Pathways to Restore the Feminine by Kirsty E. Green Pdf

In the high-tech and fast-paced world, we need to make time to remember our true nature and align with the peace and serenity that come from within. Meditation and ritual can serve to bring about those more peaceful states of harmony and well-being. In Pathways to Restore the Feminine, author Kirsty E. Green shows how to establish practices that enhance the feminine aspect of our being. The practices focus on transforming each person within their own unique, authentic potential, allowing us to awaken and see life through the eyes of the heart. Green draws these practices from more than twenty years of experience working in alternative therapies areas, counseling, clairvoyant work, energy healing, grief and transition ceremonies, and meditation days in the forests in and around Melbourne, Victoria. Pathways to Restore the Feminine presents thoughtful and caring words of guidance and inspiration for women, showing that ritual and meditation are easy once you make a habit of creating time throughout your day.

Female Offenders and Reentry by Lisa M. Carter,Catherine D. Marcum Pdf

Often, research concerning the female offender is scarce. This book adds to the criminological literature on the topic of reentry for women, focusing on the barriers women face as they return to society and adjust to life after incarceration. Each chapter addresses specific issues, challenges, and obstacles affiliated with the hindrance of successful reentry processes associated with female offenders, as well as data-driven empirical studies. While corrections has often misunderstood or overlooked the needs of returning offenders, the shortcomings of the institutions have a greater impact on women than on their male counterparts, particularly regarding the occurrence of social and medical problems, especially those related to mental health and substance abuse. Female Offenders and Reentry helps criminal justice students and practitioners see the full picture when considering the challenges faced by female offenders reintegrating into society.

Local Power and Female Political Pathways in Turkey by Lucie G. Drechselová Pdf

This book explores the “Turkish paradox” – women’s lower representation in local politics than in parliament. By analyzing life stories of 200 female municipal councilors and party representatives, it offers a comprehensive assessment of what makes local politics in Turkey particularly inaccessible to women. It places women’s pathways within the cycles of exclusion, starting by political socialization, going through the candidate recruitment process and continuing after the election. The research presented here brings together gender studies and political sociology and offers novel applications of concepts including intersectionality and biographical availability. It covers all major political parties and diverse local configurations in Turkey, and reveals political strategies of women in conservative parties as well as the reasons behind the exceptionally high representation of women within the pro-Kurdish political parties. The book further sheds some light on the intricate relationship between women’s political activity and regime change in the context of democratic backsliding.

Sacred Pathways by Cassandra Eve Pdf

The Sacred Feminine archetypes within astrology, mainly found within the frequencies of asteroids and dwarf planets, are a deep rich source of wisdom for our lives now. For centuries Feminine wisdom has been suppressed, dishonoured and denied, contributing to crisis in every aspect of our lives and especially to our disconnection from each other and our Earth. At this time the voice of the Sacred Feminine is calling to be acknowledged, expressed and heard as a potent guide to a new way of being here on Planet Earth that honours, nurtures and upholds the sanctity of all life. In Sacred Pathways Cassandra presents seven Feminine archetypes - Venus as Creatrix, Psyche as Soul Child, Vesta as Priestess, Ceres as Earth Mother, Artemis as Moon Maiden, Juno as Queen of Heaven & Pallas Athena as Wisdom Warrior in their both their light and shadows as guides to women's unique journey of evolution. Exploring these archetypes through astrology, mythology, personal story and an evolutionary perspective, this book opens doors into woman's psyche and beyond it. It presents a series of pathways for women to connect deeper with the creative power they innately are, to be present within their heart's calling, to embody their unique cyclical and rhythmic nature, and to honour the deep wisdom of their knowing in relationships and the wider world.

Roads of Her Own by Alexandra Ganser Pdf

Reading Jack Kerouac’s classic On the Road through Virginia Woolf’s canonical A Room of One’s Own, the author of this book examines a genre in North American literature which, despite its popularity, has received little attention in literary and cultural criticism: women’s road narratives. The study shows how women’s literature has inscribed itself into the American discourse of the Whitmanesque “open road”, or, more generally, the “freedom of the road”. Women writers have participated in this powerful American myth, yet at the same time also have rejected that myth as fundamentally based on gendered and racial/ethnic hierarchies and power structures, and modified it in the process of writing back to it. The book analyzes stories about female runaways, outlaws, questers, adventurers, kidnappees, biker chicks, travelling saleswomen, and picaras and makes theoretical observations on the debates regarding discourses of spatiality and mobility—debates which have defined the so-called spatial turn in the humanities. The analytical concept of transdifference is introduced to theorize the dissonant plurality of social and cultural affiliations as well as the narrative tensions produced by such pluralities in order to better understand the textual worlds of women’s multiple belongings as they are present in these writings. Roads of Her Own is thus not only situated in the broader context of a constructivist cultural studies, but also, by discussing narrative mobility under the sign of gender, combines insights from social theory and philosophy, feminist cultural geography, and literary studies. Key names and concepts: Doreen Massey – Rosi Braidotti – Literary Studies – Spatial Turn – Gendered Space and Mobility – Nomadism – Road writing – Transdifference – American Culture – Popular Culture – Women’s Literature after the Second Wave – Quest – Picara.

Reading and Mapping Hardy's Roads by Scott Rode Pdf

This book examines Thomas Hardy's representations of the road and the ways the archaeological and historical record of roads inform his work. Through an analysis of the uneven and often competing road signs found within three of his major novels - The Return of the Native, Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and Jude the Obscure - and by mapping the road travels of his protagonists, this book argues that the road as represented by Hardy provides a palimpsest that critiques the Victorian construction of social and sexual identities. Balancing modern exigencies with mythic possibilities, Hardy's fictive roads exist as contested spaces that channel desire for middle-class assimilation even as they provide the means both to reinforce and to resist conformity to hegemonic authority.
