Queen Esther wife of Xerxes: Fairy tale or real history? by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

Very few Bible scholars believe now in the historicity of the book of Esther but, surprisingly, their conclusion is based only on the following prejudice: this story looks like a fairy tale, consequently, it is a fairy tale! No chronological investigation and historical research have been carried out though chronology is the backbone of history and that it is impossible to write history without written testimonies. Worse still, to establish their chronology, scholars have blind faith in the Babylonian king lists which are nevertheless false (reporting no usurpation and no co-regency). Rather than taking into account the reality of chronological testimonies and ancient texts, most archaeologists have reinvented and mythicized history. In contrast, an extensive investigation of chronological, archaeological and historical evidence gives an amazing result: Esther (510-425) was the best attested Persian Queen.

Queen Esther wife of Xerxes: Chronological, Historical and Archaeological Evidence by Gerard Gertoux Pdf

Very few Bible scholars believe now in the historicity of the book of Esther, but what is really incomprehensible is that their conclusion is based only on the following prejudice: this story looks like a fairy tale, consequently, it is a fairy tale! There is no chronological investigation despite the fact that chronology is the backbone of history and there has been no historical research among archaeological witnesses despite the fact that apart from ancient texts there is no witness. Worse still, to establish their chronology, historians have blind faith in the Babylonian king lists which are nevertheless false (reporting no usurpation and no co-regency). Additionally, in order to establish historical truth, they regularly quote the official propaganda of the time which is very often misleading. Yet it is easy to check in the tablets of Persepolis that Mordecai was an eminent royal scribe called Marduka who worked with Tatennai, the governor beyond the River, under the direction of Uštanu, the satrap of Babylon, during the years 17 to 32 of Darius. Similarly, the narrative of Herodotus regarding Amestris (a name meaning 'vigorous woman' in Old Persian), Xerxes' unique wife and only queen known in Persia, corresponds in many ways to Esther ('star' in Old Persian”) despite the unfavourable and biased description of the Persian queen

Esther by Trudy Morgan-Cole Pdf

Trapped in the sensual swirl of an alien culture, her poise, beauty, and skill with the four-stringed oud caught the eye of Hegai. As she rose through the harem ranks, her true identity carefully concealed, her faith in eclipse, Esther had no inkling that the fate of a nation would hang upon her courage. Based on meticulous historical research, Trudy J. Morgan-Cole weaves the biblical story of Esther into secular history. Her deep narrative, involving more than 70 characters, brings to life the Zoroastrian society of ancient Persia and chronicles the known exploits and foibles of king Xerxes in authentic detail. Her amazing story shows how God turns women with common fears, struggles, and identity crises into heroines of faith. If you liked Terri Fivash's Joseph, you'll love Trudy J. Morgan-Cole's Esther.

Esther; Queen of Persia by Patricia Herdoiza Hernandez Pdf

Esther is a young Jewish woman living in the Persian Empire many years after her people were exiled there from the land of Israel. Although she has never seen the promised land, she knows God will take her there someday. For now, she has more pressing concerns. Daily life consists of working at the bakery and taking care of her dear uncle Mordecai, who has never been the same since the grisly murder of Esther's parents and grandparents sixteen years ago. They were killed for being Jewish, and Mordecai tells Esther to never tell anyone she is a Jew. Esther loves God and knows He is with her at every moment. She also loves her uncle but sometimes wishes to find her own happiness, that kind of love she imagines between Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. One night, soldiers arrive and take her to King Xerxes's harem since he is looking for a new queen to replace Queen Vashti, who had displeased him. To Esther's surprise, she and Xerxes feel a sense of trust with each other, and he decides to make her queen. Over time, they fall deeply in love. There's just one thing missing. Xerxes doesn't know Esther is Jewish. Esther wants to tell him to share her whole heart with her beloved husband, but she has always been taught not to speak about being Jewish, not to anyone. Will Esther and Xerxes's love for each other be enough to protect both Esther and her people? Will she be able to speak and reveal her true self to her husband and the kingdom? When an evil plot to destroy the Jews is concocted by Haman, Xerxes's second-in-command, Esther must decide to speak up or not. In doing so, she risks her life, as it is against the law to approach the king without being summoned. Will Xerxes's love for her be more powerful than the law? Which will win, love or law?

Queen Esther by E. Paul Braxton Pdf

QUEEN ESTHER It was a controversial marriage for Esther and Xerxes I. He was not a Jew, but the tyrannical King of the Persian Empire, and she was only the orphaned, teenaged daughter of a captive Jew. However, her background gave her strength. The marriage was arranged by the King as the first “Miss World” contest. Although he did not call his search for a wife by that name, he could have. The empire covered the known world, with 127 provinces stretching from India to Ethiopia. (Est. 1:1-2). Mordecai, the aged cousin who raised her, egged her into entering the contest, but he warned her Xerxes was a womanizer with a large harem. She scoffed at the idea that it would matter and reminded him, that Jewish King Solomon had 1000 wives. (I Kings 11:3-6). Mordecai planted a reluctant friend in the palace; however, it developed that the Jews needed a lobbyist. The viceroy, Haman had made a plot to kill all Jews remaining in Persia, bribing the king with 10,000 talents. The threat to her people drove Esther to God in prayer. She fasted and prayed in mourning garb with dung on her head for three days, (Est. 14:2-3 Apocrypha). She fell at the king's feet, begging him to oppose Haman. Her prayer was contrary to Biblical scholar claims that God was not mentioned in the Book of Esther. Clearly, she felt strongly about saving her people; thus, the Biblical cannoneers misfired the canon. After the defeat of Haman and his henchmen, Esther and Mordecai established the Jewish Holiday PURIM, and many Jews still celebrate it. Her husband was murdered in 465 BC, but was that the end of Esther? The author says no. Historical events indicate that she had a life after she was widowed.
