Oh, Yuck! by Joy Masoff Pdf

Kids love stuff that's gross. From the liquids, solids, and gases--especially the gases!--or their own bodies to the creepy, crawly, slimy, slithery, fetid, and feculent phenomena in the world at large, kids with a curious bent just can't get enough. Oh, Yuck! The Encyclopedia of Everything Nasty brings together, in one book, all the good things about some of the baddest things on Earth. Exhaustively researched and impeccably scientific, yet written with a lively lack of earnestness, Oh, Yuck! is an ants to zits encyclopedic compendium covering people, animals, insects, plants, foods, and more. Here are vampire bats, which sip blood and pee at the same time so that they'll always be light enough to fly away; and slime eels, wreathed in mucus and eating fellow fish from the inside out. Oh, Yuck! explains why vomit smells; where dandruff comes from; what pus is all about; and why maggots adore rotting meant. Other features include gross recipes, putrid projects, 10 foods that make you airborne, and more. With hundreds of cartoon illustrations and real-life photographs, Oh, Yuck! is the complete guide to the irresistible--at least to an 8-to-12 year old--underbelly of life.

The Forever Friends by Gina Lynne Pdf

Manny, the little brown bear longs for a friend. But not just any friend. He longs for a Forever Friend. He wishes for a friend he can play with and laugh with, and dance and sing with. He wishes for a friend he can share all his happy thoughts and all his sad thoughts with. Find out what happens when Manny rescues a little white rabbit from a hunter's trap. Then follow them on their adventures as they happily explore their forest neighborhood. "He looked at his new friend with wonder and said, “And I don’t even know exactly WHY I was laughing!” “Oh,” she said, “I was just so happy to be free and so relieved you didn’t want to eat me that I just started laughing.” “Eat you?! Oh, no! Oh, yuck! Oh, gross! No way!” said Manny Bear, in a very shocked voice. “Yuck? What do you mean....YUCK!” the little white rabbit asked in a huffy tone. “Don’t you think I would taste good? What’s wrong with me? I am not gross or yuck!” Then realizing it might sound as if she were inviting him to have a taste she changed her mind. In a tiny voice, she said, “Never mind. I’m sure I must taste just awful anyway.” The little white rabbit sat up and offered her tiny paw to Manny Bear. He took it very gently in his much bigger paw. She said, “My name is Missy Rabbit and I am very pleased to meet you. Thank you for saving me.” Then they looked at each other and began to laugh all over again. By the time they finished laughing they were the best of friends. They were Forever Friends."

Adventure of Genet and Pangolin by Line Ally Baluwesi Mungurumia Chetesa Rossetti Pdf

The story is a perfect story for kids and family, a story anyone can relate to whether children or grown-ups. We all are going through life's daily adventures. It is full of entertainment. It is witty, educational, and full of adventure. It is filled with inspiring messages that will inspire not just kids, but the entire family: To see things and to live life out of sometimes what we are accustomed. In a sense, to enjoy life, to go with whatever the day brings us, whether it is difficult or a joyful, happy day. Especially in difficult days when someone is being extremely challenged with problems of the day and, in the midst of it, finding the solution not just for your problems, but how to help others overcome their problems In many cases we are all going through a pattern to try to help ourselves in the midst of trouble or difficulties, trying to figure out how to solve our problems or difficulties or whatever it might be in a sense without realizing that we are trying to do or to figure out something. Sometimes we do not have control over or things are out of our hands. They are in the hands of God always. He is the only one who has control over all things. That's why God always reminds us in all things to pray and to seek His guidance through all things and no matter what sin not. After all God says, in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" and in Matthew 28:20, "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Amen.

When Truth Gives Out by Mark Richard Pdf

Is the point of belief and assertion invariably to think or say something true? Is the truth of a belief or assertion absolute, or is it only relative to human interests? Most philosophers think it incoherent to profess to believe something but not think it true, or to say that some of the things we believe are only relatively true. Common sense disagrees. It sees many opinions, such as those about matters of taste, as neither true nor false; it takes it as obvious that some of the truth is relative. Mark Richard's accessible book argues that when it comes to truth, common sense is right, philosophical orthodoxy wrong. The first half of the book examines connections between the performative aspects of talk (what we do when we speak), our emotions and evaluations, and the conditions under which talk and thought qualifies as true or false. It argues that the performative and expressive sometimes trump the semantic, making truth and falsity the wrong dimension of evaluation for belief or assertion. Among the topics taken up are: racial slurs and other epithets; relations between logic and truth; the status of moral and ethical talk; vagueness and the liar paradox. The book's second half defends the idea that much of everyday thought and talk is only relatively true or false. Truth is inevitably relative, given that we cannot work out in advance how our concepts will apply to the world. Richard explains what it is for truth to be relative, rebuts standard objections to relativism, and argues that relativism is consistent with the idea that one view can be objectively better than another. The book concludes with an account of matters of taste and of how it is possible for divergent views of such matters to be equally valid, even if not true or false. When Truth Gives Out will be of interest not only to philosophers who work on language, ethics, knowledge, or logic, but to any thoughtful person who has wondered what it is, or isn't, for something to be true.

Perfect for fans of Alison Cochrun and Helena Greer, Talia Samuels’ debut sapphic romcom is about one woman who fake dates her friend…only to fall for his sister. Margot Murray is a newly single, successful businesswoman with no interest in a cutesy seasonal romance after her breakup with her long-term girlfriend. Ben Gibson is an unlucky-in-love sweetheart in need of a woman to bring home for the holidays. Together, they make a pact: Margot gets two blissful weeks away from London in a picture-perfect manor, and Ben gets a fake girlfriend for his holiday at home with his family. Upon arriving to the manor, Margot meets Ben’s sister, Ellie, who is suspicious of the supposed relationship right from the start. Ellie intends to get to the bottom of their relationship, not being able to see how the two of them work as a couple. As Ellie and Margot grow closer, will Ben and Margot be able to keep the charade up, or will Margot and Ellie risk the chance at something real?
