Radiological Imaging of the Digestive Tract in Infants and Children by Samuel Stafrace,Johan G. Blickman Pdf

This book comprehensively reviews imaging of the pediatric gastrointestinal tract and accessory digestive organs from a practical approach. Starting with a brief discussion on techniques this is followed by a couple of comprehensive chapters covering emergency/acute pediatric abdominal imaging. A series of traditional anatomically structured chapters on the oesophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon and accessory organs then follow. Each chapter carefully considers the role of the currently available imaging techniques and discusses and illustrates diagnostic dilemmas. The closing chapter focuses on pediatric interventional procedures performed with imaging guidance. Since the first edition, the text has been fully updated and new illustrations included. Against the background of rapid advances in imaging technology and the distinctive aspects of gastrointestinal imaging in children and infants, this volume will serve as an essential reference for general and pediatric radiologists as well as for radiologists in training, neonatologists and pediatricians.

Gastrointestinal Radiology by Ronald L. Eisenberg Pdf

Unique among all medical texts on the subject, this volume provides a direct, stepwise approach to the differential diagnosis of abnormal findings on gastrointestinal radiographs. Each of the book's 80 chapters shows a specific radiographic pattern...lists every disease entity it could possibly be...and helps the reader confirm, refine, or reject differential diagnoses to reach the best clinical diagnosis. Using a "pattern approach," chapters focus on specific radiologic abnormal appearances rather than disease entities and outline the typical signs, symptoms, and predisposing factors for the abnormality. This edition features hundreds of new images and a new section on MRI of the liver.

Procedures in Gastrointestinal Radiology by Julian Dobranowski,David A. Stringer,Sat Somers,Giles W. Stevenson Pdf

Dr. Dobranowski and his associates are to be highly commended for this excellent manual. I am not aware of a similar text covering the subject. Although all of us perform gastrointestinal studies in a differ ent manner, this text provides an excellent overview. The reader will discover that the text is especially well written and focuses on the important issues relating to GI contrast studies. Because Dr. Steven son's group performs endoscopic procedures, they are included in the manual. These authors are recognized scholars and leaders in gastrointesti nal radiology. Thus, it is easy to understand why the manual is so well done. I am particularly impressed with the emphasis placed on the patient-radiologist relationship before, during, and after completion of a study. All of us who teach gastrointestinal radiology are concerned about the decline in the number of gastrointestinal contrast studies. We are not sure how we can continue to teach our residents the proper tech niques and maintain high-quality teaching programs in gastrointesti nal radiology. A manual of this type is thus timely and appropriate. The manual will be a valuable addition to the library of all radiologists. It will be particularly useful for residents who are learning how to per form GI contrast studies.

Diffusion Weighted Imaging of the Gastrointestinal Tract by Anonim Pdf

This book explains how diffusion weighted imaging has been incorporated in routine MRI examinations of the abdomen and pelvis: though its clinical role is still evolving, it is already considered an important tool for the assessment of rectal cancer treatment response, as was confirmed in recent ESGAR consensus statements. The standardization and clinical validation of quantitative DWI related biomarkers are still in progress, although certain efforts have been undertaken to establish imaging guidelines for different clinical indications/body parts. The book reviews the technical aspects and clinical applications of DWI in imaging of the GI tract, and provides specific technical details (imaging protocols, artefacts, optimization techniques) for each GI tract division. This volume is mainly intended for radiologists who are interested in abdominal radiology, as well as radiology residents. Given that magnetic resonance physics is complex and can be cumbersome to learn, the authors have made it as simple and practical as possible. The book offers a useful tool for radiologists with a particular interest in the gastrointestinal tract radiology, as well as for radiology residents.
