Nearly a billion years ago, Ha scattered “ancient life-seeds,” provided by his Species’ Council of Elders onto a young planet earth, and created an experiment station. We are its product. Ha defends the planet from destruction by the Dark Force and the human Apex Beings themselves. The earthlings have evolved to a state of acceptance. Ha is a magnificent Warrior Pilot, but he is not perfect. He makes mistakes, costing many human lives, manages to vanquish all intruders, and routinely answers to the God Council for his misdeeds. Dick Cole’s War by Dennis R. Okerstrom Pdf

With the 100th anniversary of his birth on September 7, 2015 Dick Cole has long stood in the powerful spotlight of fame that has followed him since his B-25 was launched from a Navy carrier and flown toward Japan just four months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. In recognition the tremendous boost Doolittle’s Raid gave American morale, members of The Tokyo Doolittle Raiders were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in May 2014. Doolittle’s Raid was only the opening act of Cole’s flying career during the war. When that mission was complete and all of the 16 aircraft had crash-landed in China, many of the survivors were assigned to combat units in Europe. Cole remained in India after their rescue and was assigned to Ferrying Command, flying the Hump of the Himalayas for a year in the world’s worst weather, with inadequate aircraft, few aids to navigation, and inaccurate maps. More than 600 aircraft with their crews were lost during this monumental effort to keep China in the war, but Cole survived and rotated home in 1943. He was home just a few months when he was recruited for the First Air Commandos and he returned to India to participate in Project 9, the aerial invasion of Burma.

Marine Raiders by Carole Engle Avriett Pdf

FORGOTTEN NO MORE. The American people revere their elite combat units, but one of these noble bands has been unjustifiably forgotten—until now. At the beginning of World War II, military planners set out to form the most ruthless, skilled, and effective force the world had ever seen. The U.S. Marines were already the world’s greatest fighters, but leadership wanted a select group to conduct special operations at the highest level in the Pacific theater. And so the Marine Raiders were born. These young men, the cream of the crop, received matchless training in the arts of war. Marksmen, brawlers, and tacticians, the Marine Raiders could accomplish their objective before the enemy even knew they were there. These heroes and their exploits should be the stuff of legend. Yet even though one of their commanders was President Roosevelt’s son, they have disappeared into the mists of history—the greatest warriors you’ve never heard of. Carole Engle Avriett’s thorough telling of the Marine Raider story includes: The personal narratives of four men who served as Marine Raiders Frontline accounts of the Raiders’ most important engagements The explanation for their obscurity, despite their earlier fame The Marine Raiders were one of the greatest forces ever to take the field under the American flag. After reading this book, you’ll know why.

Forgotten Raiders of '42 by Tripp Wiles Pdf

On October 16, 1942, on Kwajalein Atoll, at the fringe of the Japanese Empire, members of the Imperial Japanese Navy's 6th Base Unit ceremonially beheaded nine Marines from the 2nd Raider Battalion. The captives held no hopes for pardon or for rescue as they walked blindfolded, one by one, to the spot of execution, which also became their burial site. The Marine Corps and their families already thought they were dead, the men knew.Forgotten Raiders of '42 is the account of how these volunteer patriots, unbeknownst to their command, were inadvertently left behind after the Marines' raid on Makin Island in August 1942. The raid, which was a morale boost for the Navy Department and the American public, was hailed at home as a great success even as the condemned Raiders knelt to await their fate. The heroism of the Raiders-under the command of Lt. Col. Evans F. Carlson, who later received the Navy Cross-has been well documented by the press, in books, and in Hollywood. In a country craving good news and heroes, Carlson and the Navy delivered. The details of the raid's shaky beginning and tragic end, however, would not be known until many years later. After a summary of the dramatic raid, Tripp Wiles focuses on the Raiders' withdrawal from Makin and on Carlson's decisions that directly affected the men who were left behind. Wiles also examines the actions, inactions, and conditions that led to their unintentional abandonment. Finally, he reviews the Navy's private reactions and, using new documents and interviews, the Raiders' fate, bringing a measure of closure to the disappearance and execution of the forgotten Raiders.

True Raiders by Brad Ricca Pdf

True Raiders is The Lost City of Z meets The Da Vinci Code, from critically acclaimed author Brad Ricca. This book tells the untold true story of Monty Parker, a British rogue nobleman who, after being dared to do so by Ava Astor, the so-called “most beautiful woman in the world,” headed a secret 1909 expedition to find the fabled Ark of the Covenant. Like a real-life version of Raiders of the Lost Ark, this incredible story of adventure and mystery has almost been completely forgotten today. In 1908, Monty is approached by a strange Finnish scholar named Valter Juvelius who claims to have discovered a secret code in the Bible that reveals the location of the Ark. Monty assembles a ragtag group of blueblood adventurers, a renowned psychic, and a Franciscan father, to engage in a secret excavation just outside the city walls of Jerusalem. Using recently uncovered records from the original expedition and several newly translated sources, True Raiders is the first retelling of this group’s adventures– in the space between fact and faith, science and romance.

The Rankin Street Raiders by Mark W MacMillan Pdf

Welcome to the world of the Rankin Street Raiders, or Tom Sawyer times five. Their exploits and misadventures took place in a time when guys driving flashy candy-coloured muscle cars ruled the roads, girls wore frilly polka-dotted party dresses to school, dogs ran free and drug store soda fountains sold root beer floats stacked with ice cream, and yes, there was always a cherry on top. The Raiders practiced their artful piracy in Detroit, Windsor and their home town of Amherstburg, or A'burg. It was where and when CKLW brought a brand-new beat to the airwaves with hit after hit from the Motown song factory. Newly minted Great Lakes Freighters parted the waters like 747s preparing for takeoff. Boblo, an island amusement park, drew merrymakers from around North America. Fort Malden stood strong, still a bastion of the War of 1812. Point Pelee, the southernmost tip of Canada, became a migratory bird sanctuary and the guardian of countless plant species. Embracing this rich environment, the Raiders pulled off escapade after escapade that were created in a combined spirit of friendship and glee. So climb aboard their good ship, unfurl the Rankin Street Raider flag and sail into a past that contains unbridled fun with some lessons for the future. "The Rankin Street Raiders is an absolute pleasure to read. The book is a warm, inspiring story, rife with the kind of adventure, mischief, and even melancholy that only a pack of young teenagers could manifest and share with us. The author has chosen to pull the Raiders closer and closer to our hearts with each sentence. By the end, we feel like closing the book is like saying goodbye to friends." -Jessica Kirby, Editor
