents a synthesis with which he may not agree but from which he will nonetheless derive stimulation."—American Journal of Archaeology "An uncontested authority on the civilization of Sumer, Professor Kramer writes with grace and urbanity."—Library Journal
