Social and Physical Ecologies for Child Resilience: Wisdom from Asia and Africa by Haibin Li,Guanglun Michael Mu,Linda Theron Pdf

Since Emmy Werner and her team discovered on the Hawaiian island of Kauai the “invincible” children who fared well despite exposure to significant household risks, there has been proliferating research on child resilience as a positive response to adverse conditions. The past five decades have seen significant advancements in, and diverse approaches to understanding challenges, facilitative factors, and positive outcomes in the resilience process that involve children. Despite existing and continuously emerging modelings and framings, there appears a common understanding that child resilience unfolds through the interactions between individuals and the environments surrounding them. This Research Topic, therefore, takes an ecological approach to child resilience. While ecologies constitute social spaces that nurture child resilience, they can also refer to the “physical” environments surrounding children. There has been robust empirical evidence suggesting resilience is a shared capacity of the individual and the social ecology (e.g., families, schools, and communities), and more recently of the individual and the physical ecology (e.g., the built or natural environment).

My Emotions Journal by Lilly's Journal Pdf

My Emotions Journal - A Creative Feelings Log Book For Kids & Early Teens! Everyone feels better when they can recognise and express their feelings and this can sometimes be difficult for kids to do - and even more so for those children coping with conditions such as depression, anxiety, aspergers, ausitm or adhd. This fun journal will give your child an outlet for their emotions, in a creative way through both writing and drawing. Each day has two pages to work with: On page 1... A space to create their own Emoji face! A fun way for them to creatively express their key emotion for the day On page 2... Is a space to talk about how they felt during the day - in the morning/afternoon evening. A space to write down any potential emotional triggers they experienced that day. A space for important notes. These two pages are then repeated throughout the journal, with 122 pages in total to write on. Each journal is 6 x 9 inches, the ideal size to pack into their bag to school, or for trips away. Each journal has a quality soft cover, brightly covered with emoji faces and a smooth matte finish. Positive Health: Flourishing Lives, Well-Being in Doctors by Marsha W. Snyder M.D. MAPP. Pdf

Medical doctors take so much time taking care of their patients that they often neglect their own bodies and minds. Marsha W. Snyder, M.D., seeks to change that in this guidebook to living a life filled with positivity, satisfaction, and proper exercise. She pays particular attention to the root of the problem: the demands that are placed on future medical professionals in the first year of medical school. With this book, you’ll learn how to: • balance the demands of the workplace, home, and your body; • develop resilience so you can engage in proper self-care and avoid burnout, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other negative outcomes. • cultivate more positive emotions inside and outside the workplace; • engage in positive fitness, movement, and breathing techniques to boost overall health. Increasing positive health in doctors and health care personnel will improve employee and patient satisfaction, decrease the cost of care, reduce employee sick days, and lessen employee turnover. Whether you’re a medical student, medical educator, administrator or an active practitioner, you’ll live a longer and happier life by following the advice in Positive Health: Flourishing Lives, Well-Being in Doctors.
