Purification of the Heart (Farsi/Persian Translation) by Hamza Yusuf Pdf

The suffering of the world is spoken of in terms of wars, starvation, hatred, competition, and the struggle of the survival of the fittest. Yet all the suffering of the world originates in the human heart. Every crime committed, every act of oppression, every callous cruelty, and every injustice to the self or others emanates from the hearts of men. However, for every wrong wrought by the human heart, a thousand acts of mercy have issued forth: every mother's love, every child's forgiveness, every teacher's care, and every father's concern for the well-being of his progeny-all have their source in the core of the human being, the human heart. If we are to right the world, we must first rectify our hearts, and this is why every revelation has been granted to humanity in order to make firm our hearts. Before you is a text that gives practical means and methods of transformation. Learn them, and use them, and then pass them on.

Translating Wisdom by Shankar Nair Pdf

A free open access ebook is available upon publication. Learn more at www.luminosoa.org. During the height of Muslim power in Mughal South Asia, Hindu and Muslim scholars worked collaboratively to translate a large body of Hindu Sanskrit texts into the Persian language. Translating Wisdom reconstructs the intellectual processes and exchanges that underlay these translations. Using as a case study the 1597 Persian rendition of the Yoga-Vasistha—an influential Sanskrit philosophical tale whose popularity stretched across the subcontinent—Shankar Nair illustrates how these early modern Muslim and Hindu scholars drew upon their respective religious, philosophical, and literary traditions to forge a common vocabulary through which to understand one another. These scholars thus achieved, Nair argues, a nuanced cultural exchange and interreligious and cross-philosophical dialogue significant not only to South Asia’s past but also its present.

Salman El-Farsi by Razwy,Sayed A. A. Razwy Pdf

Salman al-Farsi This is a story of a seeker of Truth, the story of Salman the Persian, gleaned, to begin with, from his own words: I grew up in the town of Isfahan in Persia in the village of Jayyan. My father was the Dihqan or chief of the village. He was the richest person there and had the biggest house. Since I was a child my father loved me, more than he loved any other. As time went by his love for me became so strong and overpowering that he feared to lose me or have anything happen to me. So he kept me at home, a veritable prisoner, in the same way that young girls were kept. I became devoted to the Magian religion so much so that I attained the position of custodian of the fire which we worshipped. My duty was to see that the flames of the fire remained burning and that it did not go out for a single hour, day or night.

Spiritual Disease and Its Cure by Ibn Qayyim,Ibn Kathir,El-Farouq Org Pdf

The Imam was asked a long question of which a part was - What is the opinion of the scholars regarding a man who is afflicted by a disease, and knows that if it should continue it would damage his life? The Imam Quoted the Hadith from Sahih Bukhari The prophet (S) said: 'Allah has appointed a remedy for every disease He has sent down' Imam Ahmad reported on the authority of Usamah bin Shareek that the ' Prophet (S) said Allah has not made a disease without providing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease, namely old age' This Applies to the medicine for the heart, soul and body. The wellbeing of the servant's heart, is far more important than that of his body, for while the wellbeing of his body enables him to lead a life that is free from illnesses in this world, that of the heart ensures him both a fortunate life in this world and eternal bliss in the next.

Many Paths: One Goal by J. P. Vaswani Pdf

Most of us are not found to be wanting in loyalty to our faiths; the problem is to cultivate a healthy respect for what others believe! This is a worthy aim which Dada J.P. Vaswani can surely help you achieve with this balanced, thoughtful work, written in the true Indian spirit of reverence and appreciation for all approaches to Truth and Divinity. The author presents each religion as a precious jewel embellished in the crown of world civilization. Whether it is Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Jainism, Judaism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Baha’ism, Sufism or Zoroastrianism, the individual artefact is distinct, precious and unique. But the sub-stratum of belief that is at the core of their structure is eternal and unchanging: faith in the One God and the unity and fellowship of all Creation. And running as a golden thread through them all is the ultimate law which every faith never ever fails to emphasise: Do nothing that may cause pain to others. Here is a book which will reinforce your faith in humanity and help you become aware of what Vedanta emphasises: the One behind the Many, the Single Divinity behind the multiplicity of thought and creation.
