The Hope of Israel by Brandon D. Crowe Pdf

This volume highlights the sustained focus in Acts on the resurrection of Christ, bringing clarity to the theology of Acts and its purpose. Brandon Crowe explores the historical, theological, and canonical implications of Jesus's resurrection in early Christianity and helps readers more clearly understand the purpose of Acts in the context of the New Testament canon. He also shows how the resurrection is the fulfillment of the Old Testament Scriptures. This is the first major book-length study on the theological significance of Jesus's resurrection in Acts.

God's Vineyard Israel by Desiree Van Niekerk Pdf

God's Vineyard, Israel is a book about God's relationship with Israel. It is an exposition of Israel's spiritual condition, starting with God's deliverance of Israel from slavery and His ongoing intervention in their lives up to their spiritual decline. According to 1 Corinthians 10:11, Israel serves as an example for instruction for those upon whom the end of the ages have come, i.e. those who live in the latter days. Israel's turning to idolatry, false gods and syncretism (the fusion of holy with unholy) led to their falling away from God. Th e same falling away of the church is mentioned by Paul in the second book of Th essalonians which is indicative of the time toward the end of the age or the fulfi llment of the times of the Gentiles. A clear pattern emerges from those who are delivered from the kingdom of darkness into salvation and then the yearning for their previous condition. After God delivered Israel from Egypt, the Israelites yearned for their past. Th ereby, the repeated exhortation from Jesus Christ and others in the New Testament serve to explain the necessity to persevere unto the end. Th e similarity between ancient Israel and the modern church is noteworthy and one can only understand what is and will happen to the church through the example of Israel. Th is instruction is not only prophetic but serves as clear instruction and warning for modern believers. An analysis of idolatry and the consequences thereof explain the past, current and future probability of life as we know it. Contrary to world opinion of the causes and solutions to pollution, the Bible clearly states that it is the spiritual condition of mankind that determines the state of the earth. Th e Old Testament asserts that when Israel repented God often relented of the calamities He intended to send to them due to their idolatry. God's Vineyard, Israel makes for interesting and relevant reading for all people and often provides God's perspective rather than people's opinions or speculations. God's Vineyard, Israel provides examples of God's wrath and ancient judgments with the overwhelming message that few are saved! In between the severity of God's dealings with Israel and their ongoing rebellion is chapter 4, God's solution to humanity, His Son, Jesus Christ whose coming was prophesied throughout the Old Testament, the One who embodied God's grace and love for humanity! God's Vineyard is pertaining to the times in which we live, whereby increasingly people are falling away from the truth, seeking to create their own reality. It is a book led by the Holy Spirit of God and therefore relevant to the current spiritual condition that prevails throughout the world.

Heirs of Promise by P. Chase Sears Pdf

How did the Apostle Paul view the Church? And where does Israel fit in? How are the promises to Israel fulfilled? In Heirs of Promise, P. Chase Sears discusses this relationship between the Church and Israel, and he explains how that affects our understanding of the Old Testament. Using a biblical-theological approach to the book of Romans, Sears argues that Paul understood the church not as a replacement of Israel, but as the new Israel—the continuation of Israel reconstituted in Christ. And Jesus, as the Son of God, is the true Israel who fulfills all of God's purposes for Israel and creation. Sears shows how the Old Testament promises to Israel are being fulfilled in the Church.

Mustard Seed Faith in Church Planting and Evangelism by Gary Morris Pdf

The cover picture and the title go hand in hand. The person who goes out and casts seed has in him the hope that the kingdom of God will be expanded. He possesses at minimum, faith the size of a mustard seed. He believes that the all-powerful God whom he serves will release His power in what the picture portrays. The servant of God cast the seed, not knowing but believing that the purposes of God will become evident. Why? Because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). So in his labors, some seed finds residence in a hard and dark heart of stone. God is working His miracle of regeneration or drawing that hard-hearted individual to Himself. The seed of the eternal Word is cracking and breaking up the hard heart. Sometimes, the person of faith observes something happening. He witnesses what was once a hard and depraved heart is now being softened toward God. If he is involved in up-close evangelism, he is blessed to witness the spiritual miracle of salvation as depicted in the picture as becoming a heart of flesh. That once-hard-hearted person is now able to move in God's direction rather than continuing in his own depraved way. The eternal seed that has been implanted in the heart by God now begins to sprout out with life, demonstrating the life of the Lord Jesus Christ, growing and producing spiritual fruit unto his King; this is his reasonable service.

Perspectives on Israel and the Church by Chad Brand Pdf

The relationship between Israel and the church is one of the most debated issues in the history of theology. Some hold the view that there is almost seamless continuity between Israel and the church, while others believe there is very little continuity. Additional perspectives lie between these two. This debate has contributed to the formation of denominations and produced a variety of political views about the state of Israel. To advance the conversation, Perspectives on Israel and the Church brings together respected theologians representing four positions: Traditional covenantal view by Robert L. Reymond Traditional dispensational view by Robert L. Thomas Progressive dispensational view by Robert L. Saucy Progressive covenantal view by Chad Brand and Tom Pratt Jr.
